Thanks

Thanks for cutting that vandalism off of my page earlier today. ElioDelRIo (talk) 21:54, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Kristian Ayre

Hi. Can you offer your opinion in this discussion? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 23:50, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

In regard to this article, the source it was copied from [1] represents itself as being licensed under Creative Commons. Thus, it is not necessarily a copyright violation to copy the information to Wikipedia, which also uses a Creative Commons license. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 18:19, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

I noticed the Creative Commons, but the licence specified was non-commercial, which is not compatible with Wikipedia. snigbrook (talk) 18:22, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. In that case, I have no objection to speedy deletion of the article as a copyright violation due to incompatible licensing. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 19:09, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
I've added the template again, although I had also added it to the Wikipedia:Copyright problems page. snigbrook (talk) 19:12, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Brainstorm

That would be an impersonation, probably by the idiot that impersonated user Caden yesterday. Thanks for letting me know, I'll report it to WP:AIV. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots22:43, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

That's my cousin's account

That is my cousin's account not mine. I am aware that his account was blocked but I didn't have anything to do with that.Euroleague Basketball Project (talk) 23:22, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

That seems unlikely, at least to me, as your recent return, your only edits appeared in the middle of a time when he did not edit for around 2 months. snigbrook (talk) 23:28, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Well I am aware my cousin's account was blocked. I didn't have anything to do with it. I was on vacation for awhile. Besides that's not my account anyway. I was not under the impression that this is a problem.Euroleague Basketball Project (talk) 23:46, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Hank and the Stone

Well spotted as a hoax - I decided it was blatant enough for G3 and zapped it without waiting for your PROD to expire - there ain't no such archbishop, there ain't no such book, and the author has been blocked as a sock. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:18, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Re. Trout

Looks like I missed a bit of vandalism there. Thanks for catching it! XXX antiuser eh? 23:18, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Snigbrook. You have new messages at Antiuser's talk page.

Re: your explanation at AIV

Thanks for that. I thought the log would say "account automatically created at..." if it was an SUL thing? I assume you checked at Meta or somewhere? --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:43, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Sometimes accounts don't appear in the log when created automatically, they only appear in Special:Listusers. There doesn't appear to be anything relevant at Meta (the global user list has an option to sort by date, but it doesn't work) although http://toolserver.org/~vvv/sulutil.php can be used if the account name is known. snigbrook (talk) 23:10, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Can you do this?

I read in archives, and I see that there is one issue about the article TVP, Telewizja Polska

Like the article 1, Screamer and Turkey. 1 is the article about the year, and for number is 1 (number), for others is 1 (disambiguation) and One (disambiguation). Screamer is a bird, but it have the disambiguation page too! It can means the screamer prank, or other. And Turkey article is about a country, why not about a bird?

So move TVP to TVP (disambiguation) and Telewizja Polska to TVP. and make Telewizja Polska a redirect page to TVP--125.25.81.129 (talk) 14:16, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

A move such as this may be controversial, and would require assistance from an administrator. The instructions are at Wikipedia:Requested moves, specifically the "requesting multiple page moves" section. snigbrook (talk) 14:33, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

PSTS

Hi, I am currently involved in a proposal for a guideline on primary, secondary and tertiary sources. I have just discovered that you were once involved in a similar proposal a while ago - either in contributing to it directly or in discussing it on its talk page. You may wish to get involved in the current proposal and I would encourage you to do so - even if you just want to point out where we have gone wrong! Yaris678 (talk) 23:36, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Shipwrecked

Can you find a reliable source to say that Shipwrecked will return for another series?RaisedinRotherham (talk) 21:14, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
No, but I can't find a source to say that it has finished, and other edits of yours have been dubious. For example, the list of Live Lounge covers where you have restored edits made by a vandal; your information is unverifiable and contradicts the official site (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/livelounge/artist/100329_30secondstomars.shtml). The names you have added to Template:Girls Can't Catch are also unverifiable – if these people exist, and are members of the group, I would expect the official site to mention them. snigbrook (talk) 21:23, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Ah, whatever.

My dreams of seeing Hayden Panettiere in Fred: The Movie have been crushed. There's no point in seeing this movie anymore. RaisedinRotherham (talk) 22:12, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Ashill and the three story building

I am compiling a blog and a book on Devon Folklore, and loved this story you gave. Would you mind if I used it? Where did you get it from? is it one in local circulation in Ashill?

The blog I am making is here

Not sure how this wikipedia talk thing works... I will bookmark it and check back later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.30.101.96 (talk) 23:52, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

It was already in the article; all I did was add a template requesting a citation as I couldn't verify it. You may be able to use the text - the conditions for this are at http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Terms_of_Use#Information_for_re-users - but I don't know whether the information is accurate or where it was from. It looks like it was originally added here, by an unregistered user with a dynamic IP address, so there is probably no way of contacting the person who added it directly, but you could ask on the article's talk page. snigbrook (talk) 00:14, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

File:HillsTitleCard.png

I've restored the file. While the licensing is nonfree, it's clearly an acceptable usage; however, there's no rationale, so you'll need to add one to keep it from being deleted in a week. Nyttend (talk) 01:31, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The rationale had been removed without explanation by an IP with no other edits; I've reverted the page to the version before blanking. snigbrook (talk) 12:37, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 21:22, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Attack page

Hi snigbrook!

I am curious to know how you came upon User:Bigherps07, which has been sitting around since 2007. User space searching, perhaps? Regards, decltype (talk) 13:38, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I was searching in user namespace for possible attack pages, presumably no-one noticed in newpages or recent changes when it was created. snigbrook (talk) 13:51, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

File:School5os.png

I really don't see any evidence, except for the image's small size, which can have legitimate reasons as well as illegitimate. That being said, I don't see any use for the image, so an FFD request would be quite appropriate. Nyttend (talk) 14:13, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Database Software requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unexplained Mumford & Sons Redirect

Why did you redirect Thistle & Weeds to their album? Jared Moore 1985 (talk) 22:48, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

There is no evidence of significant coverage for the song, and not enough information to justify existence of a separate article. Maybe it will become notable when it is released as a single; if it does then a separate article can be created. snigbrook (talk) 22:54, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

James Gilliland

You are the only other person I see that even looked at this article. James Gilliland. Can you please look at it again? It's rubbish...Cillmore (talk) 00:55, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree that it isn't a good article – some parts (including most of the lead section) appear to be promotional – and it is nominated for deletion, so maybe it will be deleted soon. My only involvement was to propose a merge from an article on a less notable topic, and to nominate some images for deletion; I haven't made much of a contribution to the article. My opinion is that the subject is possibly notable, and that one or two of the sources already in the article may be valid, although I'm unsure whether this is enough and can't find any more; I don't have an opinion either in favour of or against deletion. snigbrook (talk) 23:53, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Choice is Yours

Hi Snig,

I noticed that you deproded Choice Is Yours (AAA album) stating that the band's official website indicates that the album charted. I looked through the website, but not being able to read Japanese, I couldn't find anything saying that. Would you mind putting that information on the article and citing the appropriate webpage?

Thanks,
