Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
I guess I was under the impression it was a set of graphic novels... anyway, I do find it disturbing that it only got all the reviews it got once it was published as a graphic novel, but not when it was a webcomic! That really tells you a lot about those publications and the people that write for them. --Historyday01 (talk) 16:57, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just the one book (at least in English). And I corrected it because I'm working on the Wikipedia page for the Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic, and On a Sunbeam got nominated for that. So at least some people took note of it! --Thematthewmurray (talk) 17:02, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, cool. Yeah, I don't know if there are any awards for LGBT webcomics out there (I'm pretty sure there's something), but there are sadly a lot of comics which are really good, which I'm reading right now (mostly on Webtoon) but no one reviews them or anything, which is sad.
I helped create the American Library Association's Graphic Novel and Comics Round Table's "Best Webcomics" list. It won't launch until next year, but I'm hoping it can bring more attention to webcomics. : ) --Thematthewmurray (talk) 17:34, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. The more attention to webcomics, the better! I really like Mage & Demon Queen (I created the page for it, of course), Gacha Girl (lesbian characters), The Prettiest Platypus (trans protagonist), Kiss It Goodbye (lesbian characters), My Days With You (lesbian characters), Knight of Granmere (lesbian characters), Spellbound (lesbian characters), That Awkward Magic!! (gay characters), My Dictator Boyfriend (gay characters), Fluidium (trans/non-binary characters), My Dragon Girlfriend (lesbian and bi characters), The Four of Them (gay and lesbian characters), Cursed Princess Club (some lesbian characters), Tea for Two (gay characters), LoveBot (gay characters), 180 Angel (lesbian characters), Tamberlane (a whole bunch of LGBTQ characters), and Chroma Key (basically everyone in the main cast is LGBTQ), among a bunch of others, all on Webtoon. It's hard to keep up with all of them, but they are all definitely worth it. And slowly, I'm trying to make pages for these comics, as much as I can. --Historyday01 (talk) 17:52, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you're looking for other queer webcomics to make Wikipedia pages for As the Crow Flies by Melanie Gillman or The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O'Neill might be good options. (They've both been nominated for awards, so it might be easier to find some material about them.) Thematthewmurray (talk) 03:20, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
