24 hour protection on Tomorrow (The Cranberries song)

[edit]

Hi. I've protected Tomorrow (The Cranberries song) for 24 hours. You should know better than to edit war over something like this. Take it to the talk page, get consensus. That's the way things work here. If I see this behaviour from you in the future, I will be pulling out the block card. WormTT(talk) 07:30, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

Hi Swifty. Upon further review of the situation, it's clear that you were edit warring against the local consensus. Three editors told you that placing a link to a download site in the position you placed it would be considered advertising (or spam), and yet you carried on. The issue is not whether any information can be garnered from the sites in question, but how it's being presented. As you have clearly edit warred, I am blocking you for 24 hours.

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. WormTT(talk) 10:34, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A bowl of strawberries for you!

[edit]
Hi Swifty! I have gone through your work at adoption page, its great! Even your contributions have been one of the better ones. You are one of the good editors we have around and your contributions are valuable just like you are as an editor to the community. Do not give up and cool down a bit. I'd like to say that it is better if you come back. You'll do fine in future and don't let this block influence your editing or real life. Probably you like Taylor Swift and guess what? It is on GA-review and I m the reviewer. There are just few issues and your work would be appreciated. Just suggested. Cheer up buddy and dont feel down! Enjoy this strawberries and I wish you all the best for future. Hope to see you around :) →TSU tp* 09:05, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is looking possible to be deleted so can i ask you to take a look and add anything you can to show how notable it is if you have an interest in this kinda stuff mr. Every gay loves Gaga =P Thanks and have a nice day/evening our American friend Jenova20 18:18, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Original Barnstar
Ricky, you are a fine editor. You've made great contributions to the project. I know what it feels like when people just piss you off greatly and you feel as if nobody appreciates anything to do, but let me assure you, that is not the truth. You have made great contributions to the project and I hope to see you making more. You need to get your ass back here and get the remaining Taylor Swift song articles to GA, as well as I Need You, which you have worked awfully hard on. It would be a shame to not see a nice green icon at the top of the page. Have a nice break, get your shit together, and then come back better as ever! Statυs (talk) 21:46, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To everyone

[edit]

Thank you for your kindness and support but I do not think I will be making a full return to Wikipedia. I think that it is probably best that I keep a low profile and just do minor edits and correction where I see fit on here and just go about my day. Wikipedia has a lot of issues it needs to work out and I am not the one who can change that so I guess I'll be semi-retired but that is it. I do not think I can make a major difference in the Wikicommunity and I feel it best to keep myself off here as much as possible. That is my stand and I hope everyone can respect that. ^_^ Swifty*talk 05:27, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its your call after all and we do respect it but remember, edits by users can't be classified as major or minor just like that. And if classified, your contributions in the past are of those "major types" especially the one related to Swift. All the best and happy editing! :) →TSU tp* 06:36, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I appreciate it. I am off here for the night. ^_^ Swifty*talk 06:41, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever you feel right Swifty. If you want to walk away from wikipedia, it should be your choice. If you want to come back and make small changes, it's your choice. If you keep edit warring like you did, I will be forced to block you. That's the way things go here. WormTT(talk) 07:40, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I feel it's just best to make as many minor edits as possible or if asked to give input that is what I will do as I did here and about the deletion of a page, but I seriously need to go to bed got a lot to do tomorrow. LOL! Talk to you all later. ^_^ Swifty*talk 07:43, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nice to see you back Swifty, i look forward to working with you in future, even on minor edits. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 08:12, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Genesect

[edit]

Information concernin Genesect has since been released by the Pokémon company in Japan. Please see here.—Ryulong (竜龙) 02:00, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

