Serbian help needed
Hello Sundostund, I'm contacting you because we need some Serbian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on sr.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Serbian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:46, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, PEarley! Thank you very much for your invitation, I really appreciate that. But, I must say that I'm not really interested in the translating work. I usually work on English-language articles, and I very rarely translate anything. But, don't worry - I'm sure you'll easily find someone else from Serbia to help you. Cheers! --Sundostund (talk) 12:15, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- Sundostund, thanks for your reply, and good wishes. I have indeed found some great help from Serbian editors. Happy editing, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 16:37, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
I moved the page to Speaker of Parliament (Syria)
Why did I do this.. Because you can't have a list of something without having an article explaining what the office does... Hence I can't create an article List of Regional Command members of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party (Syria), with actually creating a page entitled Regional Command of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.... Don't to this again.--TIAYN (talk) 19:49, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Lists
Hello Sundostund, You have recently undone some of my formatting edits on political lists Paramount leader and List of Prime Ministers of Israel. I don't want to engage in an edit war, but I do think that my edits are an improvement (they simplify the encoding of both tables), so I'd be grateful if you could explain your objections to them, rather than just reverting them. Thanks, LookLook36 (talk) 13:17, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- You'll notice that on List of Prime Ministers of Israel, the dates are duplicated because they appear both as a PM's term and a government term. Personally, I prefer my own design as a way to deal with this, but I'd like to see what you think before I change anything. LookLook36 (talk) 10:53, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Presidents of the Reichstag (Germany), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Reichstag (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edit warring
Are we going to talk about this or continue acting like children? Buttons (talk) 20:47, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well it seems to me that you have a problem with self-perception. Wikipedia is not your private property to dictate that "your" version is "way better" then others because you say so. Nor does Wikipedia have a standard layout for how tables should look. As I said before I think your version would be fine if it were a longer list, now it just looks awkward and out of place. "My" simpler version is the same one used by the CDU which looks more professional IMHO. Buttons (talk) 21:13, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Pictures and date of birth, those are the only elements that your version has, and frankly they are unnecessary to the point. Buttons (talk) 21:40, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- And whats the point of the SNS color exactly? It's not an official post where different parties could come to power after all. I don't see the relevance for a life-span either, if the reader is that interested they can refer to the article on the person of interest. Buttons (talk) 21:56, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for proving my point from before, you feel only your opinion truly matters here and that only you are in the right. My opinion is my own, but no one said anything that your opinion is right or that your version is that one that should be use. I was ready to make a compromise which is why I engaged in this convo in the first place but you are clearly no ready to be an adult. This matter is best solved by letting the baby have it's bottle. Congrats and goodbye. Buttons (talk) 22:09, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Main Page appearance
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of Presidents of Pakistan know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on September 9, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/September 9, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 01:05, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
There have been 11 Presidents of Pakistan since the introduction of the post in 1956. The President of Pakistan is the head of state of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Since the 18th Amendment to the Constitution was passed in 2010, Pakistan has been shifted back from semi-presidential to a parliamentary democratic republic. Under that system, the president has limited ruling powers, and performs ceremonial duties while the Prime Minister enjoys more powers to execute decisions. The president is chosen by the Electoral College composed of the Senate, the National Assembly and the Provincial Assemblies. The president may remain in office for a tenure of five years. Iskander Mirza was the first president of the country. Six presidents have been members of a political party and four of them were active party members of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). Four presidents were military officers and three of them gained power through successful military coups. Apart from these eleven, two acting presidents have also been in office for short periods of time. Asif Ali Zardari (pictured) of the PPP is the current president of Pakistan.
But if i'm planning to nominate it to FL it is
--TIAYN (talk) 15:21, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Because I'm planning to nominate to FL and in its current form it won't fucking pass.. Go ask the users at FL and find out for yourself.. What are you doing?? Really.. --TIAYN (talk) 15:24, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- But there is a reason why lists reach FL standards, because they are better.... I've contacted an administrator... And I will mention you to the noticeboard.. --TIAYN (talk) 15:28, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- I've told the noticeboard that both us are breaching edit war rule (3 reverts I think), but told them my story, opposing a list to becoming an FL is inherently illogical.. Tell them what you think, defend yourself, because from here, and from what you have been saying now, you're just stupid. --TIAYN (talk) 15:32, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- What content have I removed? --TIAYN (talk) 15:43, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- See the noticeboard, I've replied. --TIAYN (talk) 16:14, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Per the noticeboard if we continue edit warring on the three pages, one of use will be blocked... So we have to discuss the matter . --TIAYN (talk) 16:47, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Wrong. If we continue edit warring both of us will get blocked. I doubt I can discuss the matter with someone who remove data, remodel lists, pushing in his version etc just because he thinks its an "improvement". --Sundostund (talk) 16:56, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- If either of you want to make a Featured List, I suggest going to WP:Featured lists and look for relevant examples in the domain of politics.
For instance, List of Presidents of Pakistan was approved in March, 2013 so it must be up to current standards. Maybe you can get one of the people who commented at that FL review to come and look at List of Presidents of Syria and give an opinion on what it needs... Well, I see Sundostund may have helped create that list, so pick a different one.Consider anything in Wikipedia:Featured lists#Politics and government as an example. EdJohnston (talk) 17:48, 3 September 2013 (UTC)- Ed, I'm certainly not obsessed to make lists to be FL, so I assume your advice is meant for TIAYN. I indeed participated into remodeling list of Pakistani Presidents, willing to improve it without any weird ambition to make it a FL list. --Sundostund (talk) 18:17, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- If you've already participated in the FL process, you must know some people who review FL candidates. You could try to get one of those people to give their opinion on the issue being disputed here. EdJohnston (talk) 18:29, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

