Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Metal (Tenacious D song sample).ogg)

Thanks for uploading Image:The Metal (Tenacious D song sample).ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean by riped. The only reason why most of the stuff is there is because they don't have their own discography page. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:53, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm done with the task and what is this supposed to mean "I am concerned about the way you are including Mark Lanegan's work with other bands. These FA rated lists feature artists who have contributed to another album, and album data has not been ripped wholesale from respective discographies: 50 Cent discography and Róisín Murphy discography (from Moloko)." They don't have their own discography page okay, get it. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 19:00, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
If your talking about the Quenns of The Stone Age section he was a member of the band it wasn't a collaboration. So yes it needs to stay. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 11:36, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

User:Keeper76/Rollback Keeper | 76 | what's in a name? 18:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I can remove the lanegan releases with other bands if you want to cause if thats your point i would gladly do it. Give me your answear and ill do it. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 22:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I've removed all Lanegans work with QOTSA, Screaming Trees and The Gutter Twins cause its not part of his solo work okay. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 10:38, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your support. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 16:06, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

The wording of this part seems a little awkward, and maybe could stand to be reworked a bit:

Black described his view that if drug use were legalized, the stigma attached to the users taking them, in his words,
feel "naughty", would be removed, making drug use seem mundane and less attractive."[106]

Other than that, the article is great - and I think you've done a great job - deserves recognition. Addionne (talk) 22:08, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I touched up a few things. The only thing I can think of left is the final paragraph of "Other Projects". I dont think Lee was mentioned at all in the article prior to that point, so the reader is left with the thought "who is this guy?". Perhaps he needs a sentence in the TV show section? Metao (talk) 01:13, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Sounds good to me! Metao (talk) 11:10, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Re your report on WP:AIV

Thanks for your report, however AIV is intended for urgent, ongoing vandalism. The article itself should be taken to WP:AfD - speedy deletion is not really appropriate for suspected hoax articles. EyeSerenetalk 11:31, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I've now listed it at AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tenacious D 3-D: Monsters Unleashed. Cheers, EyeSerenetalk 11:41, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Mind if I close this AfD since the significant content appears to have been merged? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(ChirpsClamsChowder) 15:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

AfDs

Please consider that it is neither necessary to nominate so many articles at once for deletion as there is no deadline nor is it really helpful, especially if all are in one area, since it costs some time to evaluate them, search for sources, etc. BTW, if the articles are closely related their nominations can be bundled.--Tikiwont (talk) 18:39, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

AFD

I noticed that you and I seem to have the same problem with Twinkle — i.e., that the {{afd1}} template shows up red linked on the article and acts as if an IP has placed it. I've reported this bug to the Twinkle talk page. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(ChirpsClamsChowder) 18:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Addams family pinball draft thing

I notice that you tagged a draft article for deletion. Rather than actually blamming it, I userfied it to User:Fractalchez/The Addams Family (pinball) Rewrite1. I'll monitor the rewrite, and ensure that it isn't moved back to the mainspace improperly. Thanks! UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

It's no problem at all - actually, when I went to delete the talk page, I saw that the user had not objected to the deletion, as he was done with the draft. So now he gets to tag it as a U1 (userspace) and it'll get deleted anyway. Just another Friday... Best, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:59, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

I had never heard of this band when I saw it nominated at AFD, but a few minutes searching on Google turned up significant coverage, and I have improved the article to a state where deletion is, frankly, a non-starter. I would be grateful if you could take a look at the article and, if you agree, withdraw the nomination. I would strongly recommend at least a brief search to try to determine notability before nominating articles for deletion, as nominations that have little chance of resulting in deletion only waste time. Thanks.--Michig (talk) 20:13, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Fixed it. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 09:32, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I checked it, it doesn't seem fixed. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 10:04, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

AfDs

You seem to be nominating a lot of articles. Please consider that it is neither necessary to nominate so many articles at once. Many of the articles could be nominated for Speedy Delete, could you think about doing this in future? Thanks. Rob Riv (talk) 11:31, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Two new sources have been added to the article since I listed it at afd. You might want to check it out again. Ten Pound Hammer Farfel and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 05:48, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Yo.

Hey would you consider List of Britney Spears songs to be along the same lines as the Erasure B-sides article you just nominated for AfD? This actually looks more cruft-y to me than if it was a list of her B-sides. Opinion? - eo (talk) 22:53, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

B-sides in discography articles.

B-sides are discouraged in discography articles.

Can you point me to more information on this? I've not heard it before, and I feel like discography articles are the place for this sort of information. / edg 00:16, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Non-notable tour AfD's

Hey ya TDF, I see you've been nominating a ton of non-notable tours for AfD. Do you know if there is specific criteria for judging the notability for a tour, like there is for bands, or are you just using the general notability guidelines?? I agree with 99.9% of your nominations, but I haven't taken part because I don't have a "delete per [[WP:INSERT-WIKI-GUIDELINE-HERE]]" to be able to quote from. Cheers  Esradekan Gibb  "Talk" 04:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi TD, can you possibly head back over the FLC and see if you think it's worthy of support or further comments? Cheers dude. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:26, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Also, if you have a moment, could you revisit Queens of the Stone Age discography and see if you think it's done enough to become featured? Cheers! The Rambling Man (talk) 16:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Double Team (Tenacious D song sample).ogg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:ClassicoVideo.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:ClassicoVideo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 14:47, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
