Wikipedia is not FaceBook, you can't just post anything you like. You must follow the guidance below:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls. Your only ref is written by the group's administrator, who is not an independent third party source, and there is absolutely nothing to indicate how this group meets the notability criteria, it appears to be just another of thousands of on-line forums, and the worthiness of its aims doesn't change that.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews, such as ' a lively hub... discovered numerous asteroids and comets. Even if the latter is true, sourcing it to his own writing makes it worthless
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

You said Not allowing at least 24 hours to contest a speedy deletion is, in my opinion, a mistake. The point of a speedy deletion is that there is no requirement for discussion. The editor who nominated this for deletion and I were both presented with a page that had no independent references, no evidence at all for notability and a promotional tone. However worthwhile you may thing the group is, that's no reason for us to host promo for it here.

Hello Starcluster,
I reverted two of your edits (1, 2), asking to "not mark edits as "minor" when they in fact are not". I am sure you were only trying to change the spelling from British to American English, which is usually considered a minor edit, and would be acceptable almost everywhere within the two articles. The problem is that the changes were about the title of a published work within a reference; and it is usually best to keep the original spelling in such cases. Thanks for your concern. However, manuscripts submitted to peer review journals get their titles (and content) altered both during the review process itself and later, during the copy-editing phase, when the publisher applies the language conventions used by the journal before getting the paper in its final form. A paper can be pre-published (right after acceptance) with one spelling and get the spelling changed by the publisher later. In this particular case, I was merely trying to reflect this fact. I see. You are right, the arxiv version, for example, uses the other spelling. I have no objections against changing it to scrutinized under those circumstances. Go ahead and undo my recent edits on those articles if you want. Your edit summary "Fix title" didn't explain the issue very clearly; I suggest to be a bit more "verbose" next time.
