Nina Simone GA nominee
Hi VanTucky, thanks for your detailed comments and for the edits you will be doing on the Nina Simone article. I will also adress your comments as soon as I have free time, and will add explanations for them to my edits to the subject you made on Nina's talk page when needed. I'm very enthusiastic about improving Nina's article, she deserves it! Marcel flaubert 06:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- just annoying you with a question regarding the addition of images to the Nina Simone article: Do details of album covers and album back covers fall under the fair use stamp? Marcel flaubert 08:01, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for passing the article as GA! Marcel flaubert 11:13, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for the welcome, I hope you don't mind if I bother you with questions when they come up. Naz060 13:48, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
The Campaign For Life in America
It has been pointed out on the articles for deletion page for The Campaign For Life article that you are perhaps against the spirit of the organization described in the article rather than the "noteworthiness" of the subject matter. I would have to agree with that assessment and am appalled by your attempts to censor and suppress Wikipedia content in furtherance of your own opinions and objectives.Dragon224 19:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Your userpage's ready!
Dear Steven, I'm so sorry it took me so long, but I always try to honor my promises... so I hope the results are worth the wait! ;) I took the liberty of removing the navbar, and a few things in order to work on the tables properly; but it can be readded easily if you wish. I also followed your instructions regarding colors and such to the letter. I'm exhausted, but I kinda like the results. I wholeheartedly hope you like it, and that it serves you well; but if you want me to modify it somehow, just whistle my way and I'll do my best - promised! Have a beautiful day! :) Phaedriel - 23:07, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- No probs - just give me a few hours, sweetie ;) Phaedriel - 23:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Something I missed
I know earlier you asked whether there were written novels during the Tang Dynasty, and at the time I did not know. I must have completely overlooked it in Ebrey's book, but the Tang Dynasty actually did have a substantial amount of short story fiction writing, some of which became later dramas and plays in Chinese theater and opera. They weren't full novels in the modern sense, but their plots were long enough (and filled with enough characters) to have entire plays made out of them.--PericlesofAthens 19:38, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and btw, I've added a new section to the talk page entitled "FA status, perhaps?" and since you thought the article was well enough to reach GA status, I'd like your input on what could be improved to make the article FA material. Thanks!--PericlesofAthens 19:55, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Tanning booth image
I have one (actually the original that was deleted) that I can license properly. The original was done when I was rather new and I screwed up the licensing issue, but I do photography for them and have already gotten the manufacturer to release the image into the PD. I just haven't been at work much. I also have other images I need to work in that are PD as well. Pharmboy 12:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Re. Awards
Steven, dear, I can arrange the Awards sections as you requested; but in that case, I have to move them to the main column (to the left) which wil leave the right one somewhat short... do you prefer it that way? Please let me know, k? Love, Phaedriel - 22:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Homeopathy?
Hey, I'm doing a rewrite of the homeopathy article and thought you would be interested to contribute. Same rules as with the parapsychology rewrite, add all proposed edits to the talk page. Here's the link User:Wikidudeman/Homeopathdraft. Thanks. Wikidudeman (talk) 06:10, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi VanTucky, I made many additions to the section on behavior in hippopotamuses tonight and broke "social life" into a new subcategory. I feel that the information I added covers the behavior of the hippopotamus at the appropriate level for an article in a general encyclopedia. However, I have all my sources handy (indeed, almost every scientific paper that's recently been written about hippos), and if you feel that there is still information lacking, please let me know specifically where, so I can expand the details about hippopotamus behavior that you feel need expanding, without adding details that we both agree are too specialized. Thank you for your input and guidance in improving the article! --JayHenry 06:46, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Your RfA comment...
... for TenPoundHammer was a very thoughtful one and made good points. I'm also impressed at the way he was able to take useful criticism - I hope he rereads some wikipedia info (I'd like to point him to Systemic Bias particularly) and goes on to become a wise and careful admin. I try to put some thought into my comments on the rare occasions that I wander past RfA - it's very nice to see that you do too. Thanks for your comment. Cheers, Paxse 17:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
welcome
hello van tucky, i saw your welcome and thank you for it. why did you remove my change to chihuahua after welcoming me? that's not a nice way to welcome.
whether or not its your right, welcoming people then removing their changes is bizarre. let someone else welcome me that isn't going to go and wreck my work.
