A tag has been placed on Augusta International Raceway, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Fraud claim in edit summary

[edit]

Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons also applies to edit summaries. Do not make unsourced or poorly sourced claims that a living person has been arrested for fraud in an edit summary. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't make such claims anywhere at the website. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 14:41, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

North Wilkesboro Speedway Edits

[edit]

The claims that are being made by the referring article were made by an individual as a personal attack against certain people in an effort to hamper the process of reopening North Wilkesboro Speedway. I am personally a member of the group STS that this person made many blatant personal and slanderous attacks against us in which was eventually to into a legal battle in which I am not able to discuss. The user "Stevie's Daycare" has for a matter of over a year then reposted and made repeated personal attacks on myself(which is also why they have chosen the name "Steve's Daycare) as well as others, using not only Wikipedia but other websites as well in which he/she has been banned from. The user was also at one point named "Land of Make Believe" here on wiki and was banned once before for making the same personal attacks. If anyone wants to contact me personally about this issue please do so. I am open to comments and questions.

Also if an administrator reads this please contact me I have the original emails that were sent between myself and an administrator that corrected this problem once before. I have also notified them as to the situation. Swilson2000 (talk) 17:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If an administrator reads this feel free to see the recommendation that User:PrimeHunter recommended. Those changes have been implemented but I guess time will tell if the other contributor, SWilson2000, will follow the recommendation. Stevie's daycare (talk) 00:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators are merely editors who have been trusted with certain technical tools. They don't decide article content over ordinary editors. I happen to be an administrator but that is not relevant so far since there have been no administrative actions. I have just made a suggestion like other editors could have done. Apart from the ability to see deleted pages, I don't have access to information other editors cannot see and I hope we can work out this dispute via discussion on talk pages. I notice your obvious interest in North Wilkesboro. It was always one of my favorite tracks. I like 'em short! Are people able to access the facility? The article would be greatly improved by adding some images, even if they were distant shots taken from a nearby road. Royalbroil 04:03, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm an administrator too, and I agree with PrimeHunter's analysis. I don't see a conflict of interest if you upload non-controversial pictures of North Wilkesboro Speedway from your organization's archives (as long as you have permission from the photographer). Let me know if you need help with licensing the images, as that's frequently/usually a tricky proposition for new contributors. Maybe you should upload 1 first as a test until you get the hang of it. The best place to upload them is at Wikimedia Commons so that the Wikipedia projects of various languages can all use them. The German Wikipedia is especially active and has a large set of NASCAR articles. Royalbroil 19:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
