Re: Spill.com

[edit]

Re your message: As I told Davidbray2 (talk · contribs): "I started the discussion to delete the article, but did not close the discussion or delete the article. The closure and deletion was done by Cirt (talk · contribs). The awarding of a 2009 Podcast Award would qualify Spill.com per the notability guidelines." I have no objections to recreating the article because now the site meets the notability guidelines, but back then it was determined by the community that it does not. As for your claim that you are not associated with the previous group, well... if you say so, but your edits show that you have knowledge of the situation and access to a copy of the previous article since your new article uses much of the same wording. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 16:53, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Note: As to why the edit filter was not letting you create the page, it was because you wrote “F--K YOU!!!” in all capitals (not spelling it out because you might then not be able to edit this line either.) If it were lowercase it would have been okay. A silly rule it may seem, but it stops a lot more vandalism than you might think. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 17:36, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: Wikibin is an archive of deleted articles from Wikipedia. Page views does not infer notability. What makes the site now notable is the award. The other references are rather weak as only the March 21, 2008 article is about Spill.com. The July 14, 2000 article is about their previous venture. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:43, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: The additional references help a lot. Nice work on cleaning up the article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:58, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Spill.com 2

[edit]

Hey. Great job reviving the Spill.com page. I'm actually the guy who created (and had to keep re-creating) the old one. Having it deleted over and over again was such a pain wasn't it? And after seeing the improvements you made, I have to say, it now looks and reads better than ever.

Great job!

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Spill.com has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=8871887251 (matching the regex rule \bfacebook\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Smithers45,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

A tag has been placed on File:"Ethan Klein, keeping fit, August 2022.jpg".png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch2h7vnJe5c/?hl=en. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ryan Kavanaugh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Variety. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:08, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
