- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

Alert for India/Pakistan/Afghanistan related articles
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]Hello, I'm Kautilya3. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Bappa Rawal seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Article MOS:LEAD summarises the body, and requires editor WP:CONSENSUS for any changes. Kautilya3 (talk) 08:53, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Battle of Sammel, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please review WP:MILMOS#INFOBOX & Template:Infobox military conflict, for presentation of outcome of a battle where it clearly states that In particular, terms like Pyrrhic victory or decisive victory are inappropriate for outcomes
Thanks. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 13:36, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker Thanks, we will discuss this Takshak24 (talk) 15:20, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate images to Wikipedia, as you did to Vidyadhara (Chandela king); it is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 06:27, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker it is the official image of Vidhyadhar on wikipedia, if it is inappropriate why it even exist on wikipedia ? Takshak24 (talk) 06:30, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- How it's a official image ? The account which uploaded the image is a disruptive blocked account. In any case; it doesn't cite any source which confirmed that this is Vidyadhara. (it's obviously not their own work) Take a look at WP:UPIMAGE & WP:IMAGEPOL.
- Regarding spouse and date of birth bit; this is not basic information, it requires reliable scholarly material which mentions birth/death year. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 06:47, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker religion is more basic information, right? Takshak24 (talk) 07:10, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker also why you removed basic information like religion, spouse etc ? he was the greatest king of his dynasty whom under chandela power was at peak, it's necessary to add information Takshak24 (talk) 06:33, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Indeed; I never called you on religion addition either and you are free to add it. Anyway; as I looked more on your edit history of late; (Special:Contributions/Takshak24); it seems fishy to me, especially here:
- (Special:MobileDiff/1107051266)
- This is obviously a hyperbole that he defeated Aurangzeb; I doubt he ever had a pitched battle against him either;
- (Special:MobileDiff/1107048544); again Bhoja never defeated the Ghaznavids. I request you to revert these yourself or add the nuances. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 11:45, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Bappa Rawal, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 17:33, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker I only reverted back to the original, somone added Selims nephew while it was "his nephew" Takshak24 (talk) 17:41, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Takshak24: You removed two templates of citation needed and dubious as well - Special:MobileDiff/1111855486. Please see WP:WNTRMT, regarding the template removal, if this removal was not deliberate. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 18:01, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker i removed that because I was assuming that you added this because of that previous edit, now i am not removing, but only removing that "Selims nephew" part, hope you agree Takshak24 (talk) 18:25, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- No issues. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 18:46, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Takshak24! Your additions to Bappa Rawal have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 09:25, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Packer&Tracker I had checked that information from the source, moreover the page mentioned regarding Rashtrakutas (which i removed) was wrong, as there is no mention of Rashtrakutas on given page
- On the page number i added, there is full description of his conflicts with Rashtrakutas, Cholas and Karnataka's, i will again add them but in short and in my own words, Thanks for suggestion, i will definitely correct such mistakes Takshak24 (talk) 15:05, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
