Hi there. As soon as User:B1link82 returned from his temporary ban he started reverting all the changes made to Special Air Service again, leaving his usual comments. This is getting quite tiresome, to put it mildly. Anything you can do would be appreciated. Cheers. -- Necrothesp 18:01, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Bureaucratship
I'm letting you know that I've just nominated myself for bureaucratship for the second time. If you didn't care to know about this, I apologize for the inconvenience. Andre (talk) 02:39, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
Since you have supported me during my RfA, I wonder if you could review and comment on the RfA for Halibutt, the first person I have nominated myself. hi, there is an organized campaign to save the above self-promotional vanity games-club page from deletion.... i'm wondering if you'd be willing to take a look and voice your opinion? normally i wouldnt care but (a) i hate organized campaigns from groups of users (especially when they have vested interests but dont declare them) and (b) when challenged about it, they suggested i try it myself! so here i am.... cheers! Situation of administrator abuse
Hi, I'm in a potentially awkward position with an Administrator. I have read the Wiki pages on dispute resolution but I'm still not sure how to proceed.
The Admin ContiE has a personal grudge against me for reasons I do not fully understand. He has been this way since I began frequenting wikipedia.
I have done work improving the furvert article. He has basically gone on a crusade against any edit I make. He controls every furry category article and several others ruthlessly. He is an iron fist and bans anyone he edit wars with. I had uploaded pictures and he deleted them with no talking. He seems to believe I am every person he has had an edit war against. He is always using personal attacks, calling me troll without reason. I uploaded them again and he voted them for deleted, but to his surprise the person who runs the images, thank you Nv8200p, found they were acceptable once I tagged them properly. Just recently he removed both the images without himself discussing it in the talk page (unless he was the same person who discussed only one) with the edit here [1] Then ContiE assumed bad faith, added his constant insult of troll in the talk page. It appears on a completed different wiki, a comedy one in all things, somebody else stole my username and I believe this was Conti himself and uploaded them. ContiE showed it as his reason. While vandalism like his, I would revert and mention it, he would ban me permanently if I undid his edit. That is why I am asking admins for help. He holds a couple of accounts on wikipedia and I think they are administrators so I have to be careful who I tell about this. Arights 06:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
{{unverified}}
This template currently redirects to {{no source}}, but it seems more logicial to point this to {{not verified}}. It's protected currently, or I'd fix it myself, so I'm asking you as the admin who moved it originally. Night Gyr 21:30, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm... I wouldn't characterize it as a content dispute. More like, I was protecting articles from POV violence. IUPAC fails hard, prenol it is and prenol it will forever be.
Yes, because it's so much easier to sit back coolly and revert something another user has done, than actually to spare the 2 seconds of effort to put right his mistakes in Wiki-etiquette and repeat the same action with conformation to the norm.
See, every damn chemical page I've visited here has titled with the standard English name over the IUPAC name, and bloody well it should do so too, seeing as this (supposedly) is an encyclopedia rather than a table of data.
Anyway, since it seems that your intentions for Wikipedia are with taking petty power over other users, rather than bringing about any good for the community, I won't even attempt to sway you. I can simply forge a sincere, bilateral discussion on the talk page, and then move the page to where it should be myself using the "move" feature you helpfully pointed out (the "move tab", however, is nowhere to be found within my interface--denied to unregistered users perhaps?--lest you think I'm silly for missing something obvious).
So, you see, I'll carry out the move anyway, rather than sitting here and shouting at you, because I'm not a bastard. But you see, if you weren't too, then you would already have done it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.142.16.106 (talk • contribs) 05:32, August 8, 2006 (UTC).

Fishing (runescape)
Though I get you logic in making the article a redirect, wouldn't it be wise to check that there was actually a section on fishing in that article? If you wanted to learn about fishing there is no section on the topic in the Runescape mini-games article. Therefore, I believe it would be wise to write in a section to that article. - That's fine with me (and that's a reason why I didn't delete the page history). I'm mainly trying to direct the creator to the right places, since he seems to be a little confused with Wikipedia's organization. --Slowking Man 13:21, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
About Image
Hi, you left a warning about this image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:1085510815_l.jpg My friend is the person who took the photograph, it is not copyrighted and he is allowing me to post it here. I dont know what copyright option to use.
