- FYI, if you intentionally link to a disambiguation page (like here), add (disambiguation) at the end of the link (so [[Eric Evans (disambiguation)]]). This lets both humans and assisted editing software that the linking is purposeful, and not a mistake. --I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:24, 10 June 2022 (UTC) (fixed link demonstration at 14:25, 10 June 2022 (UTC))
Thanks very much - sorry I got that disambiguation a bit wrong - I tried to follow another example. Thanks SpencerCD (talk) 14:37, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
Empty Categories
[edit]Hello, SpencerCD,
Please do not create categories before there are articles to put in them. The process of handling empty categories is unique among Wikipedia's deletion processes so if you have not read these template messages, I'll repeat it. Except for a few exceptions (redirect categories, categories being discussed at CFD, disambiguation categories), empty categories are deleted on Wikipedia after they are empty for one week. So, if these categories are still empty at this time next Tuesday (at least it's Tuesday where I'm at), they will be deleted. If they are no longer empty during this week, the CSD tag will be removed. As the notices state, Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself.
Another editor will see that the category is no longer empty and remove the tag.
If a category is deleted simply for being empty, it can be recreated at any time as soon as it is needed. So, even if these categories are deleted, you can create them again when you have a use for them. I hope this explains things a bit better. If you have additional questions, please bring them to the Teahouse or come to my User Talk page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:51, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
Hello Liz, Thanks for this - I didn't know that and must've missed all that somewhere - sorry. I had thought that there might be some other Principals with pages and could add them but have so far been unable to find any and I shouldn't have created all those. I'll research more beforehand if I get the chance to do anything else User:SpencerCD
ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
