RE: Edge

Sure. Which sentence? Nikki311 02:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

How about:

  • Growing up, Copeland admired several wrestlers, including Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, HBK, and Bret Hart.
  • Copeland claims to have admired Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, HBK, and Bret Hart when he was younger.
  • Copeland began watching wrestling at a young age. His favorite wrestlers included Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, HBK, and Bret Hart, all of whom he admired.

Feel free to change the wording. I hope this gave you some ideas. I think it would be best to incorporate the sentence into an "early life" section or something so it doesn't seem like a random fact. Nikki311 02:12, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Triple H

Yeah, sure, if you think it's better than the current infobox image. I wasn't sure, mainly due to resolution on his face (I was a long way back), and as I said to Mshake3 I didn't want to tread on too many toes with the wrestling photos I was going to upload; replacing infobox images is probably the quickest way to upset people.

I might not get around to it for a few days (I'll go back and take it off my original rather than just cropping from the one here). Cheers, --jjron (talk) 07:17, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note. I will do that, and also have a number of other pictures that may be useful for articles that I will also put in them, but that may not be for a few weeks when things quieten down at work and I have some more free time. --jjron (talk) 08:15, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I have replaced the infobox image with a slightly closer crop of the fourth image in my sequence as you suggested.
We'll have to see if it stays. I noticed that User:Donco had removed the entrance sequence from the article not long after you left the first message on my talkpage; he seems to be involved in fairly minor Wikipedia edits in general and gave no reason for his edit - is he known to you at all?
BTW I also uploaded this image; I was wondering whether you think it may be better than the other one for the infobox? --jjron (talk) 13:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought some people may think the sequence was too big, though it could be put into the article at about half the width like a normal image. That would make each individual picture a bit small, but may help with the size concerns as it wouldn't be so dominant. Some of my Jeff Hardy shots are better than what's in his article ATM so I'll add them at some stage, plus some others, if it seems they're appreciated.
Re HBK, he unfortunately wasn't at the Melbourne event just gone, so no photos of him. I did take a few photos of him at an event in 2003 but the quality is so bad - taken on a cheap, old, low res camera - that I don't think they're worth uploading at all. I was actually far closer to the ring that time, so probably could have got quite a lot of good stuff if I'd had a decent camera. There's maybe some action shots from that time that, despite the quality, would perhaps assist some articles which are very low on images, such as the Dudleys. Cheers, --jjron (talk) 08:45, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
No luck on the Orton action shots. Because of the low light, and being so far back, I had to shoot at a low shutter speed, meaning the action shots tend to be motion blurred; some are probably useable, but they're not great.
It was tricky doing any of the shots really, because it needed perfect timing while there was a split second pause or slow down in motion (say with those Triple H entrance sequence shots); but there's not many pauses in motion when doing an RKO for example. I do have some action shots of Jeff Hardy (e.g., doing the Swanton), Umaga (mainly pounding on Hardy), and Triple H (mainly on the offensive against Orton, including the High Knee and the start of the Pedigree), but oddly I didn't take any Orton action shots at all. BTW, here's another Triple H image that I rather like, just with his positioning in front of the crowd's signs, etc. Not sure whether it's of any use to the article. --jjron (talk) 08:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not sure that it's any use for the article, I just liked the different perspective (I guess a caption would be more '...acknowledging the crowd' as he's performing as a face and it's after the match; atm I'll just leave it in the gallery on Commons, but might have a look at the Face article). I have quite a few HHH images, but these are probably the best, along with a couple at the end of the night with Hardy when they'd put the arena lights up, and some of the action shots from the match that are perhaps useable (but as I said above a bit too motion blurred to be really good). --jjron (talk) 14:10, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
I took way more images of the Triple H match and festivities than anything else, but took at least a few images in all of the other matches. There's probably something of use from most, if not all of them - as I said I'm pretty busy atm, so I just need to get the time to get around to going through them all and uploading! If there's any articles you can think of currently in desperate need of pictures that I may have got something for on the Raw tour, let me know. --jjron (talk) 12:57, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, I have a bit of Hardy as I mentioned above, so I can add a few photos to the article. I also took quite a few of Kennedy; none are as good as Mshake3's lead photo, but you're right, it could do with some more pics through the article. Re the FPC, sure, anyone is welcome to vote on it, provided they have checked the criteria, there's no 'group' as such. It looks like the nom is sunk anyway by now. --jjron (talk) 11:31, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Orton