Thanks, Vermy —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 14:03, September 9, 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. The image actually is copyrighted, as all works applicable for copyright in the United States are automatically under copyright, whether or not the copyright holder asserts his/her/its rights. Images used on Wikipedia must be licensed under a free license; see Wikipedia:Copyrights. I would suggest asking your friend to confirm that he releases the image into the public domain or under a free license (and in this case, which license). If he licenses it under a free license, you'll also need to provide his name or some way of identifying him as the source of the image on the image page. I know it seems like a bit of a pain, especially for casual images like this, but we have to be very careful about the copyright of all our content, to avoid legal problems and to ensure that everyone can view and reuse our content. If you have any further questions, ask away. --Slowking Man 14:18, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi! I completely rewrote the above article after coming across it through new pages patrol but when I attempted to post the changes I discovered you had speedied it as a copyvio. I had it saved to my clipboard and since I did the work and it's no longer a copyvio, I recreated it. Thought I'd keep you in the loop. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit 14:31, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Fixed the sandbox. Thanks RaveenS
Your edits to Asiatic Cheetah appear to consist largely of copying material from other sources, such as [2]. Unfortunately, as per Wikipedia's copyright policy, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted content from other sources, unless that material is provided under a free license. There is apparently usuable user-created content in the article, but it's entwined in the edit history with copyvio material. At some point, we'll want to remove the copyvio material from the history. Until then, I suggest you work with other editors on rewriting the article in your own words (I notice BenPhil has a rewrite in progress in a personal sandbox) and refrain from adding further copyrighted material to it. --Slowking Man 10:29, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Copied material are not from commercial websites and are from Asiatic Cheetah Project which is properly cited. Please check copywrite policy.
atulAtulsnischal 10:36, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but the commercial or non-commercial status of a website is irrelevant to the copyright status of its content. To quote the copyright policy:
- All works are copyrighted unless they either fall into the public domain or their copyright is explicitly disclaimed. If you use part of a copyrighted work under "fair use", or if you obtain special permission to use a copyrighted work from the copyright holder under the terms of our license, you must make a note of that fact (along with names and dates). It is our goal to be able to freely redistribute as much of Wikipedia's material as possible, so original images and sound files licensed under the GFDL or in the public domain are greatly preferred to copyrighted media files used under fair use.
- In the case of the site I linked, I see no copyright statement on the site. If you have verification that the copyright holder(s) has/have released the content under the GFDL, that's permissible, but you need to publicly provide such verification on the article's Talk page. --Slowking Man 10:45, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Asiatic Cheetah Please note: Any Copied material is under "Fair use" and is properly cited in the reference
This is no littreary attempt by me, the idea is to save this almost extinct cheetah subspecie.

- As per Wikipedia's username policy, usernames "that refer to or allude to reproductive or excretory functions of the body" or "that refer to or imply sexual acts, genitalia, or sexual preference including slang, innuendo, and double entendre" are not allowed. The names of articles have nothing to do with what usernames are permissable. --Slowking Man 10:34, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi just wondering if you could help me i have been recently trying to list the page sociide and repeatedly you have been blocking it and i just need a bit of help to try to get it online how can i cite variable scources to things that we have done. The reason for this is although we are known in the uk it is very hard to find refrences on the internet and i have noticed that many wiki pages that are available have less information... i just need help. :D Sorry i forgot to put this at the bottom many many apologies :( —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sociide (talk • contribs) 10:41, September 12, 2006 (UTC).
- Hello. We appreciate your contributions. However, Wikipedia articles have certain standards they must meet. One is Wikipedia's vanity guidelines; Wikipedia is not a web host or promotional site. A band with no released records and apparently little more than a page on MySpace has no reliable sources from which to draw material for an article; in addition, it probably does not meet our notability guidelines. My best advice would be to refrain from creating an article on the band until if and when they release an album or single and have information published about them in reliable sources. You are more than welcome to contribute to Wikipedia in other areas, of course. --Slowking Man 10:53, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, but removing content from a user's User page without permission is considered vandalism. If his dad has a problem with what's on his son's User page, he needs to make his son change it. --Slowking Man 08:12, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Your edit to Template:AMX companies
I will revert your removal of Fugro in Template:AMX companies because Fugro is indeed part of the AMX index. Here is the link to prove that: [3] Errabee 16:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, I wonder what your rationale is behind removing Fugro from those lists? It does not qualify as WP:SPAM, imho. Please clarify why you feel it does. Errabee 16:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, on second thought, I probably shouldn't have removed it from the template. I removed the links because the article was a spam article by Verminaard510, who apparently copied it (as an anon) from the company's website to advertise it. He haphazardly inserted some links to it into other pages. --Slowking Man 16:56, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for the info. BTW, you apparently speedied the deletion (and I don't argue with the fact it probably should be deleted, but can't check it anymore), but thought you should know it didn't qualify under CSD A8. I quote from the Wikipedia:criteria for speedy deletion:
- An article that is a blatant copyright infringement and meets these parameters:
- Material is unquestionably copied from a website with an obvious copyright notice that is not compatible with Wikipedia and;
- The article and its entire history contains only copyright violation material, excluding tags, templates, and minor edits and;
- Uploader makes no assertion of permission or fair use, and none seems likely and;
- The page was created less than 48 hours ago and is almost or totally un-wikified.
