Heads up
[edit]I got a message from someone said your interesd in the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. Well... I have updated the page to make it look "cooler". Also I started a Wikipedia:WikiProject FBI for FBI related items. -- Shane (talk/contrib) 05:27, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Bin Laden family
[edit]Whoa, thanks for catching that missing chunk! I thought it was strangely abbreviated (of course there are still a bunch of names missing). --Dhartung | Talk 20:19, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Jelazee and Jalozai
[edit]Could they be the same camp? Maybe. It hadn't occured to me. With Arabic names I have found that similarly spelled names can be transliterations of different individuals, and wildly different transliterations can map to a single individual. Who would have guessed that "Hassan" and "Ahcene" were the same name?
Do you speak Pashtun? I don't I don't know if the same transliteration problem happens with Pashtun.
Rather then merging the two article now, why don't we just put a note on the two articles, saying we don't know if they describe the same place. I don't see any overlap between the two. I'll go and re-read the transcripts of my guys, to see if they mention any of the details in your article. If they do, or if we find more information later, sure, let's merge them.
Cheers! -- Geo Swan 22:33, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
San Francisco Bay Area Geology
[edit]Greetings: Thanks for your edit to include historic earthquakes on the Hayward Fault. I have been considering that WP should have two articles, Geology of the San Francisco Bay Area and Seismology of the San Francisco Bay Area. The latter could then include the bayside soil conditions, BART effects, etc., that apply to both the San Andreas Hayward, and other faults in the region, with individual fault articles being significantly reduced. Do you have any interest in or knowlege to contribute to such an effort? - Leonard G. 17:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Danny's contest
[edit]Greetings. Great work on referencing the Waleed al-Shehri article! Do you know about Wikipedia:Danny's contest? It's for improving unreferenced articles. Gadahn
[edit]Not sure if you know much about Adam Gadahn or not but I notice you made some recent edits to that article. I am just wondering, if you do know about him, could you clarify the middle section where it keeps talking about Gadahn's past without stating which Gadahn is meant (ie him or his father)? If this is beyond your scope feel free to ignore this message. - Abscissa 18:53, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

re: You deleted Pete Escovedo
[edit]Please restore Pete Escovedo, as a Percussionist stub.
He is a world-famous Afro-Latin American Musician, bioloigal Father of Nicole Ritchie and brother to Sheila Escovedo aka Sheila E and father of Alejandro Escovedo a Mexican-American musician. Brother of Coke Escovedo, born Thomas Escovedo, a percussionist who played with Carlos Santana in the seventies. Pete Escovedo was also a percussionist with Santana. See List of Austin City Limits performers [1] Steven Russell 20:39, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- There's nothing much to restore. It was a one-liner about possibly being the biological father of Nicole Richie. It sounds like this person is notable, so if you'd like to create an article about him, go ahead. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 20:56, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Beto and the Fairlanes
[edit]I don't understand why you created a page for this band with the wrong name, and reverted my edit correcting the mistake on the ACL Festival page. Please look at the band's home page, read the history section, and note the name of all their albums. They clearly prefer "and the" to "y los". Moreover, Google lists 19,000 hits for 'Beto and the Fairlanes' and only 834 hits for 'Beto y los Fairlanes' (and most of those hits are redirects to the correct name). Since the band has occasionally been referred to by both names, a mention of that fact is appropriate for the article, but clearly the weight of evidence shows that the article should be titled with the name the band has chosen. TheMindsEye 19:10, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hello TheMindsEye, I did not revert your edit, as you say. I simply restored the wikilink, to the existing page, for the same group. The "y Los" name dates back to the original name for the group. Although in hindsight I agree with your first reversion of the name to "and the" on the Festival page, since that is how they appeared at that venue. Whichever way the band's article is named (y Los vs. and the) is a matter of preference, of course, but my own personal preferences is that original names take precedence, for article titles. But my only major concern is that a wikilink should be maintained to the band's page, and I think only a singular article should be used for the multiple incarnations of the band/bands over time, since it is essentially the same group, if I am not mistaken. Cheers.Steven Russell 19:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Beto y Los Fairlanes
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Beto y Los Fairlanes, by Nuttah68 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Beto y Los Fairlanes seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Beto y Los Fairlanes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 15:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Frances Howard (actress), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Frances Howard. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 08:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on EagleSoft, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g11.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Phgao 09:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]You uploaded Image:Alyacoub1.jpg.
I uploaded Image:Ibrahim Salih Mohammed al-Yacoub 1.jpg
They are the same image, different names. Someone nominated the version I uploaded for deletion. I thought they should have nominated your version for deletion, since mine has the source URL, and the subject's correct name. No offense.
I raised my concern with the nominator's judgment at Common's village pump. Someone told me to feel free to take the {{dupe}} tag off my version and put it on your version. And I have done this.
I did the same with:
- Image:Alyacoub2.jpg and Image:Ibrahim Salih Mohammed al-Yacoub 2.jpg
- Image:Elhoorie.jpg and Image:Ali Saed bin Ali el-Hoorie 1.jpg
I uploaded a bunch of images from the "Rewards for Justice Program" site. Do you see any other overlaps between what I uploaded and what you uploaded?

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ybmblogo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ybmblogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Spam in Patterson Dental
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Patterson Dental, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Patterson Dental, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. The article Riyadh Shikawi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The attempt to find more reliable sources has failed. The merge proposal has been on the page now for ages. No signs of interest or explanations are given on both talk pages. This article here is solely base on the primary source and the fact that this name was on the FBI list for a while. For me it looks 99 % sure that it is Abdul Rahim al-Sharqawi and in this case i do not think there is much to merge. Abdul Rahim al-Sharqawi has already a section about the rendition, maybe just the fact that he was on the FBI list and then delete and redirect. If we speak about two different individuals. Then this one should be deleted because it fails WP:BIO notability and my attempt to find more reliable secondary sources have failed.
