Non-linkage

[edit]

On your main userpage in which you clarify where your username doesn't come from, the first instance of "Stax" is a redlink. I haven't played M:tG for years, so I don't know what the link is supposed to refer to, so I figured I'd let you know instead of trying to fix it myself. Also, this page is getting pretty big, it looks like it's almost time for another archiving. - Ugliness Man 12:36, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wesley Clark

[edit]

Wesley Clark was relieved early and I think it should be in his article. I tried to put it in in a way that avoids all the derogatory stuff that was said about it. I hope you will find it reasonable. If not let me know how you think this should be dealt with. Master shepherd 03:49, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alison Krauss

[edit]

I didn't change the color scheme at all... I just corrected an incorrect album listing and added singles that weren't on the list (even though they didn't chart, they were still released as singles). Camcallister 18:56, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Untagged image

[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:CThopkins logo1.gif, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 15:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Image:CBSSundayMorningLogo3.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CBSSundayMorningLogo3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 03:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of the Hindenburg Line

Just wondering if the article Battle of the Hindenburg Line is to be deleted because of abundant inaccuracies or if it will remain to be totally rewritten. Brocky44 21:37, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Clark Official NATO Portrait.jpg

[edit]

I noticed you uploaded Image:Clark Official NATO Portrait.jpg under a fair use license. I have added a replaceable fair use tag to this page since it conveys material that is already conveyed via free means. --tomf688 (talk - email) 01:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MILHIST Coordinator Elections

[edit]

The Military history WikiProject coordinator selection process is starting. We are looking to elect seven coordinators to serve for the next six months; if you are interested in running, please sign up here by February 11!

Delivered by grafikbot 11:36, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's great; I'm changing to support. I'm becoming more and more adept at finding increasingly unimportant faults at FAC, so excuse my rather trivial suggestions ;-) Excellent work, it's a great article. Trebor 20:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. that's why humans will always be better than computers. Trebor 20:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Staxringold, I've seen your picture Image:New Haven Coliseum morning of.JPG in the English Wikipedia and would like to upload it to the Commons to use it in further Wikipedias. I just thought I'd ask whether you would like to do that yourself. Any preferences? --Ibn Battuta 01:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:FireflyGirlInBox2.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FireflyGirlInBox2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Congrats on the Krauss article

[edit]

As a country music fan, I wish to congratulate you on the Alison Krauss article, in getting the Featured Article status. Good job! Chris 14:31, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations! I was surprised to see a country music article on the main page as Today's Featured Article. Thank you and please keep up the terrific work. --TantalumTelluride 22:40, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An article which you started, or significantly expanded, Charles Calhoun, was selected for DYK!

[edit]
Updated DYK query On February 12, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Charles Calhoun, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Thanks for your contributions! Nishkid64 23:55, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer's Award

[edit]

Thanks very much for the award — I've had one in mind for you given your prodigious efforts on the Wesley Clark article, but I'm waiting for a more auspicious moment. :) It's getting there. I really do think it will become one of the top bios ... but like fine wine, it takes some time and patience. Actually, I make a lousy reviewer ... I always end up getting involved in "just one more" project. It's hard for me to critique without pitching in. Must be the engineer in me. ;-) Thanks again! Askari Mark (Talk) 01:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We seem to have no verifiable copyright holder information for this image, which is one of our Wikipedia:Fair use criteria. Jkelly 00:17, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wesley Clark Awards

[edit]

Sorry for the confusion. The US Constitution certainly does forbid government officials from accepting titles of nobility. The mistake here is thinking that knighthoods are titles of nobility. They are not. As far as I know, they are allowed under the constitution. Also, the distinction between honorary knighthoods and standard ones is incorrect, at least in the British examples. All Americans, whether government officials or not, are awarded honorary honors from the British crown. This means that they are not given the accollade ("dubbed") and do not use the style "Sir." I hope this helps clear things up.--Eva bd 15:44, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's the way I understand it. I know there are some references on the web, but I'll have to dig them up. There may be some other nuances that I've not encountered. Have a great day.--Eva bd 16:29, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Pulaski promo tng 1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pulaski promo tng 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 21:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photos for use

I have orphaned this image, for the reasons given on the image page; I don't think it meets WP:FUC #8 in any article. --RobthTalk 21:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