- I know the page existed when I created the template on 24 July 2006, because I then changed the name from Fugro World Wide to Fugro (see [4]). This deletion fails the last bullet, and could therefore not have been speedied under CSD A8, but the Wikipedia:Copyright problems procedure should have been followed. Now I think it's better to let things be, so I won't ask you to undo the deletion. Errabee 17:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I am aware of the "48 hours" part, but I decided that ignore all rules and the snowball clause applied, since it would without question have been deleted through process. --Slowking Man 17:20, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
You indicate that the image is GFDL, taken by you. However, the underlying image, I imagine, is a news photograph presumably not under GFDL. Please specify the source and CR status of the underlying image. I have added a tag. Thanks. - CrazyRussian talk/email 05:51, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right. I must've made that back in the days when my copyright knowledge wasn't up to par. It's just a joke image, so deleting it wouldn't be a big deal. Do you think a fair use claim for parody would hold water? --Slowking Man 05:57, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Just curious: is there some way of lifting autoblocks I'm not aware of? I thought you had to lift the actual numbered block, as below.

05:32, October 8, 2006 Netsnipe (Talk | contribs | block) unblocked 198.54.202.254 (contribs) (Autoblock of Adriaan90)
Does Mediawiki lift autoblocks on an IP if that IP's corresponding account is unblocked? If so, that'd be good to know for the future. Never thought I'd go two years as an admin while not knowing something about Mediawiki, but I guess you learn something new every day. ;) --Slowking Man 16:08, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Autoblock numbers are just masked IP addresses. That's why you need ask autoblocked people to provide you with their IP address using {{autoblock}}. As far as I know, you can unblock using either. -- Netsnipe ► 16:31, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I doubt this would succeed, however, as the subject appears to be a small, non-notable restaurant; as such, there is a lack of reliable sources from which to draw information for an article. --Slowking Man 16:57, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

If you don't want the school to be blocked in the future, get its network administrators to take action against abuse of their network (myself or another admin might even lift the block, if we're informed that such action has been taken). - On a side note (and I don't mean to be rude or anything) could you please sign your posts? On Talk pages, it's customary to sign one's messages with four tildes (~~~~), which is automagically turned into a signature like the one at the end of this message. Signatures make Talk pages a lot easier to read. And a tip: you can edit what appears as your signature in Special:Preferences (see the aforementioned page for more help). That's all! --Slowking Man 22:07, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Part 3
It was 207.73.183.6 who edited your page and the other ones that you know about and they have been punished, I thought that I made it clear in the earler comment but after re-readin it I realize that I didnt, so sorry for that. Sorry for not signing the last comments, I was in a hurry, but I will rember it from now on. Talon35 16:19, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've unblocked the school's IP; hopefully the vandalism will not continue. I'll watch the IP's contributions. --Slowking Man 06:00, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
RE: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob Levin (third nomination) (please reply on my talk)
I've left a reply; thanks for letting me know. I should check my watchlist more often! —Xyrael / 18:13, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Describing JD as 'petulant' is not a personal attack, it is an accurate, if terse, summary of his commentary in Talk:Rob_Levin. Do please read that and see if he doesn't qualify as 'Contemptuous in speech or behavior.' Kevin Marks 09:36, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
You blocked this IP previously and later unblocked them indicating the perpetrators had been punished. Apparently, the punishment was not enough. They returned to vandalize your userpage again [5]. I re-blocked the IP for a month. --Durin 16:57, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Shouldnt of tried
Sorry ... I feel bad that nobody respects your page, i know what hour it happened but dont know who it was, there are 42 kids in our comp class, so .... I wont even try to get us unblocked, guess I was wrong,... I thought that it was only them, but I guess that there are a lot of punks at my school, do you know if it is a soft block still or a hard block? Either would be undrestood. Talon35 22:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- I reblocked it as a soft block, so you and anyone else with an account can still edit. If you know someone is a trusted user, you can even create an account for him or her while behind the school IP, by using Special:Userlogin while logged into your account. If you have any more problems, let me know. --Slowking Man 10:36, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
School unblocking, maybe?