o.O I can't even read that so I do not know if it's official or not can't even tell...not fluent in Japanese here can you show me a reliable English source? ^_^ Swifty*talk 05:26, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That link you sent me is not the official site look at the picture on it. It shows Genesect as 300?!?!?!?! He's 155 and I checked the Unova dex on my game to confirm this that is not the official site so that means Genesect has NOT been announced. You should've even caught that. ^_^ Swifty*talk 05:57, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's Pokemon.co.jp. It is the official Japanese website, that's Genesect on the official Japanese website, and Japanese language sources are perfectly fine, particularly for Japanese subjects. And he is number 300 in the new Pokédex in Black 2 and White 2, which is the only game he can be acquired in. So please educate yourself before dismissing something just because you can't read the language. And you shouldn't have Genesect at number 155 in your game because it has not been released to video games yet anywhere. It's at least been announced though.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:36, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually Pokemon.jp is the official site the Pokemon.co.jp does not have Pokemon Global Link making it a none official site according to what I been told it is a fanclub. So that does not make it official and their information may not be legit. ^_^ Swifty*talk 06:39, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What the h*** are you talking about? Pokemon.co.jp is the official website. It even says "Pocket Monsters Official Site" in the upper left corner. Genesect has been confirmed by the Pokémon company. And it will be featured.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:42, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Dude someone checked the information on the site for me. Pokemon.co.jp is fanclub and where is Global Link I been looking on the site and it is no where to be found and if you look at Pokemon.jp it has the Global Link making it the official site. In fact what is your email? I will forward you the conversation. ^_^ Swifty*talk 06:44, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pokemon.co.jp and Pokemon.jp are both the official websites. Scroll to the bottom of this page and you will see the copyright information. Take my word for it. It's the official website and Genesect has been officially confirmed by Game Freak, the Pokémon Company, and Nintendo. In two weeks the Japanese players will be able to have Genesect in their video games. Again, if you cannot personally read Japanese that should not dismiss the fact that this was the official confirmation from the copyright owners that this damn thing exists. And if the Global Link crap is all that's convincing you that one is official and the other isn't, it's on this page.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:49, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, Pokemon.jp is the official fan club page. It says "Pokemon Daisuki Club" in the title. Clearly, you and whoever you are working with cannot read Japanese and should not be left in charge of this decision.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:53, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry but you are incorrect and this picture on the Pokemon.co.jp proves it Genesect is not 300 so there is no way that is the official site I do not and refuse to believe that an official site would make that mistake. Sorry but I really think you need to check your sources before you go believing them and second please do not use language on my talk page. Thank you. 06:59, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
You know what until Pokemon.com officially announces it Wikipedia has posted the wrong number and that is that. So believe what you will I know that Pokemon.co.jp is wrong and not official so post false information if you want but when you're proven wrong do not expect me to clean up the mess cause will no longer be my job. I am tired of people sitting here getting mad at me and this is the first I've been cussed at on my talk page since I started Swifty and you know what that is the final straw screw this stuff I do not have to put up with it fix the mess when it comes if you do not like it when you get proven wrong oh well guess what it is not my problem anymore I am done! ^_^ Swifty*talk 07:08, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Genesect is #300 in the new Unova Pokedex in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. The numbering has changed a lot because they added in many old Pokémon into the games, and you can only get Genesect via event in Black 2 and White 2. It is not a fake image. Pokemon.co.jp is the official Japanese language website, and Pokemon.jp is the official fan club site. I am not telling you again. This information is correct, official, and confirmed. You simply don't know anything about Japanese or the new games Black 2 and White 2. We will include this information on the English Wikipedia because it is reliably sourced to an official website. I do not understand why you are being so obtuse. You do not "know" Pokemon.co.jp is wrong. You only think it's wrong. You can look up the URL information on Pokemon.co.jp and you will see it's owned by Nintendo/Game Freak/Pokémon Company. I am not wrong. You just can't read the language and you are being given entirely wrong information.—Ryulong (竜龙) 07:11, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and also, Swifty, you accused me of vandalism on which is false, and apologize for that. --Hinata talk 01:43, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You could just let it go and get on with editing now the issue is resolved? Especially since there's a big banner at the top of this page reading RETIRED and you're flogging a dead/retired horse Hinata. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 08:19, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Guys cut it out, this is neither helpful nor appropriate. I don't want to be police here and there's a couple personal attacks in there that shouldn't be. Stick to keeping calm in disputes. Swifty, i'm happy to acknowledge this as official but i'd want an actual translation i can read to see a link to pokemon black/white 2 as all i saw was confirmation the Genesect exists. Ryulong you went overkill there where you could have just argued your point the best you can without personal attacks. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 08:53, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jenova, thanks for sticking up for me and giving your opinion on this but I'm pretty much done with the conversation now and it is whatever after talking with Dave and Zach but I do want to apologize to Ryulong cause I do nto see where a personal attack was launched my way. Granted I was upset that I got "cussed at" so to speak and didn't appreciate the language on my talk page but I do not see that as a personal attack and again Ryulong I am sorry that accusation got thrown in. Hope we can all work together on a project more peacefully in the near future but as for now I do not see me sticking around on Wikipedia after the cuss word. But only time will tell. ^_^ Swifty*talk 09:17, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I think you're a bit late to the party, Jenova. I don't see any personal attacks by Ryulong, just a mildly heated discussion. Swifty, a break might not be a bad idea, I'll post the outcome of our discussion on the Talk:Pokemon page, and see what happens. WormTT(talk) 09:20, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's just a hostile tone for the conversation and a heated exchange, i've struck that. Thanks for the correction Jenova20 (email) 09:24, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scooby Doo

