WikiProject:Rihanna

[edit]

As I can see, lot of the singers have a WikiProject. I can see you are interested in Rihanna and the related articles, how about starting a Rihanna WikiProject? Greetings Tomica1111 (talk) 20:53, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are you ready? I have realized that the lead was the main problem, so I will not be involved with the lead this time; I will focus on everything else. You in? I Help, When I Can. [12] 23:40, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOOD! The sandbox is in pretty much the same location; I'll move it to the WP:Kylie project sandboxes now. I Help, When I Can. [12] 23:45, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm hoping someone else can help out with the lead. I will avoid that section. Also, know we will be using the Note/Reference method for this article. I Help, When I Can. [12] 23:49, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is it THAT annoying? I Help, When I Can. [12] 23:59, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nuyorican Productions

[edit]

There's been a misunderstanding here. Where exactly did you already explained this issue to me? - I do not see anything on my talk page. Lil-unique1 notified me that he was the user who added this information, and I left my reply on his talk page. Imperatore (talk) 01:30, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Born This Way

[edit]

Zach, I don't think you hav any idea what an umlaut is. Its a stress inducing alphabetization, not a stylization. Stylization would be P!nk, Ke$ha, כמד etc. And the umlaut in YAI, this is even per the Record Compasny released tracklisting. So I would appreciate if you do not go on edit warring over the article's tracklist, lest you get yourself blocked for 3RR. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:27, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: LOVE?

[edit]

I've never been able to fault Lopez's vocals... but they're better on Love? than all other albums... i mean seriously? it could be worse... A LOT Worse. I do agree with some of the criticisms that some of the songs are generic... but there are moments on the album which are close to perfection. "Papi" and "On the Floor" is Lopez circa 1999-2002, "Run the World" is Lopez from the This Is Me... Then era while "Until It Beats No More" is perhaps Lopez's best show of balladry to date. "(What Is) Love?" is sheer brilliance.... her next album needs to be a pure mixture of "Papi" meets "(What Is) Love?". She does need to get involved in the writing more though ... the lyrics do let it down... I will admit there is something incredibly 12-yr school girl about "Good Hit" and "Take Care" ... they will do nothing for her career. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:17, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

first reports put Lopez at 60-70k copies in the US.... *Jaw drops*. I thought she'd shift three-times that amount and that she'd top the chart. She's only gonna get top 5 (at best) in UK too :( — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Let me make a hot chocolate and i'll add some stuff to Papi. :D :D — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe... not sure what you mean =P. Hold fire with the reflinks and stuff for the time being. I prefer to get the article written. Btw there's a lot to add cus its nearly been mentioned in every review of the album :D — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:33, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just a case of searching Google news. I've sucked what i can from there. I'll now go through the album's reviews and find useful stuffs. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:38, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

† or +

[edit]

I am trying to initiate discussion concerning this symbol on Talk:Born This Way. Please take part in it rather than asserting that one thing is right when we have plenty of local rules and guidelines that say otherwise.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 17:31, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is plenty to discuss if you would just join in on the discussion.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:56, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing to discuss. It is listed as a plus sign on her official website, and just common sense tells you that it is what it's supposed to be. nding·start 18:57, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well I am bringing it up for extensive discussion on the talk page. And I seriously doubt that the UK website is the end-all be-all for any information concerning the music. So instead of reverting me over and over, go to Talk:Born This Way#+ or † so we can come to a consensus as to which symbol should be used.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:58, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted you a few times, and numerous others have changed it back as well. There is really nothing to discuss at all. The website LISTS IT AS A PLUS SIGN, the cross is what we call stylizing. nding·start 19:02, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You reverted me twice and Lil-unique1 put it there once and reverted it once. And LadyGaga.co.uk should not be taken as the official statement as to what songs are called. And song titles can be stylized as MOS:TM does not apply to songs titles as song titles are not trademarks. So therefore, I have opened up discussion as to whether or not we should go with the plus sign which is so far only used by the UK website or if we should use the cross-like dagger symbol which is used in the official liner notes as far as we know a this point. So, if you would please contribute to discussion there rather than automatically assuming that I cannot possibly have a valid point to use the other symbol.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:07, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
More people that just that have reverted it back than just me and Unique. DO NOT put words in my mouth. I never said you never had any valid points, but the facts are there, the website lists it as a plus sign. And on the note of the liner notes, the cover of The Fame Monster is labelled as The Fame Mons†er, so should it (according to you), have the dagger in it too? A source, and common sense, conclude that the title dagger is equal to a plus sign. nding·start 19:16, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The substitution of the dagger for the letter T is a stylization. When it is being used in an ambiguous nature where it could be a replacement for + is another issue which I am trying to bring up for discussion. Lil-Unique1 seems to have that same idea in mind when he independently changed the symbol. So let's discuss it on the talk page instead of arguing here.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:32, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Wikifiers!

Sorry this Newsletter is late, It should have gone out a month ago. I've been very busy in real life and didn't have time to get over to the newsletter. In this edition of the Newsletter, we have an editorial written by our new executive coordinator; Guoguo12. Guoguo12 has succeeded Mono due to an indefinite wikibreak. Thanks, and likewise. Good luck! I've done a little bit of work on "Right There", see what you think. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 01:24, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Coolio. Music video is the biggie with this one! — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:20, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not too worried tbh. There will be a separate US track listing. And the infobox can contain all recording studios and producers as they're all the same recording sessions. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For now the A&M thing is fine. I'm gonna research on it because the international version of her album (which i own a physical copy) lists Interscope as the copyright holder, but I'm guessing the US version will list A&M as they did with the Pussycat Dolls. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:44, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I just one to say thank you for telling me about that discussion of her singles. Since, I have become a huge fan. I had no clue she existed. :D --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 19:18, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bah, fine! :P I understand, every page I've ever visited is probably on my list. And you've never listened to her? You need to at least hear Starry Eyed or Lights. They are beautiful dance-pop charmers! Oh, and going a bit off topic, but have you bought Nicole's US debut? I freaked when I saw it at #51 on iTunes a bit ago. I really think this will be her US breakthrough!! --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 13:21, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I think Interscope got a clue and decided to give her some real money to film a music video and to do some live performances. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 14:22, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

....?

[edit]

Can you explain this edit?. If i didn't know you i would have templated you, you added WP:OR regarding the recording, you should know not to do that. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:56, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

B-side edits need to be reverted, as i said its POV; you say "The Sleazy Remix" and "Fuck Him He's a DJ" are the B-sides, i can easily say "Animal" (Switch Remix) and "Fuck Him He's A DJ" are the B-sides, since there is no such thing as a 3-sided B-side i didnt include it, please remove it. "Recording of the album took place during September 2010, at Conway Studios with Dr. Luke again as the executive producer (...) Kesha recorded the abundance of Cannibal over a two week span with a variety of producers" does not specifically say when each song was recorded just that most where, hence we cannot say the year or month or location anywhere else than the album page as we only know one recording location. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:05, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(What Is) Love?

[edit]

I'm thinking there is easily enough information to create (What Is) Love? considering that it charted in Spain, was performed in Italy, featured on the score/soundtrack to The Back-up Plan and was released as a promo single for Love? WikiCup 2011 May newsletter

[edit]

We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by Texas Racepacket (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Saskatchewan Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.

A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