You (and some other admins) blocked my school from editing. The IP in question is 204.10.221.252, and the school is a rich white kid private school in Cincinnati (7hills.org on the web). I think all traffic from the school may be routed through a filtering proxy, so this IP may represent other schools in the area as well. I mentioned the block to the IT admins at the school, but they don't really know what Wikipedia is. I ask you to reconsider the block, because some useful edits are being stopped. -Pap3rw8 00:01, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- The block affects anonymous users only, so logged-in users (such as yourself) can still edit. If you don't want the school to be blocked in the future, ask the technical staff to take measures to stop abuse of their service. I'm sorry that innocent users are affected, but there's really nothing more I can do. --Slowking Man 10:36, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
No prob, hadn't considered copyvio as it was conversational in tone; I was watching progress being made on the rewrite and was prepared to takeover if needed. - RoyBoy 800 10:08, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Your deletion of my article on Holocentric
You deleted my entry for Holocentric claiming that the article appears to be a direct copy from ... source. This is my 3rd attempt to write the entry and I specifically took out all the quotes from this or other quoted sources. I am trying to acknowledge the contribution of the sourced author but absolutely did not lift a direct copy from the source.
I looked at similar entries to help be with this (eg REA Theory) and thought that I had met the context. I'd really appreciate some guideance on how I can publish something about a concept that has appeared in numerous published articles but is not currently mentioned in Wikipedia.
Thank you

- I've taken another look at it and it looks like I might have been wrong. I've restored the article. However, if the article does not meet Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines, such as notability, editors may nominate the article for deletion. --Slowking Man 07:49, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

User:Jasmin Safa/Zabihollah Safa/vandalism
slowking man, I didnt vandalize in the usersite of Jasmin Safa. Jasmin is a friend of mine and asked me on my answering machine how to get her user-site out of the category site. because the entry of Zabihollah Safa (a famous iranian scholar which was her father) is her first step in wikipedia, she didnt know and i did it for her with her consent. I also left a message on the discussion site of her Zabihollah Safa entry in german. I am a registrated wiki contributor in german wikipedia under the name tchilp (also sometimes in the english) So if you can please put me out of these vandalism warnings or entries. Thank you, A. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.174.7.158 (talk) 09:49, October 22, 2006 (UTC).
- Do you mean that she wanted the article moved out of her userspace to Zabihollah Safa? That can be done with the page move feature, accessed by clicking the "move" tab above (only logged-in users can move pages, currently). It seems she's copied-and-pasted the page content instead, which will have to be corrected by an administrator (such as myself). If you confirm that I'm correct in thinking she wanted it moved, I'll go ahead and fix it.
- I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but usually when an IP blanks a page, especially in someone else's userspace, it's vandalism, and the lack of an edit summary made the edit more suspect. I'll remove the vandalism warnings I placed on your Talk page. In the future, it would be best to have the user make such edits. --Slowking Man 11:13, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Very Sorry
I'm extremely sorry for the vandalizing of the Atlantic Records page. I was trying to impress a friend and had no idea of the consequences of my actions. So if you'll forgive me, that'd be cool. --DevilSavior 22:33, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Um, okay. There's nothing really to forgive; just don't do it in the future. It looks like you've been making good-faith edits, so I hope you stick around. --Slowking Man 23:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Username
Hi Slowking Man,
I have a question regarding my user name. Is it possible to adjust it to the German Username J_Safa (so that both are the same?).?Jasmin Safa 16:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Accused of Spam
Slowking Man,
I just got your message about Spamming my free VIN Decoder service. I just re-read the spam section here in Wikipedia and I can see why you were alarmed. I'm going to refrain from adding links. I'm sorry, I just am really excited about the unique service I'm offering to the community. Decode This (www.decodethis.com) is the first single-source for classic car VIN decoding that I know of. I'm just trying to get the word out about the services being offered. The site isn't commercial, all the services (WAP decoding, Google toolbar decoding, Web services, etc.) are all free to the public and will remain so.
I just got tired of playing "hunt the working VIN decoder" when I was dream-shopping on eBay or doing general research, so I wrote my own decoder (better the evil you know).
Can you let me know what IS allowable? Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chronosafe (talk • contribs) 04:42, October 30, 2006 (UTC).
- My best advice would be to avoid adding links to sites that you are involved with. For a variety of reasons, self-promotion is heavily discouraged on Wikipedia (see our autobiography guidelines for more explanation). If you wish to promote your site, do so through other channels. However, you are welcome to make positive contributions. --Slowking Man 12:50, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use questions
You recently flagged several Mortal Kombat articles as having no fair use rationale. Outside of the {{gamecover}} tag, I'm not sure what all I need to do to fix this. The only other image that I've done up a fair use rationale for, Image:Max Brooks headshot.jpg, doesn't quite apply in this case. Is there a list somewhere that I can pull reasonable arguments from? EVula 00:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- (I assume by "articles" you mean "images.") The fair use guidelines give a good overview of acceptable rationales for fair use on Wikipedia. Make sure you really do think the critera apply, though; I think some people just copy-and-paste things without really considering them. --Slowking Man 11:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