[edit]

Hi Swifty, i'll help out by trying to find some sources for the claim. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 09:13, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Check this out too when you get the chance. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 12:16, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As long as it stays to what is currently aired I don't care. Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated is so back and forth it's not funny LOL! I am not seeing this series of Scooby-Doo sticking around for long... ^_^ Swifty*talk 04:11, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Swifty,

I've been inserting episode summaries/notes/villians/etc. for episodes 32-34 as they've aired, but I won't be able to watch tomorrow's episode as I'll be out to lunch for my birthday when it airs tomorrow, so can you fill in the plot summary/overarching mystery clue(s)/notes/etc. for Episode 35 when it airs in your timezone?

Thanks a bunch. Black Yoshi (Yoshi! | Yoshi's Eggs) 18:38, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have cable but I usually see them the next day or so, not going to say how :D, but I will get on it when I see it. ^_^ Swifty*talk 04:09, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Eyes Open (Taylor Swift song).jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Eyes Open (Taylor Swift song).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pikachu volkswagon beetle.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. SuperMarioMan 20:05, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To everyone

[edit]

I am only returning to Wikipedia as a negotiator not a full on editor. Too much drama happens when I try to edit and I feel more comfortable helping solve conflicts then editing. ^_^ Swifty*talk 18:18, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back Swifty! Aren't you sorting out problems you usually have to try and sort out anyway when you edit this way? If you usually have to deal with conflict then why go looking for more of it? Thanks Jenova20 (email) 09:39, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Take Talk:Homophobia for example. This argument over rewriting and renaming the article has been going on for over 4 months!!. Now why would you want to deal only with disputes and no editing? It's not fun and you're gonna be much more stressed out by it. Plus you're a great editor! Thanks Jenova20 (email) 11:04, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Hello, Swifty. You have new messages at Jenova20's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

There is no need to add succession boxes to this article. The issue has been discussed ad infinitum at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Record charts/Archive 11#Request for comment: Use of succession boxes, where it was taken all the way to WP:RFC. No consensus was able to be reached on their general use on any articles, so it's basically been do not add them to articles in which they never existed and do not remove them from articles from where they were already added before that discussion. Any other use for succession of number ones should be taken to the individual talk page because no consensus has been reached to add them to this article. Thank you. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:29, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest to you that you address that on the talk page and let a consensus be brought up on whether or not it should or should not be removed. It really is not your place or mine to discuss this or remove it so until you can do that please readd it and bring it up on the talk page thank you. ^_^ Swifty*talk 22:31, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'd also like to add that I did not originally add it and reverted you because you removed it. So you are bringing this up to the wrong person. ^_^ Swifty*talk 22:35, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So you should have reverted it when they were added by someone else due to any lack of consensus to have them. It shouldn't be added until consensus can be reached since a long discussion has already taken place on these and they really haven't been added to new articles since that discussion. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:39, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know when it was added and wouldn't revert someone doing a good edit. Either bring up on the talk page why you want it removed and let others who edit on the page bring it to a consensus or drop it already. ^_^ Swifty*talk 22:40, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just cause you don't think it should be on there doesn't mean others agree with you and that's that. It is a minor thing you're turning into a big drama. Just take it to the talk page and let them decide I just fix the sources and go about my day. ^_^ Swifty*talk 22:43, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

[edit]

If it's such a minor thing to you, what's the big deal if I remove them? The chart table already says it is number one on these charts. The article says when the song reached number one. The "preceding" songs have no relationship whatsoever to this song. It is both redundant and gives undue weight to reaching number one on these specific charts only since it's already mentioned. We don't need it pounded over our heads. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:12, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dude as I said bring it up on the talk page for consensus to remove or drop it. ^_^ Swifty*talk 23:13, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
