Fair use rationale for Image:Jack, Liam and Ronnie.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jack, Liam and Ronnie.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Tenacious_d.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tenacious_d.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

I am all for a Master Exploder page, but we should wait a few months to attempt it again. You tried too soon to reinstate it, in my opinion. Milchama 18:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- My suggestion is to wait after the movie comes out on DVD. At that point, more people will have seen the movie and possibly agree with us to make Master Exploder a standalone article. Milchama 19:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject
I think we should start a WikiProject on Tenacious D. What do you think? Milchama 21:02, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Testing
Thank you for experimenting with the page Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Raymond Arritt 13:38, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Creating new pages
Thanks for the explanation. If you need to experiment you can edit your own user page, or maybe your talk page. There's also an area called the "sandbox" that you can use. Never use an established page for testing out new ideas. A great deal of vandalism goes on here, so blanking out a whole page and replacing it like you did to The Beatles wikiproject will probably be assumed to be vandalism. If you need help, there are experienced people you can ask. (I'd give further advice myself, but have to leave in just a few minutes.) Good luck with your new project! The D
First, let me start off by saying that I haven't been trying to attack you or your Tenacious D articles, it's just that those articles don't fit in with Wikipedia's notability (see WP:NOTABILITY), and that's why I've nominated them for deletion. Anyway, I just thought I'd give you an idea: What if you created a Tenacious D wiki? Then you can put any D content you want without having to worry about Wikipedia's notability. Wikia is a place that offers free wikis, I think you basically sign up and then request to do a Tenacious D wiki. Joltman 14:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, GA reviewers should be independent
Hi. Articles must be evaluated by an independent person. The nominator, or someone who has worked extensively on the article, is not an independent judge!, and thus cannot grant GA status. Hope this clarifies things. The JPStalk to me 18:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Sure I will. Proof read and contribute. I'll see if any of my mates that love Tenacious D have wiki accounts and Ill see if i can get them joined in =D

I'd love to be apart of the awesome D projet. How do I join? I've got a lot of D knowledge i'd like to share!

Tenacious D
There are still some uncited statements. (Ibaranoff24 14:49, 22 January 2007 (UTC))
- Looking closer at the article, I actually only found one instance where a citation is needed:
The second single was "Wonderboy", which has since become popular in the US on both college radio[1] and modern rock stations.[citation needed]
- Ibaranoff24 14:56, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, that was it. I should note, though, that there two empty (red-linked) categories that should either be created, or removed from the article: Category:Jack Black and Category:Kyle Gass. (Ibaranoff24 15:02, 22 January 2007 (UTC))
- Your choice. (Ibaranoff24 15:11, 22 January 2007 (UTC))
06/07 Tour
Re: the "sucked into Hell" bit in the set list - I think its more or less clear to anyone, as it is described in the Show Structure section as to what happens. Actually, Im contemplating the "Sample Set List" and wondering if it is even worth keeping. The show I saw (Melbourne) had the songs in a different order, and skipped a lot of the covers. Perhaps it would be better to simply flesh out Show Structure with the "plot" songs for each section ie Flash/Wonderboy, Kielbasa, Lee and Saxaboom before Hell, with Kickapoo, the Friendship Quadrilogy, The Metal, Papagenu, Beezelboss, Car Chase, Storm The Gate and History afterward. Perhaps a mention of Pinball Wizard and Tribute in the encore (Pinball being especially appropriate what with the movie plot being a lot like Tommy). I dont know. Perhaps Im rambling. But definitely I think that the "sucked into Hell" bit is clear and important. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Metao (talk • contribs) 08:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC).
- I'd love to help with the previous tour, except I didnt go to the last tour :( I couldnt justify the flight, whereas this time I had enough warning to get cheaper ones. Id be happy to audit it for style and grammar though. Metao 14:35, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

