Reference formatting improvements

The Original Barnstar
For providing citations where they are needed. Such work is often thankless. I didn't want it to go unnoticed right now. AstroCog (talk) 12:31, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ward Hunt

[edit]

I saw your post from last year on Talk:Ward Hunt, and I fully support you in editing the article to add in the info from N.E.H. Hull's book on Hunt and Susan B. Anthony. Per Wikipedia's BRD policy you are well within your rights to be bold and make that edit. It seems like you have a very reliable source for the change, so I don't think the change would be that controversial. Searching Komca

[edit]

hi, may I know how do you find KOMCA, like where and how do you search for a specific person, song credits? From what I know there is a website but I don't know how to search for the name of specific artist. 120.29.77.209 (talk) 14:22, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, so you just go to the main KOMCA website (https://www.komca.or.kr/CTLJSP). Use Google Translate if you can't read Korean. Select "Author name" from the drop down menu and search for the artist you want. The artist and their KOMCA ID will show up in the results. Plug the KOMCA ID into this link (https://www.komca.or.kr/srch2/srch_01_popup_mem_right.jsp?S_MB_CD=[KOMCA ID]) to create a link you can come back to and cite. Hope that helps :) Sunny Nights (talk) 19:02, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Sunny Nights, however it did not show me the artist i want to find, when i searched "author name". I'm searching for 가을 (Gaeul) - full name:  김가을, a member of group Ive, but no result found. Would you mind helping me?
The Komca is needed here at Draft:Gaeul, also citations are needed for the life and career, but i cant find reliable sources on the internet 120.29.77.209 (talk) 03:19, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So in Gaeul's case that either means that she is not registered with KOMCA yet or that her contributions were not considered significant enough to require KOMCA credit. For reliable sources on her life and career, you can try Googling key words in Korean and using Google Translate to look for news articles about the subject. You can also try checking interviews that Ive have done with various magazines. Most K-pop focused English-language websites are not reliable sources but sometimes they link back to a more reliable Korean-language news source so you can try that as well. Sunny Nights (talk) 05:03, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
hi, I searched up a registered artist but I didn't find it similar to Gaeul, I think I might be doing it wrong, can you try to look Gaeul name on the website you mentioned earlier for verification, because I think I'm inputting wrong data :(
I also tried searching korean key words and various interviews and sites but sadly I couldn't find any reliable sources needed 120.29.77.209 (talk) 07:49, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Gaeul does not have an ID with KOMCA. Sunny Nights (talk) 23:12, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
