User talk:Spookane
I appreciate your contributions to wikipedia, but information that is included must have verifiability. I agree the Economy section needed a brief summary, but it must include cited sources or it simply has to be removed. Please help us make this article encyclopedic. Ontario introduction
[edit]I see you edit the Ontario page. The reference stating that Ontario is the 2nd largest province by area is not supported by its reference (reference 1 in the article). The reference actually points out that Nunavet and the Northwest Territories are larger than Ontario. Ontario then is the 4th largest province. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.149.63 (talk) 05:05, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
I was just in the process of reverting your changes and about to give you a warning. Thanks for reverting it back. Mkdwtalk 20:55, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Blanking vs deletion
[edit]Hi. I noticed you recently blanked the attack article Derek tigges. While it's clear your intentions were good (and I applaud you for that), in the case of an article that has clearly been creately soley to disparage or make personal attacks on someone or something, Wikipedia convention is to delete the article outright rather than just blanking out the offending text. This is done by adding one of the speedy deletion tags to the page (in this case, the tag {{db-attack}} should be used). An admin will usually delete the page within a few minutes then. Anyway, this is just a quick message so you know how to do it for future reference. If you have any more questions, leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! ~Matticus TC 17:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Onthamgglmap.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Onthamgglmap.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VegitaU 03:30, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
