CCI

Hello User:Thine Antique Pen thanks for the interest you have taken to go through my work.I must say the my CCI complaint was in good faith but nonetheless I am sad and someway helpless. There were a couple of articles you mentioned that I can accept that they were copyrighted −because I was new on Wikipedia. There are others especially the ones labelled as closed paraphrasing that I only used the facts and figures from the said websites since I couldn't have done that one my own. Again I cited those pages where I took the information from. I must be getting something wrong when it comes to paraphrasing but the truth is I did not intentionally do that.I am however ready to help clean up the copyrighted contents on those pages but the truth of the matter is I do not know how to go about. Please let me know what I can do at this stage because I am really down with the turn of events. My only desire was to help build more content from Ghana and not to infringe copyright rules. Regards--Rberchie (talk) 11:24, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello Rberchie. Do not worry too much. Many people have problems with Wikipedia's copyright policies when they first start editing, but still become great editors later. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 20:04, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your response.--Rberchie (talk) 18:54, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello User:Thine Antique Pen please what is my status with respect to the CCI? Have investigations been completed?Have the article been cleaned? What can I do to help? Regards.--Rberchie (talk) 09:50, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Hello Rberchie. CCI is a rather long process and it can take many years for an investigation to be completed and the articles be cleaned. The investigation regarding you has not yet been opened and is currently just a request for investigation. I would recommend reading this about what you could do to help. Thanks. Stub contest

I see you've made a fantastic start on it. Just noticed it. £50 wouldn't make it worthwhile so I won't bother, especially as you've practically already won it. I was considering making a proposal to WMUK for me to run a stub contest throughout the year with more handsome prizes.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:48, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Doc! I would sign up to something like that lasting throughout the year as having more time would let me focus on other stuff like GAs. When I was looking into articles to expand I noticed your large-scale efforts (especially with Italian provinces!) last year. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 11:58, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Basically through the WMUK grant there's a maximum of £2000 available for a request. I was going to propose £2000 allocated for six contests throughout the year, or three or four contests with top prize money ideally nearer £200-250 in Amazon vouchers for top prize to attract more people. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:04, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
That sounds good - then people wouldn't need to wait a year for another contest. The more content that gets improved, the better. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 12:07, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
What would you prefer? Six contests, one every two months with a prize no more than £100 or three or four with top prize £250?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:14, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
I'd say that three or four contests would attract more people in the long run due to the higher monetary incentives, whereas six contests could be seen as a bit excessive and repetitious (i.e. like the WikiProject drives that seem to be always going on) - but that could attract regular involvement. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 12:21, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
I'd definitely worry that six was too many..even four....not sure.....glad someone else is thinking of dangling carrots :) Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:46, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
@Casliber: I think one every quarter would be OK, but you or I should be compensated too for the same spent running it I think.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:31, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Oooh, now that's a sensitive area for all volunteer groups I've been involved with.....honoraria......Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:19, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Do you have ideas?

I just created Syllabical and Steganographical table. Do you have any ideas how I might be able to get an image of the title page? Already emailed Philadelphia Historical Society, Michigan State University, and New York Public Library = no luck yet. I live in Michigan. You can answer on your page.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 13:18, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

I'd recommend contacting people in New York who could potentially make an image of the title page for you. A large number of universities in the US seem to have a copy of a book, with some offering online copies to students, but I am unsure whether these may be scans or text-only. The National Library of Australia have a copy online (as well as the State Library of New South Wales here) available to library card holders, but the same applies.