Yeah, its not a nickname, yet JR, King, and Vince all referred to him as The One Man Dynasty. —mikedk9109 21:11, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

What you just said made no sense whatsoever. So, you are telling me that when 3 people refer to someone as a One Man Dynasty, they are referring to an ERA? Ok... —mikedk9109 21:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
So, your understanding of this overpowers the fact that they referred to him as this? And not an era? —mikedk9109 21:23, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

The game hasn't even started yet. Regarding yet another one of your userboxes, the Oregon Ducks have a higher record than the UCLA Bruins in college football. :P The Chronic 01:12, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I've heard of a duck that killed a bear with his own bare hands. :) The Chronic 01:17, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
A duck with rabies bit a bear, and the bear died of AIDs two weeks later. The Chronic 01:25, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

My new userbox. Mwhahaha! The Chronic 21:00, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

No, the Blazers didn't win (hey, I designed my Laker-phobic userbox in the design of the Lakers' white jerseys. Like it?). However, the Ducks will win the Civil War (which I'm watching right now). You'd better root for the Ducks for me. As for the newsletter: I'm not sure whether or not to put important matches in. Put a test match in first, and I'll see how it'll look. The Chronic 22:32, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
PLAGIARISM!!! I'm going to sue you for copyright infringment of my userbox (you could've been a little creative with the colors). :) The Chronic 22:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
There. I fixed up the colors to match our alternate uniform. The Chronic 22:47, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
And for the newsletter: ...uuummm... I'm not really sure about that. Flair's career wasn't (legit) on the line, and the sentence sounds like it was real. I've always been opposed to listing matches in the current events section. So... The Chronic 22:49, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes. PS. If you want to watch it right now, it's on on ESPN2. The Chronic 22:59, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Read the Civil War article. The Chronic 23:01, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

By "both our teams lost", do you mean how the Oregon Ducks lost of the OS Beavers, and how the UCLA Bruins lost to the USC Trojans? :) Anyways, adding the info about the HBK DVD would definitely be a good idea. The Chronic 02:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Surprisingly, right now (it is now halftime. Blazers are trailing behind, but Tim Duncan just injured his knee. That should give us some leverage in he 2nd half). Also, the Lakers play the Orlando Magic today. Good luck! The Chronic 22:21, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, my first thought is that the Blazers just now beat the Memphis Grizzlies. My second thought is that Speed CG is wrong; the Blazers are better than the Nuggets. My third thought is: I hope the Nuggets beat the Lakers when they play this Wednesday. :P The Chronic 03:42, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
That makes three fingers. The Chronic 04:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey (away from this large debate), do you know anything that going on in the wrestling world to include in the current events section of the newsletter? The Chronic 04:14, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Wait... where does it say that WWE is feuding with a toy company? The Chronic 04:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, sure. I guess I'd be okay to put that in the newsletter. The Chronic 04:28, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

It's very complicated. I'm still trying to learn how to work it, even though I rarely use it. I mainly use the combination of Vandal Fighter and Twinkle. This is a very powerful combination because Vandal Fighter will bring up a page of ALL the recent changes of users and IPs, and Twinkle will revert the edit(s) and automatically bring up the user's/IP's talk page were you can choose from a list of warnings to give them. I'd recommend using this since both The Chronic and I use it. Cheers, LAX 20:50, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't pay attention to the NFL a lot, except for Super Bowl time. I don't have a permanent favorite team. My "favorite team" has changed over time. Here's a list of them:

  1. San Francisco 49ers - I don't know why I liked them. I just did.
  2. New England Patriots - 2002-2005, during their Super Bowl era.
  3. Seattle Seahawks - During Super Bowl XL. Closest NFL team to Portland.
  4. Indianapolis Colts - During Super Bowl XLI time.
  5. No favorite NFL team right now.