thanks
thanks for showing me the 3RR, i'll add something to the discussion page. it looks like davidshankbone has broken the rule, he did 4Rs today. Chichichihua 00:16, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Reverting vandalism is outside of the 3RR rule's scope. --David Shankbone 00:19, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism
Once the editor has been warned that the edit is unwelcome or disruptive, it becomes vandalism. The editor has been engaged, and also alerted that their assumptions are incorrect, yet almost with malice continues to revert and deride the photograph. Pretty clear-cut case of vandalism to me. Happy birthday, by the way. Mine was July 9. --David Shankbone 00:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
vantucky, could you please ask davidshankbone to stop reverting? he has done it four times in one day. Chichichihua 23:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi VanTucky. I notice that you have been making some adjustments to the Boerboel page. I'm having a huge problem there with my link always disappearing. I have replaced it now many, many times. My link is perfectly acceptable under information and should remain there. Is there anything you can do to prevent the removal?
Thanks!
Thanks!

User:TenPoundHammer and his romp of Wikipedia-editing otters thank you for participating in Hammer's failed request for adminship, and for the helpful tips given to Hammer for his and his otters' next run at gaining the key. Also, Hammer has talked to the otters, and from now on they promise not to leave fish guts and clamshells on the Articles for Deletion pages anymore. Yes, I will probably be nominated for RFA. You can actually help by Co-nominating me along with User:Tim Vickers and User:Altruism. If you want to do that, Talk to Tim and he'll tell you how to do it if you don't know how. Thanks. Wikidudeman (talk) 17:18, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Boerboel
I'd be happy to help. I've actually been working at the article for some time trying to stop Frikkers from removing the refimprove template and the AKC FSS in the infobox. When I find the time I'll begin trying to cite the article properly. --Pharaoh Hound (talk) (The Game) 12:17, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Hippo revisited
Hi VanTucky, I have made the requested adjustments to hippopotamus that you brought up at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Hippopotamus, specifically the addition of summarizing introductions under the different sections. I have also addressed a number of points raised by Chubbles. Please let me know if there's any other improvements you'd still like to see in this article. --JayHenry 15:55, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
RFA initiated by Tim
My RFA has been initiated by Tim. If you want to Co-nominate what you need to do is put in Co-nomination from User:VanTucky: right under Tim's nomination and explain why you're Co-nominating me.. proposed rename for Liuhe Bafa page
Hello, I am a representative of the Liuhebafa Chuan style. I am trying hard to popularize the style and promote it. This includes helping people who are not chinese to be able to properly pronounce the name by using the correct pinyin, and publicising the information correctly as it relates to the style.
I hope you may reconsider the name change from Liuhe Bafa to Liuhebafa Chuan. Other internal arts are the same; Taiji Chuan, Xingyi Chuan, and Bagua Zhang. I only hope to help educate people properly as I represent a voice in the Liuhebafa Chuan community.
Thank you!Mildsevenlights
civility please
I wish you wouldnt be so harsh, a simple "i disagree" would be understandable you know. Listen, Im not pushing anything, just trying to give information and create some consistancy, thats all. No one has to agree with anything but since alot of information hasnt been given up I think that someone should speak forth. My voice is not on top, but it is relevant anyway. I want to add quite alot more information and can provide sources and references for all my controbutions. But if its going to be shot down over a personal difference then whats the point? Were both from the same place, just be a bit more civil friend.Mildsevenlights 20:12, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey VanTucky. They are kind of doing themselves in. They nominated me a second time on the admin board for 3RR, and summarily told to "can it". They just removed an admin's remark. I actually think this is an editor who became obsessed with me and trolled Wikipedia and my images for close to six months. They were banned for this behavior. I may have an IP check done on them to see if it is the banned user if they keep it up. There are quite a few admins who are aware of their behavior, and at the very least the user is staring at a block. I let User:Seraphimblade know that his comment on the admin board was removed. --David Shankbone 23:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
VanTucky, have you reviewd the vandalism policy? Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. Placing papi.jpg on the chihuahua page does not meet this definition. Chichichihua 03:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
no it doesn't. read the policy if you haven't already, amigo. vandalism is compromising the integrity of wikipedia. and at least one other editor prefers papi.jpg to the half breed. you are really not very good at welcoming people here, removing my changes and insulting me isn't welcoming at all. Chichichihua 03:37, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Van, I think the best thing to do at this point is to stop engaging the editor - they will sink their own ship. They have already 1. Edit warred; 2. been incivil; 3. removed an admins remarks on a noticeboard; 4. canvassed; 5. disregarded all attempts at civil engagement; and 6. been told they are being disruptive on the admin board by bringing up multiple 3RR cases. --David Shankbone 03:42, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- that would suit me fine van. i thought you were the welcome wagon, but it appears you were not. you have assisted in an edit war, and stood up for a user breaking 3rr twice in two days. congrats, mate. Chichichihua 03:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Awesome!
