About your edits to Suhayl Saadi

[edit]

Wikipedia has a policy that the subjects of biographies should not edit their own articles because it presents a conflict of interest. I assume you did not know this. Please do not edit your article in the future, but you are always welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia. If you have questions, leave me a note on my talk page. Your article, Suhayl Saadi, may be nominated for deletion

[edit]

Hello, Suhaylsaadi. Please see this discussion. The immediate problem is that the article does not have proper references. Many claims are made, and I'm sure you're a notable person, but we don't have the citations to reliable sources that we expect to see to back up those claims (per WP:RS). If you will have time to do this, we can hold off on the nomination. Your article is currently the top entry on our conflict-of-interest noticeboard (WP:COI/N) and we need to take some action on it, one way or the other. EdJohnston 20:54, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Belay that, please—it's well-referenced now. — Athænara 05:18, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suhayl Saadi page

[edit]

Dear Athenaera,

Thanks very much for all your hard work on getting my wiki-page up to standard. I really appreciate it. I hope it is okay -and not a conflict of interests of some sort - for me to thank you!

I think wikipedia is a fantastic resource, but must admit that I find its byways positively Byzantine and technically mind-boggling to effect - though no doubt, very rational and necessary to maintain standards. I also didn't realise that I wasn't supposed to edit my own page, which until now I have been doing, where there were tiny inaccuracies, not the fault of the contributors to the page, but nearly always as a result of old biogs of mine on various articles, etc. or interviews which I might have given in the past when I thought that something was going to happen and then it changed, eg. in 2003 the name of my (then forthcoming) novel changed from 'Kings of the Dark House' to 'Psychoraag' but of course on older interviews it still has the former title so now on the wiki-page it looks as though that is a forthcoming novel... this kind of small thing, about which only I could really know. So in the future, if I see a small thing like that, how do I go about changing it? Is there anyone I can send a message to, to ask for it to be altered? Any suggestions would be most welcome!!

And thanks again.

Best wishes,

You're welcome!
The article talk page is the most central location for drawing other editors' attention to errors or other questions—note the boxed {{talkheader}} notice near the top there which describes it as "the talk page for discussing improvements to the Suhayl Saadi article."
Thank you for explaining the basis for your changes. I agree that they were needed.
I have the article on my watch list, so I will see changes to it, but you may post on my talk page as well if the need arises. — Athaenara 02:43, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
