Conflict of interest regarding certain music- and Sony-related articles and lists
[edit]Hello, Theolwrnc. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article List of Sony Music Entertainment labels, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The above comments also apply to the other article pages you have edited, including Sony Music Entertainment and List of Sony Music artists. In situations like yours, the best course of action is to recommend a change on the article's talk page and state that you are not editing the article directly due to a conflict of interest. I do want to thank you for declaring your conflict of interest on my user talk page diff, but you should consider posting a similar declaration on your user page and at the top of your user talk page.
Wikipedia is not the place to promote yourself
[edit]I looked through all of your edits and I did a Google search to try to find anything significant about the company whose name you inserted in 3 pages recently. There were some promotional web sites that mentioned you and a few sites that gave trivial or "directory listing"-type information about the company. I had a hard time finding any evidence suggesting that the company met the criteria to be included in these list-type articles in the first place. Since Wikipedia is not a place to promote yourself, I undid the edits you made to the 3 pages I mentioned above. Before editing further, please read WP:What Wikipedia is not, particularly the sections titled "Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion" and "Wikipedia is not a directory." Thanks. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:50, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
I have reverted (undone) some further unsourced additions you made to various lists. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a place for promotion. So please do not try to use Wikipedia to promote yourself or your company. The subjects of our articles have to meet certain notability requirements and be written from a neutral point of view. Thank you. – Wdchk (talk) 12:46, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Theo Lawrence
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Theo Lawrence requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JamesG5 (talk) 16:55, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Autobiographies & Wikipedia
[edit]Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Theo Lawrence. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Theo Lawrence
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Theo Lawrence, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - @Theolwrnc: Not trying to be rude here, but the page keeps getting deleted for the same reasons. As noted above, per WP:AUTOBIO you shouldn't be making pages about yourself, and ANY page must have reliable sources & show notability. If you keep reposting the page, especially without addressing those issues, an admin is likely to block your account AND ban an article from being created with your name in it. Please take some time to look at the policies here. JamesG5 (talk) 07:16, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Theolwrnc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Promotion on your user page
[edit]Theo, the reason your user page keeps getting blanked is because of the WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK policies. A specific part of that is not putting promotional info on the page, and if you look at this example you'll see it says "This includes creating userboxes and categories meant for use on userpages that promote the same agendas." You've put the userbox back, someone's going to see that and have your page wiped again. It's been pointed out before, but you should really read WP:PROMO. The whole issue is that you're using Wikipedia to promote your musical career. No one's trying to pick on you or attack you, but if you keep doing stuff like that sooner or later an admin will block you. I'd hate to see that happen, we need more Wikipedians. But you can't use it for promotion. JamesG5 (talk) 04:29, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
April 2016
[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to User:Theolwrnc. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. JamesG5 (talk) 05:43, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
- Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at User:Theolwrnc, you may be blocked from editing. JamesG5 (talk) 06:24, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Credible claim of significance. Bazj (talk) 07:39, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Theolwrnc/sandbox
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:Theolwrnc/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Theolwrnc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Draft:Lawrence Theo, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
