Request reason:
Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 182.75.45.1. Place any further information here. Shashy 922 (talk) 13:16, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline since I can't unblock this account as it's not blocked. And I will not be touching the IP; you could still edit from another one. But what would work best would be going over to WP:IPECPROXY and following those instructions to request IP block exemption. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:20, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please help me with... I've been working on Draft:Sanket Goel for a couple of months and don't know more to do to improve it. Please give me some advice on how to improve the article and get it accepted.
I've worked on my citations and added lot of references for reliable sources like news websites. Shashy 922 (talk) 11:25, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- You've submitted it for a review, the reviewer will leave feedback if they do not accept it. 331dot (talk) 12:39, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- I see that you claim the image of him as your own work, this would mean that you took the image yourself. That would suggest you have a conflict of interest, please read that policy and make the needed disclosure. 331dot (talk) 12:41, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot about that. I put a new image which I found online and have uploaded it to Wikipedia. I'm a bit confused on how to declare the source and the authors of the image. Would me really great if you could help me out. @331dot Shashy 922 (talk) 15:38, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- I think you misunderstood my original message. It's fine to use an image you took(It's actually preferable and easier copyright wise), you just need to declare a conflict of interest since I presume you asked him to pose for you. You cannot use any random image from the internet as copyright is assumed to be with the photographer. If you can show that the copyright of a particular image is compatible with Wikipedia, meaning that it can be reused for any purpose including commercial, with attribution, it may be uploaded to Commons and used.
- Images are actually not relevant to the draft approval process, which only considers the text and sources. I would just remove any images and wait until your draft is accepted before adding them. 331dot (talk) 17:33, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for that. @331dot. I got this image from https://theeducationpost.in/simplest-solution-most-functional-sanket-goel-bits-pilani/ which is also one of my sources for the article. I don't know how to 'show that the copyright of a particular image is compatible with Wikipedia'. Please help me out Shashy 922 (talk) 04:04, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- You cannot use an image from that website because at the bottom of the article it says the copyright is "All Rights Reserved". This is the case with almost any image found on the internet, especially media outlets, even if it is not explicitly stated as it is here. Please see WP:UPIMAGE for guidance, but in short, an image must be either
- Public domain (expired copyright or public from inception) (see here)
- One of various licenses listed in this Wikipedia resource page
- Claimed as fair use under Wikipedia's non-free content guidelines
- Most websites have somewhere on them, or on images displayed there, what the copyight is, but if not, it is assumed to be with the photographer. As I said above, the absolute easiest way to get an image on Wikipedia is to take it yourself, you can then release the copyright to it so it is compatible with Wikipedia's license. It gets harder when you want to use images other people took. The owner of the copyright of an image can release it under a license that is compatible with Wikipedia if they themselves donate it. Some people may not want to do that, as it means that others could reuse their work for any purpose, including commercial, with attribution, and they would not be entitled to any money.
- Again, I advise you to sort out the images later, once your draft is accepted. 331dot (talk) 08:39, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- @331dot thanks a lot. and also my draft got accepted! thanks a lot for your help Shashy 922 (talk) 10:37, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Sanket-Goel-BITS-Pilani.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sanket-Goel-BITS-Pilani.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:33, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

Star Mississippi 01:00, 17 April 2023 (UTC)- Thanks a lot @Star Mississippi!! I have been working on this article for a couple of months and you really made my day now that it is accepted! Shashy 922 (talk) 04:19, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- You're welcome. You did great work. I've advised Mr. Goel not to edit the article directly but rather to make edit requests. You're welcome to continue editing as you have been. Star Mississippi 12:45, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Joseph Warren Revere (businessman), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Canton. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sanket Goel, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. The reason the maintainence template was restored was explained in the edit summary. Please do not remove conflict of interest templates from an article you created, especially when you didn't do anything to solve the problem. Thank you RetroCosmos talk 13:39, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

. Star Mississippi 15:10, 14 January 2024 (UTC)- as we have discussed on Talk:Sanket Goel, the tag removal is for the community to decide -- not you with a vested COI. You have now lost access to edit the article directly but are welcome to continue discussing on the Talk page. The Community - not you nor I - will decide on the Tag Star Mississippi 15:11, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Unblock request
[edit]Shashy 922 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I won't remove tags without discussing them properly in the talk page
Decline reason:
You've given no reason here to remove the block from the one article. In fact, you shouldn't be editing it yourself as you have a clear conflict of interest(I see that you took an image of the professor and he posed for you). You should be making edit requests on the talk page. You still have access to that, as well as to every other page and article on Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 15:00, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Blocking admin comment recommend decline as they continue to only edit about Goel and are asking in multiple locations for the tag to be removed. I see no inclination they will leave it be if they have access to remove it. Shashy, you may use edit requests if you have an improvement you wish to make to the article. Help with COI tag
[edit]Hi, I am a very new editor here, and I got my first page published. However, it is tagged with a COI User:Star_Mississippi which I'm not sure how to resolve (I mean I know that the community needs to agree on it, but I can't get the community's attention to it). Could anybody more experienced please help me out? Shashy 922 (talk) 12:29, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- It needs to be reviewed by an independent editor. There are no deadlines here, it will be done when a volunteer has time to do it. In the meantime, I suggest that you formally disclose your COI(see WP:COI) that you clearly have- you took an image of the professor and he posed for you, so you clearly have access to him. 331dot (talk) 15:02, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- I mean, I emailed him for a photo. That's all. How do I disclose this? Please help. Thanks @331dot Shashy 922 (talk) 16:37, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- If you did not take the photo as you are currently claiming on the image, you must immediately (right now) request its deletion from Commons. The copyright may not be the professor's to give away, typically it belongs to the photographer. If he does own the copyright, he can release it for use here(as long as he knows anyone can use it for any purpose with attribution) but then you must edit the copyright information accordingly. 331dot (talk) 21:03, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Merely asking for a photo is not a conflict of interest, have you asked him for input or information? 331dot (talk) 21:04, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
