- Hi, the subject was vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia. He meets the subjective criteria of notability. TheAutumnal (talk) 13:52, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

- Hi @Zoglophie, I'm sorry but I find this behaviour ridiculous. The person was a vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and passes the subjective criteria of notability set for academicians. Your call for sources is an improvement call. The article could be improved whilst in mainspace. TheAutumnal (talk) 14:09, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- You should improve the article as already been directed by another reviewer or we cannot accept it in encyclopaedia. zoglophie•talk• 14:15, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Zoglophie, no, it does not happen this way. At the AfC, we accept drafts if they satisfy Wikipedia's notability criteria - and this article clearly does. Articles can be tagged for improvements but merely declining a draft which doesn't happen to have a lot of resources and telling article creators that such articles won't be accepted is not just unethical of this encyclopedia, but also a wrong interpretation of the notability criterias. Prof Ali Ashraf meets WP:NACADEMIC#6 criteria with him being a vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, one of the most-prominent universities in India. I have approved the draft. ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:43, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Citations were also not properly filled. Maybe they should have read WP:YFA before jumping into submitting an article. zoglophie•talk• 14:51, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- You are right but new users expect a more friendly behaviour from reviewers. It does not take more than to minute to fix a malformed citation. It is not good to straightaway decline a which has a sourced-claim of significance, which demonstrates notability. We should try to help new editors understand the ecosystem in a friendly manner. Best regards, ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:02, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
