Misunderstood edits

[edit]

Sorry if I misinterpreted your edits. I apologize if I did -- sometimes it is hard to tell. It might help if you specify in your edit summaries exactly what you are doing to the article, so someone unfamiliar with the article's subject won't misinterpret it by mistake. Another good thing to do is put a note on the Talk page of the article to explain what you are doing. Sorry! Regards, --Mattisse 17:15, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: WerdnaBot

[edit]

I didn't put the template there. WerdnaBot set it up when I first requested it. It has been working all this time, and changes Archives all by itself. So it is wonderful. Regards, --Mattisse 15:59, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Malta project

[edit]

Thanks for the invite, but my posts were just an outgrowth of a recent trip to Malta. I had mentioned Hagar Qim and Mnijdra to someone and then went to look them up on Wikipedia so give him some more info. That led me to amend a couple of entries. I just got sucked in, but I know no more about Malta than any other tourist. I will, however, continue to maintain a low-key watching brief. Regards. Acad Ronin 13:14, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Malta-Spelling

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Malta-Spelling requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:49, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

Hi Srl!

I noticed you were a homeschooler, and thought you might be interested in WikiProject Homeschooling. In this "WikiProject," we have been together working on the collaboration of Homeschooling-related articles. As a member, I really hope you can join, and let me know if you need any help signing up or with anything else. If you have any questions about the project you can ask at the project's talk page. Maltese Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi!! how are you?? Anyway just to tell you that i just joined the Maltese wikipedia (although i've been quite a while on the english one now) and i'm seeing that most of the articles need to be re-written and everything seems to be dead over there :S (which is a shame). The problem is that we need to attract more maltese users to the project. The task won't be easy, but if you work with me i can get an article on the maltese newspapers to attract more members to the maltese wikipedia. We need to get at least another 1000 members. Meanwhile we must also start a WikiProject to review the articles being written since i'm seeing a lot of ortography mistakes and some of them need to be deleted. Of course this needs time to be done but if you're willing to calloborate, we can start soon. By next month i finish my exams and i'm planning to be more active on the maltese wikipedia. SO what do you think? Btw i'm doing some archiving in the maltese RFA's..--Gian (talk) 17:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it sounds great. I haven't been on in a while as you see. Let me know how i can help.. 「ѕʀʟ·21:30, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, i have established myself as a regular member on the Maltese Wikipedia. The thing that keeps me back from the above proposals is that the help sections and stuff are still very weak and thus are very unattractive and we won't get anywhere. I'm working on them but it's going to take time.. i created a contact page and disclaimer from scratch but still way to go. I restructured the rfa page and made it look like the english one.. now the fact that i dont have sysop access it's hindering my work since i need to edit the front page ..

Joemaltais and Roderick aren't very active lately and you neither but i don't blame you since you're not maltese but there again you're a sysop on our wikipedia and you must be more active!!!! I think it's about time that we elect a new sysop.

Don't be offended but you're our sysop not because we elected you but because you were given such privileges by a foreign stewards. If i were you i would submit the rfa from scratch as a vote of confidence from the maltese community. Personally i wouldn't have run for sysop status on a wikipedia whose language i don't understand properly.. and the fact that you haven't made a contribution since february it's quite annoying me considering you're a sysop on our wiki :( Again i refrain by saying it's not your fault!! but i think you must realise that such role does not belong to you. Tbh it's not just me whose saying this but when i tried to get more users to the project they always leave because they feel the project is a joke with you being admin!!

http://mt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedija:Template_messages - what's this maltese-english a new language? come on man.. and then you write:

I didn't write most of those. 「ѕʀʟ·02:48, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template messages?

This page needs to be proof-read by a practicing malteaser srl's original is in 'diskussjoni'

I know maltese is a difficult language but things must be done properly. Please be mature about it as this is a very delicate issue for me and the community. thanks. --Gian (talk) 09:07, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isma, Gian, please feel free to call for a vote. I've always said that my main task was to foment l-inkwiet and try to get a more stable self-sustaining project going. I'm not offended in the least. Is-sliem, 「ѕʀʟ·02:47, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the names of the Maltese village articles

[edit]

There is currently an ongoing debate about whether the articles on Maltese villages should be given their English names. Kyarichy has already gone and renamed a bunch of articles such as as Kalkara citing these changes from an old obsolete paper and http://www.geody.com, even though these names are no longer in use.

The naming conventions clearly state that foreign location names commonly used in English should be used as the article names.

It would be appreciated if you could assist us in this discussion. ~ ► Wykebjs ◄ (userpage | talk) 10:59, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of American Vision

[edit]

A tag has been placed on American Vision requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Children of the Confederacy plaque

[edit]

Thank you for adding the plaque from the Texas capitol on the CoC sub-page. I only wish I could have added it myself, but haven't been able to get down to the capital lately.--Bellerophon5685 (talk) 04:44, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I introduced any errors in the Mark Davis article -- mostly I reorganized material that was already there. Especially bad if I introduced new and incorrect information without a source citation! Please correct any errors you find, and ideally include source citations for your information.... --Macrakis (talk) 17:44, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

L-istatus tiegħek bħala amministratur

[edit]

Insellimlek. Jiena steward. Dan l-aħħar il-komunità globali adottat regolament ġdid rigward it-tneħħija ta' "drittijiet avvanzati" (amministraturi, burokrati, eċċ). Skont dan ir-regolament l-istewards qegħdin jagħmlu reviżjoni tal-attivitajiet tal-amministraturi fuq il-wikijiet li m'għandhomx proċedura formali għat-tneħħija ta' "drittijiet avvanzati" minn kontijiet inattivi.

Inti tissodisfa l-kriterji ta' inattività (l-ebda modifikazzjoni u azzjoni ta' reġistru għal iżjed minn sentejn) fuq mtwiki fejn inti burokrata u admministratur. Billi mtwiki m'għandux proċedura għar-reviżjoni tad-drittijiet tal-amministraturi, ħa napplikaw il-proċedura globali.

Jekk trid iżżom id-drittijiet li għandek, jeħtieġ li tavża l-komunità li l-istewards bagħtulek din l-informazzjoni dwar l-inattività tiegħek biex jiddiskutuha. Wara d-diskussjoni bejn il-membri tal-komunità, jekk il-komunità jidhrilha li għandek iżżomm id-drittijiet li għandek, jekk jogħġbok ikkuntatja l-istewards fuq m:Stewards' noticeboard, u għamel ħolqa mad-diskussjoni bejn il-membri tal-komunità lokali, fejn juru li jixtiequ li int iżżomm id-drittijiet u juru l-ħtieġa li jsir hekk.

Aħna l-istewards niżnu r-reazzjonijiet. Jekk ma jkun hemm l-ebda reazzjoni wara xi xahar, nipproċedu biex inneħħulek id-drittijiet amministrattivi. F'każ ta' xi dubju, niżnu r-reazzjonijiet u nerġgħu nirreferu d-deċiżjoni lill-komunità għall-kummenti u r-reviżjoni tagħhom. Jekk ikollok xi mistoqsija, jekk jogħġbok ikkuntatjana fuq m:Stewards' noticeboard.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
