Edits to Jesus
Greetings, Teo64x. I took the liberty of reverting your edit to Jesus--the word "Christ" does mean annointed (as in "annointed with oil"), rather than appointed. :) Justin Eiler 21:20, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Justin! I just figured out that the Greek word χρίζω (which Christ comes from) means both "to appoint" and "to anoint". Although I'm Greek, I didn't know the second meaning (since it's not used like that anymore), hence my confusion. I'm sorry about that :) TEO 05:53, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Neat! I've only had the chance to study Koine Greek, not Modern Greek. :) Justin Eiler 16:50, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to the project
Hi! Happy to see you joining our project! I hope you'll enjoy your time contributing.--Yannismarou 19:25, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi, and welcome to the WikiProject Greece! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Greece.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our sidebar points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The Announcements and Open tasks section is updated quite regularly. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{HOGOpenTasks}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The peer review department of the project would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of Greek history, geography, culture etc. ? There is already one task force, and you could initiate the creation of more focusing on specific topics or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around!
Energy portal
Hi! As someone plugged into the Energy Portal, you might be interested to know that I've made a request for a portal peer review today - perhaps you might like to contribute your thoughts? If you haven't stopped by the Energy portal recently, you'll see that it's now looking rather different too! Gralo 18:45, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Spheeris' nationality
Chris Spheeris appears to be American-born from his website. Can he legitimately be called a "Greek composer?" Why not an American composer? Bruxism 04:44, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi there! :) Regarding Chris Spheeris' nationality, reading his site left me with the impression that he was born in USA while his parents were Greek. So, I thought that using the word Greek was okay. But I guess American-Greek is more accurate Teo64x 17:55, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Vangelis image
Could you post your rational for removing the image from the Vangelis article?. Equinoxe 16:31, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi! First off, I must make clear that I did not delete the file - it had already been deleted by someone else. I only removed from Vangelis the reference to that image, since there was only a red link there. I see that you reverted my edit. In fact, I still don't see a reason behind having a "dead" link in the infobox, but I'll leave this to your judgement. Teo64x 17:24, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Lazopoulos.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lazopoulos.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Enchantment.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Enchantment.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- For the record, the image in question has been tagged with the fair use template. Teo64x 17:12, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, my. I glanced at the history but didn't see that. I would have said obvious vandalism if it weren't for the modified image, too! --Dhartung | Talk 06:54, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Renaud Séchan
I've blocked the vandal who was hitting Renaud Séchan, instead of protecting the page. You can read WP:VAND for instructions on dealing with vandals, and how to warn them before reporting them to WP:AIV for blocking. Thanks! ··coelacan 07:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- I felt like warning them, but there were already many warnings in the talk page, so I thought that another warning wouldn't work. But anyway, thank you for your help :) Teo64x 07:39, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- It can be frustrating. Sometimes the only effect of warning is to make sure that the user will be blocked; when reporting to WP:AIV most admins will not block unless the user has received a level-4 warning within the past week. So even if giving the warning doesn't stop the vandalism, it's necessary to get the block that will stop the vandalism. =) Again, though, thanks for the report. You'll get the hang of it. ··coelacan 07:58, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I didn't know it worked this way =) Teo64x 08:37, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
