List of consorts

Hello! I admire your work on the different lists of royal consorts you have made! I have noticed several you may be interested on improving: List of Swedish consorts, List of Norwegian queens, List of Danish royal consorts. Just some tips! --85.226.45.227 (talk) 12:09, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Broken reference

I saw the article List of Aquitainian consorts. In this edit somebody added a broken reference to Philippa of Toulouse called "Navarre". Would you be able to provide the details for this reference? Debresser (talk) 22:13, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

As to your remark "Did she ever exist?". I removed it, since it is not encyclopedical to add such a remark. You could add a {{Dubious}} template (or another template with appropriate content). I've left you one there in remark tags, which you could remove, if you like. Debresser (talk) 22:18, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Little spy... Debresser (talk) 19:45, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh yeah sorry I didn't reply. The Navarre is a mistake that was left undeleted when I copy Philippa from the List of Aragonese consorts. The "Did she ever exist?" was supposed to be a note. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 00:49, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Ok. So I deleted that Navarre reference. Are there sources that specifically state that her historical existence is doubted or something like that, or is that your own understanding of the available sources? Debresser (talk) 05:04, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Something on wikipedia--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 00:25, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Not on William II, Duke of Aquitaine (her husband) or Louis_V_of_France (her son in law) and their talk pages. So Iremoved the dubious tag since it has no basis. Debresser (talk) 00:37, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
No the Louis V's article say nothing about any marriage to an Blanche of Aquitaine. Louis V only married Adelaide of Anjou. There is no such mention in the German or French wikipedia (I don't read any of those language but I saw no mention of the name Blanche). And speaking of William II, Duke of Aquitaine, nowhere could I find any reference to a Gerletta in all the language article of William II (her husband), Rollo (her father), and Poppa de Bayeux (her mother); there is no mention of a Blanche. There was a daughter of Rollo named Gerloc but she married William II's sucessor's sucessor, William III. I think that how the confusion started a William of Aquitaine marrying a daughter of Rollo of Normandy and Poppo de Bayeux. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 01:12, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
I searched a little with Google. William II of Normandy married Gerletta daughter of Rollo and Poppa, according to [1] and [2], and had a daughter Blanca, who married Louis V of France. (Note that the first link says that this was William II the Count of Poictou, while the second says that the Count of Poictou was another William II.) [3] just mentiones that a Blanche married Louis V. I put up a note at Louis V of France to include this information in the article. Debresser (talk) 02:11, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Any idea as to the birth, death and marriage of this Blanche of Aquitaine. If that is true than she was the Queen of Western Francia and deserve a spot in the List of Frankish queens. Was this a legal marriage or was she a mistress? And it makes no sense the French and German wikipedia would leave this out, usually they are clearer about the European royalties.
See source #3 fro the detailes you asked about. I'm really not qualified at all as an historician. I have no idea where to find reliable information about all these things. This I foundto help you along in solving the question of here existence, which seems clear now. She was him wife for only the last year of his life, and perhaps that had something to do with less information being available about her. Debresser (talk) 09:11, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Strange, I don't see a consort of Louis V, not in List of Frankish queens nor in [[List of French consorts]. Debresser (talk) 09:50, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
That is because I created the first article and I didn't see any reference to a wife of Louis V during his reign.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 23:39, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Wait hold it! I found another possiblity to supported my assumptions that there was no Blanche of Aquitaine. The links you give me are not that reliable and Louis V's first spouse Adelaide of Anjou was nicknamed la Blanche (the White), and I think that is another possible path for errors. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 00:05, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Source #2 counts both marriages. Source #3 give 985 as date of marriage, a year after the divorce with Adelaide. But I am realy not an expert. Debresser (talk) 18:27, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Isabella of France

Hi -- I saw you added her to "Royal consorts of Aquitaine", and was wondering why. I'm not rejecting this, just would like to know the connection, since she was the daughter of the King of France. Looie496 (talk) 14:52, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah. Her husband Edward II of England was the Duke of Aquitaine making her the Queen consort of England and the Duchess consort of Aquitaine. It wouldn't matter that she was the daughter of the King of France. I don't see how come she can't be a duchess by marriage and a daughter of the French king. "of Castile and Leon"

Hello! We usually do not include more than one territorial designation in the title of an article. The articles are not named Mary I of England and Ireland, Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, King of Castile, Aragon, Leon, Duke of Burgundy,... or Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Bahamas, ... Surtsicna (talk) 17:54, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

If you are bored... :D

Hi! If you're bored, you could redecorate List of Danish consorts, List of Norwegian consorts, and List of Swedish consorts. Almost all pre-1905 Norwegian consorts were also consorts to the monarchs of Sweden and/or Denmark, so it shouldn't be too hard :D Surtsicna (talk) 18:25, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Ok I redid the Swedish consorts and I am now working on Norway and Denmark but I need you to do me a little favor. Can you give me the House names of all the Danish monarchs prior to the Kalmar Union? List of Danish monarchs doesn't give them and the monarch template doesn't help since it says House of Ylvinga when most of the articles for the monarchs say House of Estridsen. And who were the Knytlinga, the monarchs before them? --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 17:48, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Creating subtitles for every royal house that reigned in Denmark prior to the Kalmar Union would make the article messy. Just put them under "Consorts of the early monarchs". By the way, the word is accession, not ascession :) Surtsicna (talk) 18:13, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Ok.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 18:21, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

consorts of Bavaria

If you are going to make a page on the duchesses of Bavaria then you may as well add it to your page on queens of bavaria. cheers--Daaviiid 15:46, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
