From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Girka is a village in Kaita Local Government in Katsina state. The word 'Girka' in Hausa may literally mean 'to base something in.' It may also mean (the spiritual activities of Bori.) But this meaning has nothing to do with Girka village etymologically or historically. Sauri is the title of the Village Head.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Girka. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Thanks once again Altered Walter for the info. I just made some changes to my article that I think it is worth looking at and removing those 'challenging templetes'. Pls advise me. Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 11:09, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kaita, Nigeria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hausa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:36, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Village 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Village 2.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Village 2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fut.Perf. 15:07, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Abubakar Sani

[edit]

Hello Shamsurabiu,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Abubakar Sani for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Too Early for Publishing

[edit]

Thanks for the response to my article, Abubakar Sani. I believe the problem arose when I could not use sandbox to create and develop the article. I am making efforts to move it to sandbox. I welcome all your suggestions and criticisms. Thanks Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 10:57, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Professor Sunusi Mamman.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Professor Sunusi Mamman.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source/license for File:Professor Sunusi Mamman.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Professor Sunusi Mamman.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 11:45, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:13, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Captain. It might be I wasn't able to make proper description due to my poor knowledge of Wikipedia but I have email permission to use it here from the owner. Please guide me on where to forward that email in order to avoid deletion. Thank you. Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 15:48, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Professor Sunusi Mamman, Sa'in Galadiman Katsina.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Professor Sunusi Mamman, Sa'in Galadiman Katsina.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. You are lucky to block me from editing Wikipedia. How capable are you to block me from breathing air? Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 10:00, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aminu Bello Masari, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kafur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello Shamsurabiu. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Shamsurabiu. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Shamsurabiu|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS💬 18:03, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your openness and clarity of explanation.

It took me weeks to gather facts about the subject and initially my thought was to write about prisoners' activists but it's somewhat too wide for me, thus narrowed to Louis L Reed. I'm not paid to write about him. I gleaned my facts from his TV and newspaper interviews, and their websites. Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 19:49, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

@GSS I saw your message asking whether I'm a paid editor. I categorically told you that I AM NOT A PAID EDITOR. I asked you to tell me where my article goes wrong so I'll avoid the mistake in the future. Shamsu Rabiu Galadunchi 06:21, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

@Yunshui: in response to this comment by Shamsurabiu can you please check your inbox? Thank you. GSS💬 04:34, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bridgemaker? Bridge burner, more like. Your above claim is easily disproved by off-wiki evidence, and you are now blocked from editing. Yunshui  08:05, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