Thanks VanTucky, I'm glad you liked the article. I can't wait to hear your responses to the others.--PericlesofAthens 01:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Boerboel Reverts
Please do not mark reverts as vandalism as you have done on Boerboel when they are not vandalism. Agreeing or disagreeing to your opinion is not what defines a vandal. If you do this again you will be blocked for violating 3RR. Somitho 09:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- FYI, Somitho, VanTucky had brought this issue before AN/I here, and all the admins who commented seemed supportive of VanTucky's actions. (Although, VanTucky, I also have the Boerboel page on my watchlist, and will assist in reverting bad-faith changes made by non-communicative parties. It might be best if you eased up on the trigger-finger and let someone else do the reverting sometimes.) – Quadell (talk) (random) 12:59, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Berger Blanc Suisse
Dude, before you blindly delete work on the Berger Blanc Suisse topic, how about talking about it first, huh? There is Talk:Berger Blanc Suisse page after all --Beachrunningdude 23:12, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Offensive editor
I have no problem at all with your reasoned arguments to delete an article I started, but I do resent your snide remarks on the talk page and I do resent you describing the article as a turd. Is there a process on Wikipedia to complain about editors who describe others' contributions in this way?Tony 23:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Tony
On Your Reply of
""What I did was certainly reasonable. I gave a clear summary of what my edits were and why, which is a lot more than you can say for your work. Uh, Mr. Kettle? It's Mr. Pot on line four, he says you're black.""
I have been checking the Talk:Berger Blanc Suisse page and have found one recent comment about bias. Based on that comment I updated the wiki entry per your suggestion and posted a reply back on that talk page. I expected some additional dialog there.
Otherwise edits on this topic and active on the talk board, or my talk page since I've been adding content since last December, have been so minimal that this topic seemed to be an orphan.
I am happy to collaborate on this entry with other people interested and knowledgeable on the topic. I do actual seek comment on several other Shepherd breeder/owner/trainer msg boards and have edited content here based on that feed back. I'm happy to know you are interested this dog breed and welcome collaboration thru the talk page.
How long have you been involved with German Shepherd breed - white or colored? I have over 45 years of experience with the breed. I also have about 30 years experience writing research papers and articles for the computer software industry. --Beachrunningdude 00:04, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Great to see your comment on the White Shepherd Talk page
I disagree with your opinion that pictures are not needed on this topic. Further, I notice other wiki entries do indeed have galleries; that is where I found the pictures I added to the White Shepherd page.
The pictures you just deleted, again, from the WGSD ancestry section are of the foundation dogs for this, and actually most, modern herding breeds.
My I ask - do you own this White Shepherd page? It is rare in the professional world of writers for an editor to first, directly edit another writers content, and then tell the writer about it. --Beachrunningdude 00:22, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Basset hounds
Hello! I chose not to revert your edit, but I personally think that the other editor's addition of those images actually do improve the presentation of the article and I therefore encourage you to reconsider reverting those images. I am referring to this edit. Best, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 00:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
knowledge and credentials do not qualify for contributing?
Again, I must disagree with your contention that knowledge and credentials don't qualify for contributing to wiki, particularly on this topic.
The last book on the White German Shepherd was publish in 1983 and it is long out of print. Earlier books on White German Shepherds have been out of print for 40 and 60 years respectively. Other early books on the GSD breed that were written before the white coat german shepherd topic become so emotionally charged and polarized in the GSD world are also long out of print. Even so, have the books and I do cite them, admittedly not in the wiki markup language, just clear text.
You will also notice that I added generous hyper links throughout the content that support, I think, all topics discussed. My 45+ years of experience on both sides of the often heated human politics and genetics for this breed help me know where to look for the links and which links are relevant.
So, if you can not accept the expertise of someone like me to assemble and present this information in wiki, then wiki will never have the full and accurate article on this breed.
