Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Spicyphummy! Your additions to Learning have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:04, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Laziness. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. WaterExplorer talk 18:14, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Leisure, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Satisfaction. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

[edit]You are posting random facts or opinions to articles and talk pages, such as Wikipedia talk:Dashboard. Perhaps you do not understand what Wikipedia is. The article Wikipedia may help, and so may the information page Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia. Perhaps you have limited understanding of the English language. If so, there is probably a version of Wikipedia in a language which you are more familiar with. Please do not continue posting as you have been in this version of Wikipedia, as it is disruptive and your ability to edit might have to be restricted.-gadfium 02:19, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Expansion. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to being blocked from editing. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 12:49, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Envy. Please stop making incorrect changes like these. You will be blocked from editing if this continues. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 23:43, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Orphaned Wikipedia essays
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Orphaned Wikipedia essays indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 22:49, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
