Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in BBC Online, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 21:16, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mounteagle transmitting station, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MFR. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:16, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please use an edit summary

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed a recent edit you made does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! — Trey Maturin has spoken 19:56, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

December 2022 ... "Socialist"?

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Trafford09 (talk) 11:39, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I find you a curious user in that, whilst your edits are kosher and appear to improve the coverage of radio stations, you repeatedly ignore other editors' requests for you to follow this guideline.

You have a high edit count; this means that all your edits can and do cause other editors to question why you almost never (< 1%) use Edit Summaries (ESs). So, aren't you rather a nuisance, however good?

Socialist - I assume you have an interest in politics. If so, then no doubt you believe in people pulling together, to improve everybody's lives? Then surely fellow social thinkers would be impressed more, if you were to follow guidelines, to help the product improve whilst showing a modicum of collaboration?

BTW, maybe these may interest you: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory/Culture#Radio? Within that list, for example, you will see Portal:Radio and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Radio/UK_Radio.

I dare say you know how to talk to other users? And yet, I don't see that you have ever done so, on this account. Would you care to comment on any of the matters raised? Please feel free, for example, to edit this section, and insert a line with you thoughts. I'll notice if/when you do. You may like me to reply then?

As we say, be bold ... yet considerate, pretty please! Trafford09 (talk) 12:20, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Signal 2, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. There is a 2021 RfC where the community consensus was that these pages remain at their pre-GHR names to preserve the history of the stations. Individual GHR transmitters do not need their own Wikipedia articles. Please read this and stop changing the text of these articles to reflect GHR rebranding. 999 AM moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 999 AM, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 13:13, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Updating references

[edit]

When you update referenced content as you just did at Southampton, please update the access-date parameter on the given reference to confirm that you have checked the reference on which the new figures are based. It saves other people reverting your edits as unreferenced, which is what I nearly did. Thanks in advance. 10mmsocket (talk) 09:35, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
