List of anime conventions
Sorry if I seemed to have taken it out on you. That was not the case. But I had a serious problem, if you'll notice the edits and the above section on the talk page, someone was trying to turn the page into advertising for every (and I do mean every) anime-related event out there, even non-convention ones like lectures, one-time cosplay dances, small Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments at the local anime store and so forth and so on. I'd hit my limit in regards to it, so again, I apologize.
As for your con, if you're the only (or the largest) con in your state, that's fine. We're trying to avoid having 300 different one-day, 20-people-attended "microcons" on there when having up to ten suffices. And actually, if you can help assist on watching the page as well, I'd appreciate the hand.--み使,, Mitsukai 02:58, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- That's Ok. I figured that there had to a reason why you seemed to have snaped at the edit on an issue that had nothing to do with the edit itself.--TheFarix 03:12, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Noticed you reverted the changes regarding Texas conventions OniCon and AnimeFEST. FYI, Both meet the 2-2-3 requirements for inclusion and Mitsukai added them back a few weeks ago. Echocharlie 15:15, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Heya, I didn't know if you were interested, but I just set up the Wikipedia:WikiProject Japanese mythology, if you're interested in joining. Please feel free to let anyone else know if you think they might be interested as well. Thanks.--み使,, Mitsukai 03:08, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Anime and manga barnstar
Something you might be interested in. Ynhockey and I have been working for some time now on coming up with a design for an Anime and manga barnstar (if you're not familiar with what a barnstar is, see here), or more accurately, a "BarnSakura". If you're interested in the idea, please check into the discussion over here.--み使,, Mitsukai 02:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
RE: WikiProject Anime and manga participation
You are listed at a participant of WikiProject Anime and manga. A recent change in how participants are listed -- using a category -- will result in your inadvertent removal from the project. If you wish to continue your participantion, please check the the project page for details on how to add yourself back to the project. --TheFarix 00:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Why are participants threatened? Can't we focus on writing anime articles rather than forcing a structure on participants' userpage?
- Also, what category? I dont see such a category on my userpage...
- --Cool CatTalk|@ 09:37, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- There was some complaining about maintaining the participant list and if there was a way to automate it. I suggested using a category and before I knew it someone created and changed the userbox to include the new category. I would have preferred more discussion fist, but since the category has been it's been created, I'm just following through. The category listing participants is Category:WikiProject Anime and manga participants.
- No one has any intention of kicking anyone else out of the project. However, not everybody uses the userbox on their userpage. So I thought it best to notify those individuals about the changes and how to add themselves back to the list. I figured that was better then editing their userpage, which may not go over well with them. --TheFarix (Talk) 12:21, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh I see. Why didnt you say that in the first place :) I am still in the game then ^_^' --Cool CatTalk|@ 20:00, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for catching those WP shortucts I missed when processing Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Avoid conditional templates. They have been deleted. xaosflux Talk/CVU 02:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Animania
Thanks for helping keep the Animania article on track with WP policy. As you might have guessed, the IP making big edits is actually part of Aurora, who I invited to help improve the page, but I just need to educate him on some of the finer points of Wiki etiquette like WP:NOT, WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:CITE, etc. I've invited him to discuss his point of view on the Talk page, so hopefully we can come to some kind of agreement about what does and doesn't belong in the article.
Then, once that's taken care of, I plan to get my hands on a couple of good photos from some friends who have been to the convention, put it up on Peer Review again, and --who knows?-- maybe even make it the first convention article to make featured status! (I can dream ...) Confusing Manifestation 12:21, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- True, but the policy does state that they're welcome to come in once the article is already created and help improve it. The trick is getting them to know what is improvement and what is pushing POV. Confusing Manifestation 04:32, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Proper use of caption
Hi,
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Princess_Mononoke&curid=24653&diff=46661050&oldid=46652459
what would you suggest? I know these are animes, but they are also film, in fact the infobox is Film, not anime. Federico Pistono ✆ ✍ 11:12, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- I would suggest creating a new field for the Film Infobox for IMDb ratings. Caption should only be used to describe the image. --TheFarix (Talk) 11:33, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- So, is it fine something like "rating" instead, directly in the template? Right now I have a lesson, I'll fix it up later if you don't have time as well.Federico Pistono ✆ ✍ 12:15, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

um.... is this not proof? (i dont know) http://www.animecons.com/events/info.shtml/945
Ok I'm an Ass
What can I say... sometimes I get carried away. Anyway the edits I make are not intended to be harmful. I guess I'm still experimenting with the Wikipedia style and HTML rules as well as just trying to put some effort and enthusiasm in the articles.

