Your GA nomination of New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. The Hungry Saw
Hello – here you go, the Q review you were asking for, and a couple of quotes from it... as ever with Q reviews that aren't a featured album, they're pretty brief and it's hard to get good quotes out of them:
"Tindersticks continue ploughing their melancholy furrow... new, however, is a charming lightness on tracks such as 'The Flicker of a Little Girl', only hinted at in the past".
"It might sound less dense, but The Hungry Saw is as dark, mysterious and seductive as ever".
(Andy Fyfe, Q issue 262, May 2008, page 141 - four stars out of five)
Would you like me to have a look for the NME review as well?
I've made a start on looking up reviews and quotes for the other albums you've asked for – I've got most of what I can for Blue Lines, including reviews from NME, Melody Maker, Q and Record Mirror, and the Q and Mojo reviews for the 2012 reissue, plus a few quotes from the few interviews they did at the time. I also looked up the reviews for "Unfinished Sympathy", as I believe there is enough for a stand-alone article, and it is a song that definitely warrants a separate article, being indisputably one of the greatest singles of all time. Not sure how far I'll get on the other albums before I run out of time and fly back to Colombia, but I'll do my best. Richard3120 (talk) 21:25, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- Just as an aside, there are also separate articles for "Daydreaming" and "Safe from Harm" which conversely I think should be merged into the main article – there surely is no reason for an article for "Daydreaming" which never even charted and there can't be any sources for material apart from the odd brief mention in the press. - Here's the NME review anyway, and you can decide whether you want to include it or not:
- "This seventh album finds the 'Sticks stripped to three core members in pursuit of their original, stained-Formica rawness and a pleasing lo-fi rustiness is restored... Satisfyingly spooky again."
- (Mark Beaumont, NME, 26 April 2008, p. 36 – 7 out of 10)

- That's absolutely fantastic Rich, thanks very much! I've got quite a lot going on (in real life) at the moment, so I'm not as productive here as I'd like, but I'll use all of this at some point. Brilliant, thanks again! — sparklism hey! 12:17, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
- No problem: I had noticed that you hadn't been editing much lately and I wasn't intending to pile you up with info regarding the other albums – I've got the bits and pieces written down in my notebook, so whenever you're ready to use them (whether it's six weeks, six months or six years), let me know and I'll pass them on to you. - Thanks. I'm still around here most days, but I'm just chipping away at stuff really. I'd like to be working on some more GAs, but I just don't have the time to add any real content right now. Hopefully things will calm down sooner, rather than later, and I can get back to the list of stuff I want to steer towards GA. Cheers! — sparklism hey! 12:31, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Request for your opinion
Good morning Sparklism! I noticed you've edited the topic Jimmy Edgar somewhat recently, and was hoping to collect viewpoints on an aesthetic issue. If you had a minute to contribute to the discussion/vote on the infobox photo, that would be very helpful. Earflaps (talk) 10:59, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
