Davis bike loop
[edit]This is unlikely to be notable: most streets, paths, etc. aren't. If this were a race circuit, it might qualify or if it has significant coverage in media, but it isn't and doesn't. The criterium is on a shorter path, the double century on a longer one so neither is this path. You should consider adding the information to the Davis, California article where it fits in better. Your RfA
[edit]Hi Stephen,
You might want to consider closing your RfA. As it says at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/nominate#To nominate yourself, you need at least 1000 or so edits before people have enough history to review to judge you, and frankly, I don't know of any RfA's recently that passed when the editor had less than 2000. If adminship is something that interests you, I suggest looking into the admin coaching program.
I won't close your RfA early if you don't say so here, but it's possible someone else will. If that happens, please don't be discouraged, and take the comments in the oppose section as they were intended: as constructive criticsm.
Let me know if you'd like it closed, or if you have any other questions. --barneca (talk) 01:02, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Since you're rather new, you may wish to also consider adoption. A little guidance will do everyone good.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 01:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Your RfA
[edit]I went ahead and closed it per WP:SNOW, please not do be discouraged as it took 3 attempts at an RfA for me before the community felt comfortable giving me the tools. Please read through the comments made in the oppose section and improve upon them, get at least 2,000 edits and 3 months more months of solid contribtuions before re-submitting another RfA. Let me know if you have any questions, Cheers! Tiptoety talk 01:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Hi StephenHjellum13, I see that you are seeking adoption. I would be happy to adopt you if you like. I am an experienced editor here at Wikipedia, you can see some of my contributions on my user page. If you would like me to adopt you, please let me know at my talkpage. If not, no problems - you might want to check out this list of adopters. --BelovedFreak 00:00, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be fine. If you have any questions about anything, let me know. If you want me to set up some "tasks" for you, to help you learn the ropes in any particular area, I can do that. I will also look over your contributions in more detail to see if there's anything I think you need help with. Regards, --BelovedFreak 10:27, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Image:DBmap.png listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:DBmap.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Image source problem with Image:SacRiverTrain.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:SacRiverTrain.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:01, 28 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 01:01, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:SPstation - DavisCA.jpg
[edit]File:SPstation - DavisCA.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:SPstation - DavisCA.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:SPstation - DavisCA.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 23:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Sacramento Northern Railway
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — This, that, and the other (talk) 07:24, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:54, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:STEPHEN HJELLUM.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jon Kolbert (talk) 13:25, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
