Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:
- To find out more about creating articles, read the Introduction and the Guide to creating your first article.
- You should not write articles about yourself, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia's notability policy for films says that Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox.

Proposed deletion of Sonic Returns
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sonic Returns, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Advice
[edit]I'm sorry to propose all your Sonic film articles for deletion, but I'm afraid they just don't meet Wikipedia's standards. As you'll see from the links in the Welcome paragraph above, articles have to be able to be verified from reliable sources - an encyclopedia, which is what Wikipedia is, doesn't have things based just on rumours, such as you might find on discussion forums. Over the years, standards have been worked out for what is acceptable - for films, you can find them at WP:NF, and for future events generally WP:CRYSTAL is the policy about things that might happen in the future. That's part of WP:NOT, which explains all the things that Wikipedia isn't. Don't be discouraged: read those policies, and follow the links from the Welcome paragraph to find out more about how to contribute. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:19, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