Seiyu vs Voice Actor
From Seiyu: A Seiyū (声,,, also transliterated seiyuu or simply seiyu) is a Japanese term meaning "voice actor." Seiyū work in radio, television and movies, perform voice-overs for non-Japanese movies and provide narration. The most well-known seiyū work as anime and video game character actors. When speaking of a character in a series translated into English, conventional usage among American fans is to use "seiyū" to refer to the Japanese actor and "voice actor" for the English one.
Please do not edit war over this! Kyaa the Catlord 11:44, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Second warning. Do not edit war over this. Deleting and changing information to reflect YOUR POV is vandalism. Kyaa the Catlord 11:53, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- You are the one conducting vandalism this time. There is currently no status quo and "Voice by" was what was originally used in Simoun (anime) and you where the one that came in and change to to match your POV preference. --TheFarix (Talk) 11:59, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Dorama v Drama
But Dorama is fairly widely used in English. The Dorama Encyclopedia : A Guide to Japanese TV Drama Since 1953 (Amazon.com) for example. - Yyyyyyyyyyy 13:31, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Seiyū RfC
I actually don't think we need to have an RfC for this. The general usage I've seen has been to use "seiyū" when referring to the Japanese voice actor, and "voice actor" when referring to any other voice actor ("voice actor" is gender neutral in this case, too). Using "voiced by" with a link to seiyū is fine in an article where you're listing people who voiced characters, but I think in articles about seiyū, seiyū should be used. I generally put "seiyū, or voice actor,..." though I'm sure I've forgotten a few times. ```--本穣 Talk to Nihonjoε 04:00, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
More explicit listings to anime con list
I hope you can understand my frustration at finding what I considered to be a good con removed from a con listing, especially when the requirements aren't listed on the main page. The page is misnamed, since it should be "List of large anime conventions" where large is defined on the page, not a separate page (having the requirements defined on the talk smacks of elitism). It seems contrary to the nature of Wikipedia, especially since (AFAICT), the con I listed meets all the requirements -- 8 years of existance, thousands in attendance, one planned for next year, etc.
I ask that you at least describe the requirements on the page in question and link to the larger category, making it clearer to people what is going on. I'd put in the edits myself, but I have a feeling that my work would be reverted. Plus this way it'd meet with your approval right away. Thanks.

Oh I'm sorry; it just bugged me and I wasn't thinking. I'll make sure not to make the same mistake next time.--Juhachi 02:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Anime articles standing out
I know you're just following guidelines. And I understand how you feel and I'll try to respect it... but I like things to stand out and announce themselves. With the current format, there's no way some things stand out. It just looks like a part of the paragraph.
I simply thought I would make bold type that will still follow format. guidelines. BiggKwell 18:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Could you give me an example, please? BiggKwell 20:02, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Question about edit at Earth Girl Arjuna
Hey, thanks for formatting the character section correctly. A question though, you changed the "Notes" section to be titled "References" - which it was until my last edit, when I changed it to notes, cause I realized that's what it says to do at WP:FOOT. Is there a reason it is supposed to be References instead that I'm missing? -Goldom (t) (Review) 04:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I didn't realize it at first either, but I think (according to the example on that page, anyway) Notes is for the footnotes, References is for a list of references, not neccisarily cited ones. Though it says (somewhere) they could also be combined into Notes and References. -Goldom (t) (Review) 04:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- You're right it probably doesn't matter too much which it is. And that right now, it isn't really much more than a list of sources. I guess that's the same thing I was being told on the project talk page, that I should make them into actual notes with quotes/explaining what's being references. So I guess when I do get around to that, I'll make it into a "Notes and References", and leave it til then. -Goldom (t) (Review) 04:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Reverts
I see you revert me between edits. May I inquire the reason for the hurry? --Cat out 15:24, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- "hurry" is relative. But I am free to correct what I interpret is the misuse of {{Infobox animanga}} fields. --TheFarix (Talk) 16:23, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- I do not believe I am misusing the template. Who determines what constitutes as a misuse? --Cat out 19:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Q about edit on Onmyou Taisenki
I don't understand why you deemed the list I added to be "unusable nonsence" It's a list of all the shikigami and their information for reference. Unusable? Nonsense? I don't get it. -Snoopy007 3:59, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- It just looked like a big list of crap and I couldn't tell what it was, what it was for, or why it was put on the article. It took up way to much space on the article but added nothing to it, hence "unusable nonsense". --TheFarix (Talk) 11:03, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps you "couldn't tell what it was" because you've never seen the show??? The list is for anyone who would want to know about any information regarding the shikigami (basically the MAIN FOCUS of the show) and the many special techniques performed. Of course that list is incomplete and more information needs to be added, and I agree that it does add much space on the article, so it might be more fitting for the table to have its own page. Nevertheless, I find it pretty unfair and arrogant that because you don't comprehend something you deem it useless -Snoopy007 21:34, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps you "couldn't tell what it was" because you've never seen the show??? Take that statement, review Wikipedia:Fancruft, and then think about it for a moment. If it requires you to see the show to understand what the list is about, then perhaps the list shouldn't be slapped on a wikipedia article. --TheFarix (Talk) 20:44, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
False Accusations
I dislike to be subject to false accusaions. I never suggested the Air list wont achieve featured status if it does not use the OMG style. I did say however Episode screenshots may be an abuse of Fair-use on lists. Thought you wouldn't mind this clarification --Cat out 12:37, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
