November 2023

[edit]

You seem to be adding a "Biden Plus/Minus score" to several BLPs. Is there a consensus someplace to add these? Part of the edit you have added to so many US politician BLPs states that their voting record indicates "more support for Biden's priorities than would be expected given the makeup of his district." This sort of unscientific journalism makes for interesting reading, but it is unencyclopedic. Please seek a consensus before adding more "scores". Thanks. @Magnolia677 It was provided on many pages so I started added them to others for consistency. You'll notice partway through I switched to primarily only adding the actual score without the "more support" line unless it was in the FiveThirtyEight source (which it only was for a few outlier cases). Will stick to only the percentage of votes with Biden going forward. Thmymerc (talk) 06:21, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I see in many talk pages, thoae should all be removed since in a congress so evenly split most of the things opposed by moderate representatives can't get a vote, like Sinema has 100% Biden score on 538 even though she infamously blocked most of Biden's agendas 47.218.111.38 (talk) 14:14, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Norman Roule moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Norman Roule. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and none of the sources are independent, reliable WP:SIGCOV. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. GPL93 (talk) 16:05, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Norman Roule requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. estar8806 (talk) 00:10, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lions' Den (militant group), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Islamic Jihad. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.

Request reason:

I understand that an editor chose to contact Tamzin for this outcome and I reviewed the conversation on Tamzin's talk page where Tamzin says I am someone's sock. I want to be clear that I have never had another account on Wikipedia. I have made edits without creating an account in the past.

While I'm new to Wikipedia, I have spent some time reviewing policies as they are brought to my attention. I have also contributed a number of articles which I believe improves the encyclopedia. When guidelines are pointed out to me, I have altered my editing to comply.
I understand nableezy has had issues with some of my edits, but I think my editing since stepping into the contentious editing area shows that I'm interested in discussions on talk pages where the majority of my recent edits have been held. I also recently used the chat and received advice from DragonflySixtyseven on Norman Roule which I found very helpful. I'm disappointed to log in and find this action taken by an administrator who I've never engaged with in the past and hope to have it reviewed. Thank you. Thmymerc (talk) 09:00, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I don't see where another editor was seeking a specific outcome regarding you(i.e. "block this guy!"); a user inquired about taking action. You're not new to Wikipedia if you've edited in the past(irrespective as to how). You edit warred and appear to have gamed the system to get extended-confirmed to be able to edit about contentious topics. 331dot (talk) 10:30, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Notice

The article Norman Roule has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability concerns. Many biographical descriptions of him exist, but they're all from places he's worked at or wrote for. We need independent sources, which I couldn't find.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
