Non-free rationale for File:Freedom sculpture-logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Freedom sculpture-logo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:18, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Ciyos Guran has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Use of photographs

[edit]

Greetings, I am writing on behalf of Deborah Smith Ford and her page. I'm Janna Joos her agent. I have read the "warnings" and am trying to abide by them by removing most of what I think is incorrect and slowly adding more. Thank you for your support in all those areas.

In the area of photos - would someone please guide me to the area that states which photos are allowed and how to submit them? When she has permission from photographers to use photos, they are hers, she owns them. I just double checked with one photographer, and he confirmed that. I understand if you need something in writing. If so, what is it? I've already asked said photographer what he uses, and he uses his word or a simple email saying similar to "Photos I take are yours, but I prefer you credit me when you can."

I've been an agent for decades and handle much of my talents' images, but this is new to me. Other than selfies "someone" has to take another's photo. We do not have any paperwork to prove who owns what, but again, please direct me to where that is explained and what is needed by Wikipedia? Sorry that I can't find that area. What about when friends and family take photos? Jannajoos (talk) 16:16, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Qualifications on representations

[edit]

Greetings from Janna Joos, I just wrote about photos but thought I should respond to another of your/Wiki's concerns.

This is about: A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject.

I'm quite sure that is referring to me, but actually wouldn't it refer to anyone who represents someone else and has such detailed information about them? In my case Ford has been one of my many professional talents for over a decade. We have a professional connection, and this is one of those incidents - helping her professionally by getting her on Wikipedia. Since I represent her, one of many others, I have offered to step in and submit Ford to Wikipedia. Yes, she gives me any information I need, although after having worked with her a long time I know a lot about her. I keep files on each talent.

I have to admit that this is the first time though that I have attempted to submit anyone to Wikipedia, so I hope I am not reflecting poorly to you or being a hinderance to Ford possibly keeping her out of Wikipedia. IF Ford does not qualify would someone please inform me immediately so everyone's time is not further wasted. Thank you. Jannajoos (talk) 16:35, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Important notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

@GorillaWarfare: Hello Madam,! Unfortunately, I was busy with my cancer disease and I wasn't active here for almost a year. So What is that? Sanctions? It sounds Orwellian and Ministry of Truth-ish to me. Can you describe this please, that why is this in my talk-page? What's the relation? I hope we don't need to fight back any unnecessary regulations. Regards. The Stray Dog Talk Page 23:55, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In a nutshell, discretionary sanctions are authorized in contentious topic areas that are particularly prone to disruptive editing. Post-1992 American politics is one of them. All it means is that uninvolved administrators can levy harsher sanctions (nothing Orwellian—just a catch-all term to describe blocks, topic bans, etc.) on editors when they are disruptive in the topic area. As this notice mentions, this is just to inform you that they have been authorized in this topic area, and is not itself any kind of sanction or threat of sanction. I hope that helps; you'll also find additional info in the linked portions of the notice. GorillaWarfare (talk) 01:37, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Iranian pizza for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Iranian pizza is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iranian pizza until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Let's Go Brandon! requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion/Fuck Joe Biden. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 05:29, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GhostOfDanGurney: Let's go Brandon's article was not made, it was just a wrong redirect to another article. So speedy deletion is invalid. I removed the tag. It's obvious that Let's Go Brandon deserves to have its own articlce in Wikipedia, and it will. It satisfies our main giuidlines for creating an article. Best regards. [edit]

Evidently, I didn't know what I was talking about. I apologize for the disruption. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 18:58, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GhostOfDanGurney: Dude, you're great. You don't need to apologize. This topic is highly political and some users don't like it. That's understandable. Some get emotional about certain topics that are challenging to their own bias, and It's a natural routine. We are all human beings and we all are biased, but we just need to tame our bias when it comes to editing an encclopedia. Which is a thing that I am definitely sure you apply more than me. Stop disrupting the talk:Fascism page

[edit]

Reliable sources say fascism is a right-wing ideology, which is explained very well in the FAQ. Just because it doesn’t align with your odd, narrow personal definition of “right-wing” as only referring to Right-libertarianism doesn’t make it not true or “biased”, and WP:BLUDGEONING isn’t going to change that. Dronebogus (talk) 12:59, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dronebogus: Wikipedia article talk pages are for discussion about an article. And I exactly did that. I did only express and share my civil and polite opinion about an article. I was discussing Wikipedia rules. The article says "fascism is a right-wing ideology", despite the fact that right-wing discourse is quite the opposite of fascist discourse. Fascism is about "absolute government control" and right-wing discourse is about limiting and minimizing government control. So that statement in that article is paradoxical and mathematically non-factual and non-objective and only relies on biased anti-right-wing media outlets. It is left-wing propaganda. That violates many Wikipedia policies including Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Talk pages are not shown in the search engines and they are just there to talk. So I technically did not disrupt anything. I just want to keep Wikipedia articles neutral and not written in the point of view of one side against the other. If that's POV it must be put in POV sections, not in the lead section. That violates the rule Wikipedia:Lead. Then what are you so upset about? Please stop labeling me. This encyclopedia is a place for tolerance when it comes to opposition views. So be tolerant of opposition views and try not to silence the other side by labeling them because that act will defeat the purpose of a talk page. Thank you very much. The Stray Dog Talk Page 17:07, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This isn’t a continuation of the “debate” (which is firmly cut and dry per the giant warning sticker on the talk page and explained in depth at talk:Fascism/FAQ). This is a warning, which I’ve tried to be polite about. If you continue to bludgeon your personal opinions on talk:fascism you will be reported. Dronebogus (talk) 20:55, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