- I've re-added everything, with the exception of NPF, as I said I would. --TIAYN (talk) 18:34, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ed, I didn't participated in the FL process, it just happened that one of the lists I worked on (list of Pakistani Presidents) was accepted as FL. As I said before, making lists FL is totally irrelevant for me. --Sundostund (talk) 18:36, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'll say this bluntly, if this continues the article will be blocked indefinitely... I'm willing to concede the Syrian Regional Branch thing if you give up the NPF... This si the only way, since, I know this and you know, we will both continue until both of us, and the article, is blocked indefinitely. Let's just give each other a point and get on with this, OK? --TIAYN (talk) 19:22, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Wrong. If we continue edit warring both of us will get blocked. I doubt I can discuss the matter with someone who remove data, remodel lists, pushing in his version etc just because he thinks its an "improvement". --Sundostund (talk) 16:56, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- We have a deal. --TIAYN (talk) 19:46, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- And I will revert you back, and then i'll nominate it to FL, and then it has to stay... --TIAYN (talk) 19:55, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- But then we have no deal. Fine, be stubborn, you're list is shit anyway.. Its large, it contains so much table rubbish, way to much text within the infobox, which makes it more difficult for the reader, and you seem to want to cram as much text in as little space as possible... I know why you don't care for the FL process, you don't care since you're not able to pass any of you're list to FL status.. --TIAYN (talk) 19:58, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- You reverted me, I want to turn this into an FL. What you have against FLs does not mean that you can decide that some articles can't be nominated. Read WP:OWN, maybe you'll learn something. But its fine that you push in you're version.. You don't own this article. This list needed fixing, it was bad, it doesn't matter how many times you say it is good, it was bad.. And I don't care, If you want to start an edit war, fine.. But if you revert this list with the old one, you are the one who will start edit warring, you will just continue the old one, think, please just think, how stupid can you be? --TIAYN (talk) 20:05, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- The only reason for being kept is that nobody edits this article, with the exception of you, and now me.. Remember, you created the article, you've done 80 percent of the edits of this article.. And not interested in the FL process, you oppose it. And you can't say you have a deal, and then say I have a grudge, and I will remove all you're edits once you lose interest in the article. That doesn't work, here or anywhere else in the world. --TIAYN (talk) 20:08, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not obsessed with the FL, I'm saying facts, the FL standards are there to create good lists...If you oppose it, OK, but that doesn't give you the right to say this article, or anyother article should be promoted to FL... Its like I tried to expand an article, turning it from a stub to an FA, and then a guy comes and revert me and says, the stub is fine, we don't need a FA. --TIAYN (talk) 20:14, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