This would be a good match-up: Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots. The Chronic 01:24, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Ummm......................... that's kinda hard. It's really hard for me to choose between SP or FG (which is why I'm a member of both Wikiprojects). South Park has the more political humor that makes sense. Family Guy's cutaway scenes that poke fun at pop culture are really funny. So, SP and FG are tied (which means I can't choose between the Broncos and the Patriots, and I thought you liked the Patriots). The Chronic 04:41, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I sorta do still like the WWE, but I don't watch it for the wrestling; only TNA's starting to feel a little bland right now. Only the X Division matches can keep me awake (which is why I prefer TNA over WWE). The Chronic 22:45, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Despite popular belief, it only snows (snow that stays) once every two years. Just last week, there was a bit of snow, but it didn't stick; on the contrary, a few years ago it snowed so hard, school and businesses were out for two weeks. If you want snow, you have to go to Timberline Lodge (or Mt. Hood), which is a popular destination. Only 50 miles from Portland. The Chronic 23:18, 8 December 2007 (UTC) P.S. If you want to see how the snow was, here's a somewhat funny video of it. The Chronic 23:44, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. Cheers, LAX 22:04, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I'll do what I can. Cheers, LAX 22:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Good question, I don't know. Sorry. Cheers, LAX 02:38, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, they totally wasted The Steelers 34-13. Cheers, LAX 22:40, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
No, not really. Mark Linton helped me finish No Way Out (2006) and I was thinking about expanding Judgment Day (2006) soon. Anything new with you? Cheers, LAX 22:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Ausome, I think Unforgiven would be a good one to do, and yeah I heard >_<. Cheers, LAX 22:59, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, and even though I don't really like TNA, it should still be pretty cool. What do you think? Cheers, LAX 23:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Just SD! vs Raw '06 and '07. Do you have any games? Cheers, LAX 23:39, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I just mainly play Madden '07 and SD! vs Raw '07. Cheers, LAX 23:50, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

As of now, probably Guitar Queer-o. What about you? Cheers, LAX 23:59, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Or the Imaginationland trilogy. Cheers, LAX 00:01, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
No, not yet. What is you're favorite episode of Family Guy? Cheers, LAX 00:11, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Side note: You'll probably want to find more references for the Vengeance article. Cheers, LAX 00:11, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Either Patriot Games or Blue Harvest. BTW, I just finished fixing all of the broken links for Vengeance (WWE Vengeance#2006Vengeance (2006)). Cheers, LAX 00:27, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
It's no problem. I use AutoWikiBrowser and I've been using it to help repair links (mainly for PPV's) for a while now. I watch Comedy Central every now and then. You? Cheers, LAX 00:51, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Either Mind of Mencia or The Colbert Report. Cheers, LAX 01:07, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Genre, song, artist, album, band, what? Cheers, LAX 01:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Ozzy Osbourne, and you? Cheers, LAX 00:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, why? Cheers, LAX 00:30, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Not at the moment. Do you play any sports? Cheers, LAX 00:37, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Just Soccer, Football, and Basketball. What one are you best at? Cheers, LAX 00:48, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Either Soccer or Football. Cheers, LAX 01:02, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Now, probably Rey Mysterio. You still like Shawn Michaels? Cheers, LAX 01:44, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
I was just assuming. If Michaels isn't your favorite wrestler, than who is? Cheers, LAX 01:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Earthquakes? No, at least not very recently. The last earthquake that hit Portland was only a 1 or 2 scale. The latest local disaster in Oregon is the huge storm that hit. A lot of towns on the Oregon coast are completely flood. Some parts of Portland were flooded places (not my neighborhood). The Chronic 01:04, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Should I list my favorite Family Guy episodes? The Chronic 01:19, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

