Speedy deletion nomination of Younow
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Younow, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Dewritech (talk) 09:38, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I was confused at first because the link you gave, YouNow, was created by another editor and deleted for a different reason. There are actually a number of issues
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. I am not clear how this article satisfies the notability requirements, we are only told what it offers, not why it is significant. References that can be self-created (eg YouTube or blogs) or which rely on statements by people involved with the site are not independent and reliable. YouTube and blogs are onlly very rarely acceptable as refs, and there is a bot that hunts down the former. Most of your article is unreferenced or has unreliable references.
- It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: allows anyone to broadcast live on the Internet and interact immediately and directly with their audience... only service that guarantees a performer a real-time audience at any time... well-known YouTube celebrities... The site systematically rewards popular and talented broadcasters... founder Adi Sideman said the site “hosts more than 500 hours of curated content each day.”
- If this site is genuinely notable, it will have attracted the attention of mainstream media and can be shown to be significant. As it stands, it appears to be just another of the millions of sites.
I hope this helps. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:42, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
Write your draft here. Subpages are not exempt from the rules, but are given more leeway. When you are ready, let me know and I'll take a look Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:52, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

The article YouNow has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- almost no evidence of any possible importance
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 03:57, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article YouNow is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/YouNow until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. DGG ( talk ) 00:02, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
