[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:23, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. File permission problem with File:Leicester GLF demo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Leicester GLF demo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:14, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Bellerophon talk to me 17:57, 10 December 2013 (UTC)December 2013
[edit]Hello, Steveandgeoff. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Bellerophon talk to me 18:03, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 12
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Illustrators of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Blake (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mabel Lucie Attwell's Alice.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Mabel Lucie Attwell's Alice.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Theroadislong (talk) 15:57, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that just because the illustration appears in your book, that you hold the copyright?
http://www.bwa-design.co.uk/en/Mabel_Lucie_Attwell_licensing.php bwa represents the Mabel Lucie Attwell Estate. As Mabel Lucie Attwell’s great grandson bwa partner Webster Wickham is the brand licensor responsible for managing copyright issues related to this well known British illustrator. I could be wrong? License tagging for File:Charles Folkardpic.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Charles Folkardpic.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Mabel Lucie Attwell's Alice.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mabel Lucie Attwell's Alice.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 17:24, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
The Two Images of Alice
[edit]Need more data on the file page - use File:Rackham alice.jpg as a model to fix your two files. Ronhjones (Talk) 17:26, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- I've had more time to examine the files and the authors. Both lived to a good age, which sadly makes the copyright last longer.
- Mabel Lucie Attwell d.1964 - works will be in copyright until 2035
- Charles Folkard d.1963 - works will be in copyright until 2034
- So deleted as "user requested". C'ést la vie.
- (The other image on that page, by Arthur Rackham - d.1939, so copyright expired 2010) Ronhjones (Talk) 23:38, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Source for illustrators of "The Hunting of the Snark"?
[edit]Hi Steveandgeoff,
I noticed that you added a really nice bit about the main illustrators of the poem; I was wondering what source(s) you used for that, since there's no source cited. :) Thank you, Rapunzel-bellflower (talk) 19:53, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