RE:Tenacious D
I mean, for example, the current lead section says:
- Their music fuses vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music[1]; a style that has been described as "mock rock". [2][3][4].
The first citation should be right after the semicolon. The other citations should be right after the dot, like this:
- Their music fuses vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music;[1] a style that has been described as "mock rock".[2][3][4]
And the code should be this:
- Their music fuses vulgar absurdist comedy with [[rock music]];<ref name="VH1-biography">First ref</ref> a style that has been described as "mock rock".<ref>second ref</ref><ref>third ref</ref><ref>fourth ref</ref>
I hope it's clearer now, see WP:FOOTNOTE if you'd like to see more examples. If you've got any other questions, ask me on my talk page. Cheers. No-Bullet (Talk • Contribs) 18:26, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Karate (Tenacious D song sample).ogg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Karate (Tenacious D song sample).ogg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

The D Biography Review
Its cool, because most of the points made were ones I had kinda made in my head to look at - even the ones I am guilty of ;). Im keeping my eye on the running edits and occasionally going in and making changes, but with work, life and The Burning Crusade, time can be hard to come by! Im aiming to fix a couple of things a week when I have time - its definitely my new Wikipedia pet project. Tripod (band) will have to wait. Metao 06:54, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, those banners were pretty distracting. I'll make sure to let you know when that happens. Also, let me know when Tenacious D goes for Featured Article status; I'd be interested in reviewing it. ShadowHalo 04:44, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there. You requested a few hours ago that I notify you when I'm nominated for adminship. I was very recently nominated; the discussion is located at (or will occur at) Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/ShadowHalo. ShadowHalo 11:51, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I looked at the history, and I'm not so sure that the article needs semi-protecting. It looks like the article is being vandalized around once a day, which doesn't seem like it requires semi-protection. It's annoying to have to do, but I'd recommend continuing to monitor the page and if it gets worse, let me know or list it at WP:RFP. As far as FA status, the article looks more or less ready at first glance, but if you'd like, I can take another look at it when I have some time later today. ShadowHalo 17:04, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
At this point, there's still some work that needs to be done, but the article looks to be in much better shape, so I'll just make a list of the couple things that need to be fixed and then I can withdraw my objection. Does that sound alright? (Sorry for my recent inactivity; I was away for a few days and didn't have Internet access.) ShadowHalo 21:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Tenacious D vandalism
Hey there. You posted Tenacious D under the Articles for protection section of the Rock music WikiProject page a couple weeks ago. I don't see a sign that the article is semi-protected, is it? Is the vandalism persistent enough still to warrant it, or has it cooled down a bit? How many vandalistic edits does the article receive in a day on average? If you could get back to me about it, that would be great. -- Reaper X 22:04, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry it took so long. I looked over the history, and it doesn't seem frequent enough to warrant a semi-protection at this time. If it heats up again, either let me know, or take it to Requests for page protection youurself. Be sure to look over the semi-protection policy before making your call. Cheers. -- Reaper X 22:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Question:
Your name is in plural. Is more than one person using the account? --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 11:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- It might be a good idea to change your name. With your name as it is, it gives the impression of being more than one user on the account, which is prohibited. To be safe, and to fend off potential problems in the future, why not change it to User:Tenacious D Fan? The name appears available, and the name changing process is easy and harmless. Just go to Wikipedia:Changing_username and follow the instructions. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 17:28, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. 1. "Tribute" can be 24 seconds long (that's its limit), so you can make the clip 9 secs longer if you want.
2. "POD" is the longest it can be which is 15 secs.
Good luck with the article and addressing the other objections. I did some for you last night, though they were easier ones to address. LuciferMorgan 22:14, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Tenacious D Fan. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Cover1361 15027.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Tenacious D Fan/Sandbox. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 22:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Etree.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Etree.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Tenacious D More Rocktastic Music From The Film.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tenacious D More Rocktastic Music From The Film.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 17:43, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Delsort list
Hi, over the last few weeks a few of us have been streamlining the delsort project in order to keep up with the number of Afd's. We are now breaking down Afd's into either Bands and musicians and Music. Your Tenacious D delsort list has been identified as one that is too narrow in scope, and has not yet been used; do you mind if this delsort list is removed, or redirected to one of the two related lists? Cheers, John Vandenberg 13:42, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Computerman.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Computerman.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
