Copying licensed material requires attribution
[edit]Hi. I see in a recent addition to Publications Office of the European Union you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 13:15, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Mean as custard (talk) 14:56, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. Your work on the Data.europa.eu page is not correct anymore. The old portal European Data Portal is depreciated. The new portal is data.europa.eu. So there has to be an update. Simonsteuer93 (talk) 15:19, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
I only have one account. Please do check the IP address of mine. I also was working on a page which was clearly outdated. You just have to google "European Data Portal" to find the answer Simonsteuer93 (talk) 11:46, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

- The nature of the changes you were making to that article were outrageously promotional - you were writing in the first person about 'our mission' and so on. I assume that you are employed by the institution that maintains the portal? You need to appreciate that there is a significant difference between how a neutral encyclopedia article is written about a subject, and the sort of prose one would expect to find on that subject's own website. I might be prepared to believe that this is your only account, but I would not be willing to consider accepting your unblock request you until you give us some assurances that you have read WP:PAID, WP:COI, you indicate that you are willing to make the necessary disclosure, and you show that you understand what you may and may not do when editing about subjects you have such a connection with.