- Let's discuss the other problems another time, let's just focus on doing this, OK? I'm not gonna do it now, but I can start tomorrow --TIAYN (talk) 21:19, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Final warning
I have already notified you about issues of non-free files and lists, if you continue to add non-free files to list like you did on Prime Minister of South Africa, I will be forced to escalate this to ANI and possibly seek your block. Werieth (talk) 17:29, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Explaining
I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 14:35, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Be careful with non-free content, though. Just because I've approved a page as 'doesn't need to be deleted immediately', that doesn't mean that it's totally acceptable. DS (talk) 14:49, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Mahendra.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Mahendra.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 14:23, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Edit summaries, multiple consecutive edits
Hello, Sundostund, and thanks for your contributions. Here are a couple editing suggestions for you to consider:
- Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
- Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered.
Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 18:11, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Presidents of Serbia, Serbian Parliament, etc.
Pozdrav Sundostund! Ja sam juče uređivao stranice na engleskom President of Serbia, List of Presidents of Serbia, President of the National Assembly.
Takođe, na članku President of Serbia stavio sam listu predsednika Republike Srbije, znači predsednika u periodu posle ustavne rekonstitucije 1990. i uvođenja višepartijskog sistema tj. perioda "Republike Srbije" (bez dodatka Socijalistička/Narodna).
Pozdrav i svako dobro!

List of Heads of State of Kenya
The problem with the list is that it concentrates too much on an old political past that doesn't exist anymore. If people want to access the most recent info they will see the most recent info last because the list has been set in a way that places Queen Elizabeth first, then the Governor General and leaders of an independent country last. If info is displayed in this way it puts the less important information first, because right now Kenya isn't part of the commonwealth realm and it isn't likely to go back to being so.
The list of presidents is going to keep growing as the years keep on passing by and so we'll have this huge list of leaders after a Queen who was there quite a while back. The list is ok either way but I thought it would be best to have current info first then list the former heads of state. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. What I actually don't get is that before you'd shrunk the Kenyan Presidents list by deleting some very crucial information, which had taken me some time to complete. Anyways as of right now the list looks fine.

Sve najbolje pozdrav. Snake bgd 23:34, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sto se tice ovog Borislava Ristica iznenada mi se pojavio u knjizi, on je pobegao iz zemlje u englesku i Ivan Subasic mu je ponudio mandat ministra sto je on u prihvatio i time je Draza izgubio legitimitet politika je cudo. Snake bgd 00:56, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Podneo je ostavku a videcu u Memomoarima Slobodana Jovanovica tu je sve lepo opisano. Snake bgd 14:50, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sto se tice ovog Borislava Ristica iznenada mi se pojavio u knjizi, on je pobegao iz zemlje u englesku i Ivan Subasic mu je ponudio mandat ministra sto je on u prihvatio i time je Draza izgubio legitimitet politika je cudo. Snake bgd 00:56, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Borisav Ristić, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Morava and Mura (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Oko izbora i stranaka
Pozdravi! (User:Nikgudz) 21:29, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

President of Ukraine
Hello, I'm Wavehunter. I noticed that you recently removed some content from President of Ukraine without explaining why. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Best regards,
Natia Sebiskveradze P.A. to the Ambassador Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of Norway"
No dates, unfortunately. There is a souce stating that he took office on November 6, 1992.

Nacelnici Generalstaba Crnogoske vojske
Snake bgd
