User page
[edit]I just deleted your userpage, because User:AlexBlues created it with a bit of a rant. Let me know if you want it restored, but it seemed to be a bit of a WP:POINT. Happy editing. Hersfold (t/a/c) 05:23, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Shaikh
[edit]Thanks for the feedback! I just wanted to let you know I (with the assistance of a number of others) spent a considerable amount of time and effort on another equally polemic article with very polarised sources, and managed to get it to featured article status. Those editing the Shaikh article seem on the whole intelligent, civil and reasonable, and I am optimistic that once we are done, we will have an unbiased article we can all be proud of. - Thanks Ohconfucius. I have to admit I have gotten very frustrated on that article (mostly at the singular determination of Kasear to push through his edits) but have calmed down a little now. I'll try to continue to help with it and won't be shy about how I think we can keep it NPOV. :D (Although I wasn't kidding when I said I probably won't have too much time to devote to it as work has now gotten quite busy.) Thanks for your hard work on the article as well, you've done a lot to improve it and I appreciate it. Spinner145 (talk) 02:14, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi. I have put the GA Review on hold for seven days to allow time for the issues detailed on Talk:Akmal Shaikh/GA1 to be addressed. Any questions please get in touch. SilkTork *YES! 12:33, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
GA Review of Akmal Shaikh on hold
[edit]The GA review of the Akmal Shaikh article has been on hold for over 30 days. It is near to being passed, but the Akmal_Shaikh#Reaction section needs editing to reduce the amount of direct quotation as per Wikipedia:Quotations, and also to be trimmed in general to meet GA criteria 3(b): "stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail". Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated. SilkTork *YES! 10:41, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I haven't had any time to devote to this lately (sorry) but will try to get back to it later this month. Appreciate your work on the article, SilkTork.Spinner145 (talk) 03:47, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
