[edit]Hello, I'm Mvcg66b3r. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, KCTV, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. wtv-zone.com appears to be down. You may want to find another source; ask @Sammi Brie: for help. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 18:20, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 06:54, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
Please do not remove file deletion tags from file description pages on Wikipedia without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:53, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to KVIE, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Why do you keep adding needless cruft even after Sammi's concerns? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 12:07, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove a file deletion tag from the description page of a Wikipedia file without resolving the problem that the tag refers to. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 06:40, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Dmartin969. I noticed that you recently removed content from Heartbreak Ridge without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. –DMartin 05:18, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- Please remember to use an edit summary to prevent these unnecessary reverts from happening in future. –DMartin 05:25, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Mvcg66b3r. An edit that you recently made to WMC-TV seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Mvcg66b3r (talk) 12:18, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at WSB-TV, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 14:25, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Maine Public Broadcasting Network into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 18:40, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Chuck Scarborough in 2014.webp
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Chuck Scarborough in 2014.webp. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:33, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Sue Simmons in 2007.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sue Simmons in 2007.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:52, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Cruft, TV articles, and you
[edit]Hi! I'm Sammi. I write articles on radio and TV stations around here. I've seen some of your edits since joining Wikipedia, and I'm a little concerned that they're not up to our standards.
Some problems we have had in TV, unfortunately, have been typified by your edits:
- Too many logos: Non-free fair use logos are one-to-a-page. Newspaper ads rarely qualify; image licensing isn't easy, but these pages are being loaded up in exactly the ways I've been working to combat with logos that aren't relevant and content we don't have the rights to use.
- Too much cruft: Let's just say that one of the articles I brought to good article status became 40 percent smaller because I removed so much dead weight. And that's not a unique experience. By using a tighter writing style and being judicious about what's actually encyclopedic, the quality of prose on pages I've improved is higher.
The number of user warnings you've received in a scant ten days reflects these issues, especially the image licensing. I'm offering my assistance; please feel free to ask questions you have. But your track record so far concerns me a lot. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:17, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
Draft article unnecessary
[edit]I wrote up a draft of an Wikipedia:Long-term abuse article for a series of sockpuppets belonging to a user named Shawntheshipper. Having since figured out how to create a proper project page for that, I feel that the draft is unnecessary and filed a speedy deletion notice for it on the relevant page. Please purge that page for me. Thank you. That Article Editing Guy (talk) 12:42, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use tag removal
[edit]I note that on several occasions, you have removed F7 deletion request tags from images you uploaded yourself (ex: [1], [2]). The uploader of an image is not permitted to remove an F7 deletion request from it. You can, per the instructions on it, note that you dispute the request and why, but do not remove them. Please ensure that you do not do this again. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:25, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

- Hi That Article Editing Guy. Non-free images of still living persons are pretty much never allowed per non-free content use criterion #1 since it's pretty always reasonable to expect that a free equivalent capable of serving the same encyclopedic purpose as any non-free one can either be found or newly created as explained in WP:FREER and item 1 of WP:NFC#UUI. Wikipedia's non-free content use policy can be trickly to navigate because it's quite restrictive; so, it's easy, even for very experienced editors, to make mistakes. If that's what happened here, then that's OK; just please keep this in mind when considering whether to upload any similar files in the future. Now, if you agree with my assessment of this file's non-free use, that's also OK. You can if you want dispute the speedy deletion requet by following the instructions given in the template that I added to the file's page. What you shouldn't do is remove that template yourself because it will only be re-added everytime you do so. If you keep removing the template each time it's re-added, a Wikipedia administrator will most likely step in and warn you not to continue to do so. Continuing to do so after that point, almost certainly will lead to your account being blocked for edit warring. So, the best thing to do if you feel the file's non-free use complies with relevant Wikipedia policy is to follow the intructions given in the template. An administrator will review the file in a few days and figure out what to do with it. If they feel the file's non-free use should be further discussed, they will remove the speedy deletion template and state as much; if they don't, they will delete the file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:34, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:WGRZ call letter announcement.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:WGRZ call letter announcement.jpg.
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
Thank you. Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:34, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (3rd request)
[edit] It appears that you copied or moved text from another page to Dreamin' My Dreams (Patty Loveless album). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s).
Repeated violations of Wikipedia's attribution requirements may result in the loss of editing privileges. November 2023
[edit]Hello! I noticed you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! — W.andrea (talk) 17:44, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
