Initialisms

[edit]

Hey Thi, please don't insist in abbreviating names of politicians and replacing political parties with their initialisms. Full names make the articles more clear to the ordinary reader who is not accustomed to Brazilian politics. I noticed that you have been blocked on the Portuguese Wikipedia four times already for similar reasons; please don't be stubborn here, too. Thanks, —capmo (talk) 01:37, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited José Reinaldo Tavares, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brazilian Labour Party. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:56, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive edits: removal of templates, persistent addition of unsourced content, and hiding people's full names

[edit]

You've been repeatedly warned by other editors not to replace every instance of a person's full name with their nicknames or surnames; it creates unnecessary ambiguity that prevents readers who are new to the topics from understanding the articles, and it violates WP:MOS. See WP:FULLNAME, WP:NCP, and MOS:PN for Wikipedia's guidelines regarding the presentation of people's names. In general, the first mention of a person's name should always be the full name by which they are commonly known; subsequent mentions of that person may use just the surname as long as this does not leave room for confusion. Per WP:OVERLINK, links should usually appear only once in an article, and therefore, only the first instance of a name should generally be linked. In other words, we don't link names every single time they appear, just the first time.

This stubborn habit of yours is problematic enough, considering you've been warned more than once but continue to remove people's full names and restore redundant wikilinks after they've been fixed. But this, in combination with your persistent removal of valid templates, and your continued addition and restoration of unsourced content without providing any supporting references, is revealing a pattern of persistently disruptive behavior for which, as you've been warned before, you may be blocked if you don't improve your editing habits. The article Edson Vidigal has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
