Thanks for your question concerning the deletion of this article. The best explanation I give is the direct you to Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not for things made up in school one day. Don't be too put off by the obnoxious title; the point it's getting at is that Wikipedia articles focus on topics of sufficient notability to merit encyclopedic mention. A thumb wrestling group made up over instant messenger does not meet these particular guidelines, unfortunately.

Let me know if I can assist you with any other Wikipedia policies. Tijuana BrassE@ 19:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Also, Wikipedia editors are typically restricted to one account per person, except in some special cases. I noticed that you have two; this one and User:Smhanson. I can tell that you haven't created this with malicious intent, but you will need to pick one to stay with; do you have a preference? Tijuana BrassE@ 19:45, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

I understand your interest and enthusiasm, but you'll be hard pressed to find many editors that will agree that a thumb wrestling "organization" that a couple of friends made up online is of encyclopedic merit. As a graduate student, I'm sure you would agree. Perhaps a website like MySpace would better serve your phalangal interests? If you do end up creating a webpage for the group elsewhere, send a link my way, I'd enjoy seeing it. Tijuana BrassE@ 19:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem. The main concern about multiple account is the use of sockpuppets, which you haven't done. Also, I notice you're trying to figure out how to sign posts... trying typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~. That'll sign and datestamp it automatically. Just ask if you need anything else; you may want to look at Wikipedia:Community Portal for some good resources here. It can be confusing to get a grasp of all of the policies here, but most people are generally helpful (and you can just ignore the ones who aren't). Tijuana BrassE@ 20:07, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
