Speedy deletion nomination of Karabo Moroka
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Karabo Moroka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Karabo Moroka. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Reverting changes to Rhythm City
[edit]Hi, I noticed you reverted my changes to the article Rhythm City, with the edit summary "The article has less information and looks like a dull". I would prefer to avoid an edit war, so I wanted to explain my changes and why I have undone your revision.
Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Most of the change you reverted was removing content that was just indiscriminate lists of credits, as I said in my edit summary. These are not suitable content for a Wikipedia article. The lists were also completely unsourced.
Additionally, your reverting of my changes added back in outdated information and reverted some copyediting. It was not necessary to revert all of my edit to re-add information. AKiwiDeerPin (talk) 14:06, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I noticed you reverted all changes to the lists in the Rhythm City article again, without any discussion. Your edit summary, "Full cast of the show", doesn't justify having four separate cast/crew lists in the article, provide any reason why these lists of names are notable and suitable for inclusion in an encyclopedic article, or provide any reliable sources. You also reintroduced outdated information. If you believe all this information ought to be in the article, please discuss why either here or on the article's talk page, but indiscriminate lists of information are not suitable content for a Wikipedia article, and they certainly don't need to be in the same article three times.
- If you are interested in the article including the relevant, notable information from the various lists you added back into the article, the article for such a long-running show could include a large number of actors and characters, but the information would need to be presented properly. Similarly, writing about notable crew members would also be suitable, so long as there were reliable sources and the information was presented properly. (Lists of minor and non-notable crew are generally unsuitable for Wikipedia articles, but especially for one about a show with 3,660 episodes!)
- I'm not familiar with Rhythm City, or very familiar with how information about such long-running shows is typically presented on Wikipedia, but many have separate pages with lists of characters or cast members: for reference, a similarly long-running and cancelled show, Brookside has a simple alphabetical list, and the extremely long-running and cancelled Guiding Light just has a list. Speedy deletion nomination of Karabo Moroka
[edit]Hello, Thulo Bala,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Greyzxq and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Karabo Moroka, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Greyzxq}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!
