Did you make this edit?
[edit]Hi , by any chance, were you the one who made this edit to my user page [1] ? --Deepak D'Souza (talk • contribs) 04:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes, indeed. It should have gone to another user's page . My apologies.
I didn't check that you had put the reply here. Anyway no problems and no need to apologise. New users are a bit unsure and do make a few mistakes. It's OK! Regarding the related groups in the Ethnic group infobox, I thought I will inform you that the section itself has been removed. The editors have given the reason. Please read Template:Infobox_Ethnic_group/doc#Related_groups. Thanks. --Deepak D'Souza (talk • contribs) 05:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of H.H. Risley
[edit]H.H. Risley, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that H.H. Risley satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/H.H. Risley and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of H.H. Risley during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:Vijay Tendulkar .jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Vijay Tendulkar .jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 20:16, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Deshastha Brahmin Request for information
[edit]Shakher59, you have uploaded several pictures on Wikipedia, some of which are being used in Deshastha Brahmin. It'll be a lot of help if you can provide more information about the pictures. Things like location of the pictures, when they were taken, the occasion, whether they are Deshastha Rigvedi or Yajurvedi and perhaps their last names, etc will be of great help. Thanks. Zuggernaut (talk) 00:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. Images
[edit]A peer reviewer recently raised the following point regarding the images used in Deshastha Brahmin. His comment "File:Deshastha Girls.jpg has been licensed as CC-by-SA 2.0, but it does not appear to be a photograph taken by the uploader who added the license. If the image is not the uploader's own work (a photograph he or she created), then the uploader can't arbitrarily license the image as CC-by-SA 2.0. The uploader seems to be aware of the difficulty and adds language usually associated with a fair-use claim. This won't do." can also be found at at [4]. Please comment/respond at the provided link so we can add back the images. Zuggernaut (talk) 00:26, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Deoghar.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Deoghar.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:06, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bhardwaj is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bhardwaj until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ironholds (talk) 03:51, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 31
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cooperative movement in India, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page NCP (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Yajurvedi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:GNG. The only source here is an unreliable Raj era gazetteer and there does not appear to be anything else that might be suitable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sitush (talk) 20:00, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

[edit]What you need for an acceptable version of that article:
Better sources that aren't just the patent itself and a restatement of the patent as published in what does not appear to be a particularly high-quality journal.
If you can find those, good, I look forward to seeing your work. DS (talk) 19:15, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks DS.I will try to find a reliable source which may be a hard slog given that this is quite a recent invention.Shakher59 (talk) 22:35, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Munj -1.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Munj -1.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 10:03, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
