Speedy deletion nomination of User:Tanand79
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:Tanand79 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. User page
[edit]Sorry, but your user page does not conform to Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself and your Wikimedia-related activities. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:
- an encyclopedia article (and should not be styled to look like one)
- a workspace for a draft article
- a personal website, blog, or social media site
- a space for self-promotion or other advertising
- a CV/resumé
- a lengthy autobiography
The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:54, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I was writing a message to you when Drm310 posted his message above. Some of what I wrote is now redundant, in the light of what Drm310 has said, but I may as well post it anyway; it may help to clarify things for you a little. A few points regarding the user page you have created:
- The page looks distinctly promotional in tone. Promotional editing is not permitted by Wikipedia policy.
- A Wikipedia user page is for someone who is active in working for the project to give a little information about himself or herself in connection with his or her work for the encyclopaedia: it is not a place to post material unrelated to work for Wikipedia. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if your purpose is to write a personal web page, then you would be better advised to use one of the many web sites which do provide that sort of service, such as a social network site or a web hosting service.
- If you are connected to someone or something you have written about (a few examples are writing about yourself, your business, your band, a member of your family, your client) then you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is.
Regarding your reason given for contesting the deletion nomination, if you carefully re-read the messages from Drm310 you will see that he did not say that the reason for deletion was that the information was not "genuine" or that it was "fake", so what you said is not relevant. @JBW I don't know how to reply to your messages above so editing it directly. Please guide me in the right direction. I shall make the necessary edits to make the page live.
I just wanted to write information about the $2M freelancer achievement as the article is coming in Huffington post and Australian Business News.
Thank you.
The page could have been deleted, but I have given it a chance to survive by moving it away from your user page to Draft:Anand Thangavel, on the assumption that it was really intended as a draft for an article, not a user page. You may work to improve it, and if and when you think it's ready to become an article you may submit it for review by an experienced editor by clicking on the "Submit your draft for review" link. However, I think it only fair to warn you of a few things:
- In its present form the draft has virtually no chance of being accepted, as it is too promotional in tone. It needs to be edited to make it neutral in tone if it is to have any chance.
- I have not checked all the references, but the couple I did look at did very little to indicate that your brother satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines, so it may be necessary to improve the references.
- You should certainly read the guideline on conflict of interest before doing any more editing about him.
- Creating a new article is, unfortunately, full of pitfalls for a new editor with little experience of Wikipedia's standards. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start. Of course that advice is unlikely to appeal to you if you have no interest in doing anything other than publicising you brother, but in that case Wikipedia is probably not the best place for you to do so anyway. JBW (talk) 15:19, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@JBW Thank you for giving a chance. Let me learn to edit and make it neutral and then send to you for review. Thank you so much for your timely help.
