2013 Los Angeles Dodgers Season
Why do you keep deleting the NL record vs opponents? It is on every team page. It is even on the 2012 page. It should be there.
- I don't like having extra tables... I don't really see the need for that particular template to be on every team page... The overall MLB season page ok but the team pages? Why? What purpose does it serve? I think the season pages should be more text and prose and less tables. Spanneraol (talk) 17:52, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- You seem to be the only one that doesn't want the tables on the page. I don't see at all what extra harm it causes you as an editor while editing the page (it's literally just two lines of text in the editing window), so I think we should keep them there. TCN7JM 20:42, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- It's the way it makes the page look for READERS... People seem to be putting tons of tables on these pages... the Cardinals page is even worse.... rather that writing TEXT which is far better. It just doesn't look good. I put the tables back for now, just hid them in a collapsible window to keep the page cleaner. 23:24, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Use of roster template
The template for the rosters of major league teams has a legend showing that the plus sign icon indicates the "7- or 15-day disabled list". The 7-day disabled list is used in the minor leagues. Therefore one must conclude that any designation of a player who is on the 40-man roster on the minor league 7-day disabled list should be shown on the 40-man roster on the team's page. This includes the recent designation for Alex Castellanos.
- The dodgers roster template is for the Major League roster... it should match the roster as shown on Dodgers.com... The Dodgers have not placed Castle on the DL.. he was placed on the DL by the Albuquerque Isotopes and that is reflected on the Isotopes roster template. You will notice no transaction on the dodgers website indicating him on the DL. The 7-day Major League DL indicator is for concussions. Spanneraol (talk) 23:52, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for the explanation. I did not realize that they have a new 7-day DL for concussions (begun a couple of years ago), and that is what that portion of the icon is for. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nsxtasy (talk • contribs) 15:02, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Hey Spanneraol, I have seen you do tireless work improving and maintaining baseball articles, as well as your participation at AfD. Would you benefit from having the admin tools? I would be more than willing to nominate you; even if you only used them occasionally, you would be a definite net positive. Let me know. Go Phightins! 00:51, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks but I'm not really interested in getting involved in the political side of things... and I probably don't have the "temperament" for the job. Spanneraol (talk) 02:49, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- OK, I respect your decision, but note that a user who reminds me a lot of you, Paulmcdonald, expressed similar wishes not to get involved in politics and passed an RFA rather easily and now has the tools on his belt if he needs them. It's up to you, but non-controversial people like you are ideal admin candidates. Go Phightins! 02:51, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Scott van Slyke
Hey there. I noticed you undid my edit moving Scott van Slyke from infielder to outfielder on the roster, with the comment "listed as outfielder on official website." You're right, he is listed as an outfielder on dodgers.com, and that's the only position he's eligible for in ESPN Fantasy Baseball. So I'm confused why you undid my edit. Just wanted to ask you before I started an edit war, lol. Zaxius (talk) 22:55, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- I mis wrote on that note.. at the time he was listed as an infielder on the official roster.. I notice that they updated it today to list Scott & Skip Schumaker as outfielders so i moved them. At the time you did your edit he was listed as an infielder. Spanneraol (talk) 23:10, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Fielding Bible Awards
Thanks for linking to Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Player style advice, but that is in fact the exact page I quoted from in reverting your previous edit. My question remains: do you have anything specifically stating that Fielding Bible Awards are not "other historically notable baseball-related awards," or is that just your personal view? And if it is just your personal view, do you have any substantive argument to back it up? SS451 (talk) 17:56, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- No where on that page does it say "other historically notable awards" go in the info box.. there was a specific debate that set guidelines for info boxes... this was done so that the boxes didn't become overly burdened with a lot of awards. The career highlights section that accepts other awards is for a separate table that is often included in player articles after the prose on his career. Two separate sections, read the section on the info box "highlights". Spanneraol (talk) 18:05, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- You're right, I was reading the wrong section. I think the consensus as presented on that page is overly narrow and a survey of a few notable player articles will show that it's being widely ignored, which in my view is a good thing. I'm not sure why it's so important to you to enforce it for one player for one particular award. Still, you are correct as to what the style guide says. SS451 (talk) 18:19, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Lyla Michaels - Arrow
Hi Spanneraol. I understand what you are saying, and I don't want to edit war with you. However, people (like this most recent IP) will try to wikilink to Harbinger, when they are not related (hence my attempted wording). How about this wording: "A character named Lyla Michaels appears in DC Comics using the name Harbinger." Or is that still too much self connection? I hope you see my intent of trying to get the wikilink there, as it should accurately be displayed, while not outright linking her name. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:41, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
