  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.

The page Japan at the 2009 Asian Youth Games has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:53, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This article has previously been deleted twice, and I am really 'confused' as to why it had to be deleted. I have added more intelligent sources and I don't think this article is worth deleting. I ask that you please consider restoration. Thank You. Thanine Schagerl (talk) 00:44, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have deleted it again. Please have a look at the general notability guideline: pages should be built on reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The sources you used in the most recent article (and the previous one, and the one before that), were all either database sources or sources directly from the organisations themselves. When the community deletes articles through its consensus processes, you should not try to recreate them without trying to address their concerns. If you feel that the page was wrongly deleted, you should contact the administrator who deleted it and if they disagree, go to deletion review. Sdrqaz (talk) 14:35, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. I want to ask, is it possible to unprotect this article? Or can I try to develop this article again, and add reliable sources that are independent of the subject? Additionally, I apologize for my ignorance towards the community's concerns, and my reckless actions. Thanine Schagerl (talk) 14:49, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would prefer that you try to develop the page at Draft:Japan at the 2009 Asian Youth Games if you can find those independent reliable sources. Take note of the comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Japan at the 2009 Asian Youth Games while doing so: it may be that there simply isn't enough. All the best, Sdrqaz (talk) 16:44, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Japan at the 2009 Asian Youth Games

[edit]

Hello, Thanine Schagerl,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username FatCat96 and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Japan at the 2009 Asian Youth Games, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|FatCat96}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
