You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Karanacs (talk) 17:23, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Tikal
Hi Simon
Had a few problems here, PC broke/18hour days/then lost job/health/internet connection, but have been plodding on with the Tikal map (though at slow speed)
I will try and get a good latest version for you to look over by the end of the weekend (that doesn't look right lol)
Hope all is well with you

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support!
Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. My name is Claudi Balaguer (User Capsot from the Catalan Wikipedia and Occitan Wikiccionari), I've just read your profile and saw you're a learned and open-minded person really interested in (old) languages and cultures and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to this moment because Catalan is not supported by a state even though our Association is working real hard. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. During my campaign I met a person (User Marrovi of the Catalan, Spanish and Nahuatl Wikipedias) who is working on native (central and southern I guess) American languages so you might be interested to contact him, he also needs support for the opening of a Mayan Wikipedia so maybe you'd like to support or help him, if you wish to join him and can't do it, just let me know, I'll be glad to help! Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Capsot (talk) 12:33, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- No problem - I'm always willing to support the expansion of these projects into other languages. All the best, Simon Burchell (talk) 13:55, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Could you find something to add to Poxte River? Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:20, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- I had a quick look at Asosiación Tikal and there is certainly a decent amount of archaeological info available on the Poxte River area, and I expect some of these contain general geographical information on the river. I'll see what I can dig up. Simon Burchell (talk) 10:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Also, if you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 16:39, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you: Chimaltenango
Thank you for the coordinates tweak on the Chimaltenango article. It appears much more accurate.--173.58.234.169 (talk) 22:06, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- No problem - I know Chimaltenango a little, and your coords are only a block or two off the muni from what I can see. Best regards, Simon Burchell (talk) 22:09, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
I've reviewed the above article. I didn't leave many comments as it meets the GA criteria, and once one question is addressed the article will pass. Nev1 (talk) 19:39, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

what's next
Hey Simon, you reviewed the article i nominated to fa status. Eshmun Temple was my first shot at fa class and things have been pretty static for a while now. Should i just wait for the nomination or is there something i should do? Again thank you for your time spent in reviewing the article. Eli+ 18:54, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, you could post onto the talk pages of related wikiprojects and ask for comments/reviews of the article. Otherwise it is just a matter of waiting - as the article moves towards the end of the FAC list there will (hopefully) be a flurry of activity. Some of the FAC reviewers tend to keep a list of articles in urgent need of review, so the article shouldn't be forgotten. My Takalik Abaj article was in a similar position and got some pretty hefty reviews right at the end, which then involved quite of lot of work to get the article up to scratch. Best regards, Simon Burchell (talk) 11:07, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Ujuxte
Hi, do you have the coordinates of this? I just started Chiquirines. Have anything on it? Dr. Blofeld 20:55, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'm pretty busy the next couple of days but I'll see what I can find. Simon Burchell (talk) 07:12, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I've got exact UTM coordinates for Ujuxte from here (page 6). I've put them in as digital coords but they look a little messy. I've not had much luck with Chiquirines, it is occasionally mentioned in connection with Ujuxte but without any detail, although I've managed to expand the stub a little. Simon Burchell (talk) 21:37, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi! We need to work on the quality and POV in this article. I think it would be good if we can get it to Good Article status. Would you be willing to help with the effort?--Gniniv (talk) 07:48, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm a bit busy at the moment but I'll take a look - I've certainly got enough references lying around. Simon Burchell (talk) 07:59, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Help with my students?
Hi!... Im having my Advanced Business English students do some work in Wikipedia. They'll be working on articles related to business and Mexico and preferably business in Mexico. I did something like this a couple of years ago, asking for mentors to help students navigate WP and help a little with their English. Could you help out a couple of students? Thelmadatter (talk) 15:17, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. What kind of help do they need? Simon Burchell (talk) 08:45, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