No. I just wanted to let you know that there was one slot left on the interview schedule. Thought you might want to take that slot before someone else took it. The Chronic 01:21, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Here's a list of my all-time favorite Family Guy episodes: North by North Quahog, Breaking Out Is Hard to Do, PTV, Patriot Games, Sibling Rivalry, Deep Throats, Untitled Griffin Family History, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, Stewie Loves Lois, Saving Private Brian, Prick Up Your Ears, Road to Rupert, The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Airport '07, Boys Do Cry, No Chris Left Behind, Meet the Quagmires, Blue Harvest, Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air, Stewie Kills Lois, and Lois Kills Stewie. Well, there's a branstorming list of ideas for the template of questions to be asked to the interviewee (much like the standard three RfA questions). Once we set up a good list of them, we'll have the scheduled interviewee answer the questions, along with any other optional questions from other users. It'll then be posted on the newsletter (probably as a link to the viewable interview, since were not gonna transclude the whole interview into the actual newsletter). That said, do you have any ideas for questions? The Chronic 01:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

"Dyke", cause a lot of the valley girls at my school get pissed off by that (and I call my friends that sometimes out of random). The Chronic 01:52, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

I like watching te X Division, so the high-flyers (most particularly Rey Mysterio in WWE, and the LAX in TNA). The Chronic 05:07, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, I do recall Rey Mysterio defeating Shawn Michaels one time... The Chronic 04:12, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Nothing really, except for the interview segment that is set to debut next week. The Chronic 22:43, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
TJ Spyke. The Chronic 22:48, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
If I helped, I wouldn't be much help. I didn't watch the PPV, and I stopped watching WWE around that point, so I wouldn't know what would go in the article (sorry...). :) Right now, I'm in the process of improving Portland Trail Blazers. The Chronic 22:57, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Kennedy

Just letting you know I finally got around to adding some Mr Kennedy pictures to the article. Also added a few to other places, like Pin (professional wrestling), and some of the relevant holds/throws sections. I'll do Bob Holly next. --jjron (talk) 14:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Question: do you think this image is better than the current Holly image for the infobox? I'm not sure - I know the quality of mine isn't great (but neither is the current one), and mine is a more interesting photo overall, but I'd like an unbiased opinion. Thanks. --jjron (talk) 14:28, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Hehe, yeah, there'll be more to come (not of Kennedy though) - maybe it's a good thing they don't come to Australia too often, and I only sometimes go. I'm almost on holidays, so I should be able to find time over the next few weeks to get through the rest of the photos I took at this event, and upload the useful ones.
Then I'll have another look at the ones from the other couple of events I've been at, but as I've mentioned before, they aren't particularly good as I was only using cheap cameras. One of them (in 2002) was taken on film, so I won't be putting up much from there, because I'd need to scan them in (not that there was much useful anyway as that camera didn't even have a zoom). Overall, there won't be too much from those events, I'll really only put anything in if the article's desperate for photos. Cheers, --jjron (talk) 00:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
2002 - that's stretching the memory a bit ;-). There will be photos of Kurt Angle, Edge, the Hurricane, probably Jericho, and the main event was a triple threat for the belt with The Rock (champ), Triple H and Brock Lesnar so I would have taken pics of that. I'm sure I took some shots of Rikishi, it was also back when Batista was Deacon Dave and Billy & Chuck were a 'couple', Rico was around, I think I tried to get Kidman's shooting star press, etc. But honestly, from memory they're so far back (without the zoom) and so dark, there won't be much, if anything, really useable.
Actually, having just looked at some of those articles, it's amazing how short on images they are. For example there's only two pictures in the entire Rock article - incredible. --jjron (talk) 01:12, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Tell me about it. I went to a small WWF house show in 1986 where we were right on top of everything - maybe 20m back from the ring and right on the entrance 'ramp' - and I would have been able to get great shots of everybody. But I didn't even have a camera then, and of course digital didn't exist. Oh well. --jjron (talk) 01:26, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Lucky me for being old? ;-) If you weren't born then, then I was probably somewhere about your age at the time, it was when I was in my last year of high school. WWF came back to Australia in '87, then the next time they (the just newly named WWE) toured was the 2002 'Global Warning' event I mentioned above. --jjron (talk) 01:59, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

HBK.

My mistake, another section of the article made it seem like it was his actual ring name at one point, so I was trying to make it consistent. Thanks. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 02:52, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I will keep that in mind about fact tags. I wasn't aware that tags were generally discussed on the talk page first. I thought it was for dispute resolution or answering questions mostly. Thanks for the advice. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 06:31, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
