Information icon Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Carmen Moore, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Carmen Moore. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:33, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see... I can understand, but I went in and added things because a fan had messaged me on Facebook to let me know he had "spruced up" my Wiki page and there were some things added that a) I didn't want there. b) were wrong How else am I to make sure information about me is correct? I've messaged someone else who appears to have gone in and made changes to the page as well. I'm just asking for guidance here. Was there anything about what I wrote that you found offensive? Because it's all just factual as far as I'm concerned. Also, I noticed that there are photos linked to my Wiki page that are not of me and on the Drunktown's Finest page, there's a link to my page of the other Carmen Moore that starred in that movie. She's not me. Perhaps you know how to remove them?

Request reason:

I don't feel like I've done anything wrong. I just want info posted about me to be correct

Decline reason:

Hi Carmen, while it's understood you want to have information about you correct on Wikipedia, we have blocked the account not for anything you did wrong, but for your protection. From WP:REALNAME: "If you have been blocked for using your real name, please do not take offense; we are trying to prevent somebody from impersonating you (or impersonating someone you share a name with). You are welcome to use your real name, but in some cases, you will need to prove that you are who you say you are. You can do this by sending an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that emails are handled by a volunteer response team and that it may take a while before you receive a reply." IF you could, please send an email to the address above, and we can help you out. RickinBaltimore (talk) 00:22, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, TheCarmenMoore, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Orange Mike | Talk 21:33, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

[edit]

Last year I was messaged by a 'fan' to let me know he had spruced up my Wikipedia page...I was slightly horrified, since he had added things I don't really want the world to know, and also false information. Not to mention, he wasn't so much with the words ;) So, I went in and removed what I didn't want (and the lies) and added a few unknown facts. Everything up there is now true.

The page was flagged and my account blocked, since I didn't know I wasn't allowed to talk about myself in this forum...hence the request. Apparently the page needs some cleaning up, and a more neutral point of view...which I'm fine with. As long as it's true...as long as my birth YEAR isn't listed (I've lost jobs because of it), and as long as the photos attached to the page are actually of me (not the transgendered porn star TS Carmen Moore).

Wrong venue. Please move to Talk:Carmen Moore

Please note: COI edit requests must include complete and specific descriptions of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "Please change X to Y" --Spintendo ᔦᔭ 00:16, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Cordless Larry. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Carmen Moore, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Cordless Larry (talk) 13:32, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hello TheCarmenMoore. I see that you've never been properly welcomed, so see below for the standard message. That should give you an idea of what is expected from a contributor.

Welcome!

Hello, TheCarmenMoore, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

I see that you've been having some difficulty, to say the least. I'd like to say this is unique, but unfortunately it is not. Wikipedia has a lot of rules and policies, many of which are described in the links I provided above. Even after reading them it may take a long time of editing here to really understand how and why they are implemented. Believe it or not, most are designed to protect the subjects of our articles, but in doing so that often makes it difficult for those subjects to correct problems with their own articles. (Each coin has two sides.) I apologize for the blunt and rather bureaucratic reception you have received. It's easy to forget how hard it can be in the beginning. To help you, please look at the policy links I provided above. Zaereth (talk) 21:19, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
